Problem: Hey Tia! I was planning a “romantic” trip to the beach, but a friend told me not to do it. She said getting sand in places can cause problems. Do you have a tip to prevent that?

Tip from Tia: Hi, thanks for the question and for reading! Yes, your friend is absolutely correct. Getting sand in certain areas can wreak havoc on your balance for a long time causing reoccurring infections. When it comes to sex, you must always take responsibility, and way the heat of the moment, to the consequences.

This irritation can happen just from laying out. But, engaging in certain activities, can push sand into areas. And, if you’ve ever been in the sand, you already know, it gets everywhere.

Prevention is to keep parts covered. But…

If you get off balance from sand and sea, correcting from the inside out is the best way to go. Be sure to drink plenty of water, stay away from things with high sugar content and add in a pro-biotic.

Take a clove oil bath, 6-10 drops of oil in a bath is good. (IMPORTANT: Clove is powerful and can burn if use on it’s own. Be sure to always mix clove oil with water or another carrier oil like olive oil) Soak for at least 10 minutes to try and re-balance your chemistry. Clove is anti-bacterial,  antimicrobial and anti-fungal. Take a soak everyday, for several days to see full results. Do not use if you are allergic to cloves or if you find you become irritated by using the clove oil.

Contact your doctor immediately for further help, if symptoms don’t clear up or you are having serious issues.

The beach may sound romantic, but I would stick to the cocktail on the beach if it’s permitted, and go get your romance (“romance” isn’t usually permitted on the beach) elsewhere; a place with less chance to off balance your body. But, it’s just my opinion.

Self-Esteem Quickie.

Man or woman; we’ve all been guilty of picking on ourselves. Stops picking out the wrong things.

It may sound corny, but some sayings will withstand the test of time, because of the truth they hold. “Nobody can love you unless you love yourself.” And, I’m not talking about being conceded. (it’s hard to love anyone conceded.) I’m talking about looking at who you are inside and out, and loving it. The tip to being good to yourself.

Lot’s of  today’s woes got the world down, but a quick tip to a positive you, is 5 minutes a day in the mirror with your reflection. And reflecting on positive things is what you are doing. Don’t feel silly.

Start simple with what you like about yourself. It may be difficult at first but, try to pick out a physical feature. For example, you like your hair, your eyes, etc. Physical feature should be the first thing is pick out, since it’s usually the hardest for a person to do. Then once you except that, tell yourself about something good you did or something you are good at. Again this may be hard at first, but after participating in “yourself” time a few times, you will begin to feel a better outlook and confidence about yourself.

Adding in this outside project can take your self-esteem even further; look for smiles in the crowd, not faces, but smiles. Identifying happy people in your surrounding will make you a happier person.This is proven.

Smart Phones Make you Smarter? Stupid Tip of the Day:

A majority of us have them. We work and play from them. But, are we connected to something that isn’t the best thing for us?

Despite the name, smart phones have allowed humans to make stupid choices. Stupid choices like, texting and driving, committing stupid crimes to video for the sake of humor and infidelity are just to name a few.

The devices have had benefits as well, being able to locate, look up and connect when being used for good can be a very good thing.

There is good and bad; like any magic, smart phones, social networking and apps come with a price. Studies have just proven the majority of subjects that devote 1 hour daily, “plugged in” dropped their I.Q. by 10 points. Those participants that spent over an hour, were close to dropping 10 points an hour. Those participants that used their smart phones for business or mindful things were less to not effected at all.

Moral of the story. Work out your brain properly. Only devote a small amount of time to social networks if possible. Stay away from mindless activities on the phone for long periods of time. And, when it comes to the kids… Schedule structured time for them to learn and interact face to face with family and peers.

There is a big difference from learning information like recipes on the internet than, scrolling through what someone ate today.
