1. Rethink stairs

In most homes, the space under the stairs is woefully wasted; it’s just a walled in area that’s forgotten about. Instead, you can turn that area into a playroom, reading nook, nifty storage closet or any number or even a small powder room. After all, who wouldn’t like the addition of an extra half bath?

2. Think about platform storage

Besides adding visual interest to a room, platform storage is a great way to squirrel away little used items, like Christmas decorations. Remember, homebuyers today want more storage space than ever, so this addition is sure to pay you back.

3. New windows

It’s really incredible how many different styles of windows are on the market today. Don’t be afraid to be bold. Just make sure that you polish the look with a great window treatments, like polywood indoor shutters.

4. Go for a walk in shower

If you’re lucky enough to have a large bathroom, check out ditching shower curtains and just go for a walk in shower. It’s a dramatic effect that will greatly increase your home’s value. Of course you will probably be sacrificing a bit of privacy if you opt to go with a walk in shower, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

5. Install toe kick drawers

The cabinets in your kitchen and bathroom probably have what are known as a toe kick: a recessed area under the cabinet door. However, that toe kick can be replaced for a drawer, giving you more storage space than ever.

6. Remove a kitchen wall

In the recent past, kitchens were generally walled off, creating many awkward and small spaces in your home. Knocking a wall out makes your home feel larger by creating an open floor plan. Opening up the kitchen to the living room can make a cramped living room feel more spacious. While this may not be an easy project, nor the easiest project to complete, it’s certainly one of the most worthwhile.
7. Create an attic bedroom

Would you like an extra bedroom in your home? Look into turning your home’s attic into a bedroom. This remodel generally doesn’t cost as much as you think, but it gives you a lot more square footage. Just be sure that you plan for how the space will be heated or cooled.

Remember, whether you bought a turn of the century historic home, or a space from the 70’s that screams, “flower power,” you really can turn your house into a dream space. Just identify what in your home doesn’t work for you and find a solution.

White Wine Removes Red Wine Stains? Stupid Tip of the Day:

White Wine Removes Red Wine Stains? Stupid Tip of the Day:

So on the light carpet lay a stain from red wine. What to do? White wine is not the answer.  That is the Urban Legend’s of useful home tips. Though it may look to dilute the red stain, it is still wine, and is filled with sugars. White wine will stain the carpet as well, it just takes a little longer for that stain to appear. So the tip to pick up any wine spill is peroxide.

Use Peroxide Immediately

As soon as you notice the spill, grab peroxide and apply to the area. You will need several towels for the process. Blot the spot to absorb the top level. Add more peroxide if needed. Then, with a new clean towel, apply pressure to retrieve the stain on the lower level.

Don’t Let Peroxide Sit

Leaving peroxide absorbing into the carpet or fabric won’t be healthy for the fabric, so you’ll need to do one more step. After the stain is gone, apply a clean wet cloth to the area to absorb the remainder of the peroxide.

This step is super important if the carpet is colored. The water will dilute the chemical reaction of peroxide so the fabric doesn’t lighten.

Already Dark Fabric

If the carpet or material is already dark and the material just looks wet, you might be able to get away with washing the stain out with soap and water. It’s recommended to apply a small amount of dish soap to water, and use a soapy towel to scrub out the area.

This process should remove the stain without consequence to the color of the carpet.

So, Can You Use White Wine to Remove Red Wine Stain

No. You should not use white wine to remove a red wine stain. The white wine will stain as well, but it takes longer for the white wine stain to show up. The sugars in the wine will eventually yellow the material.

Remember, you must be 21 to drink in the U.S, and please drink responsibly.

It has been proven that working a 9-5 job inside an office can cause health risks like stress, eye conditions and weight gain. This is primarily because it keeps a person from moving most of his or her body muscles. In addition to this, the long exposure to blue light from electronics drains the energy off the body.

Office workers often compensate for these stressful conditions by keeping a stack of snack foods near their desks. These often consist of coffee, chips, chocolate bars and burgers, which of course are not healthy when eaten in excess.

The tips below can offer insights on how one can maintain health and fitness while working in a 9-5 office environment. In fact, such a weight loss program could be more comfortable and enjoyable for a person as it keeps in mind the person’s lifestyle and work habits.

1. Eat More Mini-Meals Instead Of A Few Big Meals:
Eating smaller meals helps our body process the calories we have just taken in better. Eating mini-meals will keep an office worker feeling full and alert throughout the day. This is because eating a big meal will rapidly increase a person’s sugar levels. This causes the body to process it with a high dose of insulin, which in turn will make us sleepy.

2. Buy Healthier Snacks:
Eating mini-meals perfectly addresses the office worker’s need to nibble on food while stressed. We have to watch what we nibble on though. Doctors recommend snacking on nuts like almonds, fruits, yogurt and cheeses.

3. Ride A Bike Or Walk To Work, If You Can:
The drive or commute to the office can be grueling, so if you can, bike or walk to work. It will stretch your muscles and leave you mentally and physically more fit to work. You will also save money and the environment.

4. If You Cannot, Do Exercises At The Office:
This prevents muscle atrophy and is also a good way to de-stress. A healthy way to take a break from writing a financial report is to walk around or outside the office. Instead of taking the elevator, climb the stairs. Some physical exercises can also be done at the work desk. Doing stretches with your hands to your sides and then over your head is a good example. It can help trim your waist and keep your wrists from getting carpal tunnel syndrome. Leg lifts can also be done at the desk. Straighten your knees and lift your legs out from under the work table. Point your toes and repeat.
5. Drink Water Or Tea:
Office pantries usually provide coffee and water. Limit your coffee drinking and take water instead. It will help flush out toxins and fats from your body. Tea can provide the caffeine fix you want with the same cleansing effect.

Work out with your colleagues is a great way to get to know your team members is to invite them to after work sports. Get a national insurance number is important to keep yourself covered in case of anything.
