Thinking of booking your next vacation? How about heading off to the coast for a few nights? There are some great coastal spots which are popular with travelers and tourists, including the Oregon coast and Manele Bay in Hawaii.

Lots of people head out to the coast to top up their tan or sip fruity cocktails when lounging on the soft sand. But did you know that there are also some reasons why visiting the coastline could do wonders for your health? It’s true! Some people believe that all that sun, sea, and sand is fantastic for mind, body, and soul. Here are some reasons why that is.

Healing Qualities

Did you know that lots of holistic experts believe that sea water has healing properties? There are many naturally occurring minerals in the water which are very good for the skin. After only a few minutes of bathing in the water, you should find that your skin is very smooth indeed! Just make sure that you don’t swallow too much seawater as it has an extremely high salt content!

Relaxing Vibes

Do you feel the need to switch off from modern life and unwind somewhere away from all the noise of the city? Then head to the coast! Peace and quiet is a very important part of holistic care, so there is no wonder that there are now many health centers and rehab facilities located on the coast. Holistic healing will give you the best chance of recovery from a variety of health conditions and complaints. And you won’t feel so bad while you are trying to recover on the coast as you will be surrounded by picturesque scenery!

All That Seafood

There is no doubt that your diet will certainly improve once you hit the coast. That is mainly down to the abundance of all that fresh seafood! Seafood is naturally low in fat and cholesterol so you will find that eating lots of fish and shellfish might bring down your blood pressure. Most seafood is also very high in Omega 3 fatty acids which can really help improve the condition of your brain and joints. It is also very high in protein, so you can eat as much as you want and not worry about filling up on carbs!

Fresh Sea Air

Have you ever heard that getting lots of fresh sea air can help you sleep? It’s an old wives’ tale, but there is actually some truth in it. Lots of people find that they sleep a lot better after a day at the beach, and that is all because of the negative hydrogen ions in the air. Those ions improve the body’s ability to absorb oxygen, which can promote sleep and also kills free radicals. It is these free radicals that are thought to cause cancers.

So, instead of a city break for your next vacation, why not plan a trip to the coast? You will come back extremely rejuvenated after a few days lounging on the beach!

Ways of Implementing Order in Your Life

By Guest Blogger Ian P.

Ways of Implementing Order in Your Life

Growing up means learning how to navigate life in the best way possible and becoming a functioning member of society. At the same time, we all strive to achieve the feeling of holding all (or at least) some strings in our hands. However, it is not uncommon that most people didn’t grow into an organized adult, and they never learned the basics, which now affects their professional and private life. If you are one of those with an iron will, but without the skill or knowledge on where to start, read on as we present to you the four fundamentals of implementing order in your life.

Work on your mindset

First and foremost – start by finding a way to change your outlook. If you’re reading this article, chances are that you’ve struggled with organizing your life before and had little to no success. So perhaps the best way of going about it is to start from yourself. Figure out what stops you from keeping a timely schedule, from an organized room, from doing your chores, or prioritizing things in your life. The reasons can be of all sorts: from serious ones, like depression, to more easily manageable ones, like fatigue, or simple laziness. Take the time to dig in and find the root of your problems, as that is 80% of the battle.

To-do list

When you’re just beginning to organize your life, figuring out how to stay on top of everything can take its toll. More than likely, it’ll be tempting to quit under the pressure of remembering what needs to be done and when. At this early stage, you will want to have a to-do list. Buy yourself a planner, or a single pad if you prefer to keep it simple. Write down what needs to be done, then prioritize the chores. Start small by making daily lists, then gradually evolve to weekly and monthly goals. You will rid yourself of a lot of unnecessary stress.

De-clutter

This probably goes without saying, but the most common type of disorder we all struggle with is the one in our homes. Cluttered rooms contribute to the feeling of disorganization and loss in our own everyday life. The only solution to this problem is to sort everything out. Clear your wardrobe of old clothes, attic and basement of old utilities, unused furniture and unfinished projects. You can give them away to charity, sell them, toss them, or as experts from cheap storage Sydney advise store them until you decide. Don’t pressure yourself into knowing immediately what to do. Most things can have sentimental value and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Online presence

Oddly enough, time spent online can play a huge factor in the lack of order in your life. Take note of how many hours a day you spend on the internet, and whether it is social media, streaming videos, or doing something of substance. What many of us don’t realize is that, while informative and useful, the internet is a wonderful distraction. When we decrease our daily online activities, we find ourselves with a surprising amount of ‘additional’ time for other, perhaps more productive activities. This can be another good way to bring order to your life – eliminate all unnecessary distractions and time-wasting online activities.

Lastly

Take the process easy on yourself. The changes won’t happen over night, but they should be on a steady rise. Get yourself a notepad or a planner, decide on your priorities throughout the day, and clear out all the physical clutter to keep a de-cluttered mind as well. Having a semblance of order in your life is not something you earn once, but a skill used constantly. You simply get better at it, and learn to use your time in a more practical, economical manner.

What You Need to Know if You’re Injured at Work

What You Need to Know if You’re Injured at Work

Getting Injured at work is something no one wants to happen, but if you have ever been involved in a work-related accident then you could be eligible for some sort of financial compensation.

Accidents at work come in all shapes and sizes and all levels of severity, but if you have suffered an accident, due to your work environment and it is affecting your time at home, with your family, carrying out everyday tasks, and even preventing you from going back to work, you should be taking action.

Knowing what you are entitled to when it comes to work-related injuries or accidents, can be rather confusing, so follow our step-by-step action list on what to do should this ever happen to you.

Report all Details

Should you ever be involved in a work accident, where you sustain a major or even a minor injury, the best thing to do immediately afterward is to make sure that you report down all the details. You will want to note down all the details of the accident, a wet floor with no caution cone, a hidden step with no sign, or a car accident where you were carrying out a work-related task. You will want to get all the necessary details down as it is very easy to forget the finer details as time goes by.

All employers should have something called an ‘accident book’. Some employers may be unaware of this, but nevertheless, from your perspective, it should exist. Your employer has an obligation to report all work-related incidents and accidents to the local authority. This is to go some way in ensuring that the same thing doesn’t happen again and that local authorities are monitoring any incidents that happen in the local area.

Personal Injury Claim

Once you’ve figured out why your accident happened you will need to get the ball rolling with your personal injury claim. A personal injury claim is possible for anyone that has been hurt or injured as a direct result of a fault within the work area. So if you are unsure whether you are eligible or not, the best thing for you to do is contact a personal injury lawyer in your area and talk them through your accident and the injuries you have sustained as a result. They will be able to talk you through your rights, and what they think you are entitled to and will be able to talk you through the process.

Who is Responsible?

The blame has to lie somewhere. With any accident, there is a party that has to take responsibility. So after recording all details of the accident and contacting your personal injury lawyer, you will need to be finding out who is to blame for it. Your employer has a legal obligation to ensure top-level health and safety for all their staff, and also their visitors, and all companies should be carrying out regular risk assessments. When this is not done properly, accidents happen and people’s health suffers, so you will need to look into the reasons why your accident happened and then, therefore, who is to blame.
