Tips in Action: Smoothie Your Way to Fabulous.

As you know, I am an advocate for you making your metabolism, as healthy as can be. On several occasions I’ve mentioned, eating more frequently with less of a helping throughout the day, is the positive way to go.

But, that doesn’t mean just eating junk. Adding fruits and veggies as those in between meals, which
I’ll call it your “light meal” times, are an excellent filler and amazing for your body and immune system. Adding one smoothie drink, while replacing a snack, on daily basis seems to keep the metabolism running in check and can help in maintain your goal weight.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan on fruits I like them, but sometimes I’m not in the mood for them, and some people aren’t fans of the veggies, but the best way to get both or either is throwing all your ingredients into a blender and making a smoothie. Breaking down those juices and drinking them, is so nutritious. Fruit smoothies have become my favorite.

There are tons of smoothie recipes out there, depending on what you like. But, if you would like a simple idea of a smoothie. Have your fruits and/or veggies, a favorite juice to add for a smoother consistency and if you want it frozen don’t forget your ice. Some people wish to have a little sweet with their smoothie, because it can be a bit bitter, so you can add a teaspoon of honey or agave to give it a sweetness.

You may be surprised on how refreshed and energized you feel just by adding a healthy smoothie into your diet.

After all that pumpkin pie, getting in shape is a resolution for many of us as the holidays wind down. When setting goals this new year, the trick to keeping them is making them doable. If you know you want to lose weight, make some small manageable goals to get started so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Just start with 20 min of cardio three times a week. As you get better, make more time during the week for workouts, or make your workout longer. Always warm up with fast paced cardio like jumping jacks to get your body warm, and blood flowing. For greater muscle tone add squats, jumps and abs to your routine. You also don’t want to underestimate the importance of the right brand for hitting the gym. Getting in shape and getting in style don’t have to conflict with each other, as long as you check out this list of brands to wear while you work it.

The quirky yoga-style Lululemon Athletica brand has become a major force in women’s athletic apparel. Their form-fitting lines are sure to be flattering as much as sweat-wicking. These clothes are business first, socializing second. It doesn’t have to be yoga, because Lululemon clothing is perfect for any kind of workout, especially one that incorporates a lot of cardio work since they offer a lot of support.
Sometimes you can’t beat the classics like Nike. This brand has been providing the world with comfortable and affordable shoes and sports apparel for a long time. Their jogging shoes have even been recommended from foot specialists in Toronto to Florida. They have quite a line of workout clothes, and they are better than Lululemon for outdoor sports, jogging, and training. Nike has sportswear for both men and women in a wide variety of colors. While not quite as high-end as Lululemon, Nike is the best one-stop shop for men and women looking to put together an outfit for running that can work in both the summer and the winter.

Adidas is a solid choice because of the versatility alone. You can find clothing to fit all kinds of sports and workouts in all weather conditions for men, women, and children. The Foot Clinic says to check the arch support and heel when buying Adidas shoes. If you have longer legs, your heels definitely won’t have to be as high. Their selection is even better than Nike’s, especially for winter sports and workouts.

Between these three brands, you will have a good selection of the fashionable, the practical, the durable, and the versatile workout brands out there. Think carefully about the kind of exercise you want to do, and whether it will require being outside, and if so, in what weather. That will tell you where you need to look. Don’t be afraid to mix and match, either. Take what you need from each of the three brands to you are getting the best.

Cover Up Blemishes. Quickie:

Quickie: Cover Up Blemishes.

There actually is a right way and a wrong way to cover up blemishes, on the skin. If using a liquid foundation, don’t smear it on, pat it on by allowing air to combine with the makeup, it  gives a more natural appearance.

If you are trying to cover up a specific area, using a coverup stick, concealer or liquid foundation is effective for most. Apply to your finger or applicator and blot into the blemish. It gives a longer lasting camouflage to the area.

Remember, if you are using your fingers to apply your makeup, the shelf life of the makeup lessens, rather than, using an applicator. (Help lengthen the life of makeup, by washing hands first before applying)

If you are having trouble with foundations and cover-ups effecting your skin in a bad way, try going with a more natural product like, the one’s that green and glam has to offer.

(SIDE NOTE: If you have kids, it’s inevitable, your girls will probably  play with your makeup. They have Eco Princess line of organic and natural play make up products, for girls. So teach them, that the earlier the young faces learn proper skin care, the longer, great skin will last throughout their lifetime.)

6 Tips to Coping with a Partner’s Incarceration

When a person is incarcerated, their family and friends often serve the sentence right along with them.

The difference is loved ones serve their time on the outside, where they’re expected to continue to handle their responsibilities and shuffle on as if nothing has changed.

Unfortunately, when a spouse or significant other is locked up, life can feel put on hold.

Here, you’ll find six tips to coping with a partner’s incarceration.

If you have concerns about your loved one’s case or lack of quality representation, encourage them to call a respected law firm like Suhre & Associates.

Write Letters Regularly

Sometimes regular visits aren’t feasible. When your partner is out of reach physically, there are many ways to stay in touch.

Develop a routine of regular letter writing. Receiving mail is often one of the few highlights of an inmate’s week, and your letters can help keep your bond strong.

Send a Selfie Every Week

Frequently print updated photos of yourself to include in letters where applicable.

Important: become familiar with the facility’s policy on mail.

Sometimes, only postcards will be given to the inmate. In other cases, long letters and a limited number of photos are allowed.

Plan Phone Calls

It’s difficult for an inmate to pinpoint exactly when they’ll call home, but they often have a time-frame.

Try to rearrange your schedule at least occasionally to accommodate that time-frame. This may be the only way to make sure you connect over the phone regularly.

Your work schedule or problems on your partner’s end will eventually interfere with phone calls; try not to let it ruin your day if and when you miss a call.

Find Support

If your significant other is incarcerated, talking to others in your situation can be helpful.

Join an online forum or find a support group locally that focuses on your situation.

You’ll be surprised how many people are going through this experience. You don’t have to go through this alone.

Pursue Interests and Hobbies

Remember that you are not responsible for your partner’s situation, and you need to provide yourself with distractions until you can be together again.

Do not allow guilt to prevent you from enjoying yourself even when times are tough.

Taking steps to better yourself, further your career or work on hobbies you have been putting off can help you maintain peace of mind.

Keep a Journal

For the length of your partner’s sentence, consider keeping a journal or diary.

You can keep this as a safe place just for you, or you can compile it with the thought of giving it to your loved one when they are released.

It’s entirely up to you how to use this tool, but writing down your frustrations and thoughts can be a healthy way to cope with stress.

In conclusion, making the most of every day and staying busy with things that are meaningful to you should help the time pass more bearably.

Here at TipsfromTia.com we like to provide you tips for things that we know, can be embarrassing or uncomfortable to some of our readers. We know any family going through this situation, deals with a lot of pain. We just offer tips to help and for you to use at your own discretion.
