Hyper Fatigue: How to Manage This New (but Common) Phenomenon
Do you feel like everything is exhausting all of the time? If so, you are not alone. In 2023, the term “hyper fatigue” was coined, which refers to a state of ongoing exhaustion: mentally, physically, and emotionally. It can partly be attributed to the pandemic but also the one-two punches of constant economic and political struggles. To manage hyper fatigue, we have to incorporate a number of different strategies.
Pacing
We can be constantly on the go, and this sense of rushing around is no good for anybody. Therefore, we need to recognize what actually worsens fatigue. This is where pacing can be very useful, which is the practice of alternating periods of activity with rest to provide more even energy levels.
If you are someone who finds it difficult to relax at night because you’ve been going all day, you need to learn effective winding-down routines. Most often, people climb into bed and expect to fall asleep or, at the very least, have good-quality sleep. While there are shortcuts available, such as THC infused gummies that come from cannabis plants and can instantly put you into a relaxation state, you need to also look at the things that contribute to proper rest, much like the next point.
Improve Your Sleep Hygiene
A regular sleep schedule is critical because while so many of us are bound by work life and home life, if there’s one thing that we can do to improve our circadian rhythms—which can have a massive impact on our well-being—it is having proper sleep hygiene. Look at the stimulants you consume close to bedtime, whether it’s alcohol, caffeine, or sugar, and slowly start to move those backward, preferably towards the middle of the day at the latest. You should also look at how you can relax properly at nighttime to get into a solid state of sleep.Â
Many people’s sleep can instantly be improved by the introduction of magnesium into their lives. As magnesium is required for so many different functions in the body, a basic magnesium supplement could be all you need to give your body some extra support in some of the many biochemical reactions in the body, such as muscle and nerve function, blood glucose control, blood pressure, and protein synthesis. On the other hand, a good bedtime routine where you actively focus on winding down could be all you need.
Do Not Be Afraid to Seek Help
If we are constantly rushing around all day, that means we’re not giving ourselves time to focus on ourselves. If you have prolonged fatigue without a root cause and it is impacting your everyday life, you should seek guidance for a proper diagnosis, as this could be the wake-up call you need to make certain changes to your life, even if it is just to relax at home more often.
Hyper fatigue is something that can have a major impact on your life, and therefore, you need to be better at managing the symptoms because, ultimately, we only have one life, so let’s make the most of it.
