How to Prevent the Spread of the Nasty Things.

By Tia Cristy

Catching a cold or flu can happen at any time of the year. It’s not just bias to a few choice months during the year. Germs can spread easily and quickly, so the best offense is defense. The same goes for viruses, diseases, infections, STD’s, STI’s that can spread onto surfaces as well. It’s time to prevent germs.

The first line of defense

Make sure your immune system is in a healthy state. Getting the right vitamins like, Vitamin C, and supplements like, Echinacea, along with the right diet can prevent these and the spread of nasty things from touching you, even if you happen to touch them. Always remember to check with your doctor before starting a vitamin or supplement to see if it will work for you.

Second line

Make sure your body and mind are well-rested. A rested body can fight off germs. A well-rested mind that believes the body is healthy can make itself healthy. There is a true study that shows how powerful mind over matter really plays out in the overall health of the human body.

The third line I just discovered

We all know a clean surface is important to keeping the germs at bay. However, sonosupplies.com offers a selection of wipes that are hospital grade that you can use in your home. What makes them different than the typical wipes you’d buy at the grocery store? Well, plenty. They kill the scary stuff that you don’t even want to think about lurking on your door knobs and counters. Our group was a bit nervous to try them after reading the label that stated ‘Not for the skin’ and ‘keep away from food’, but let’s be honest… the other wipes have the same warnings. After getting confirmation from the company that the wipes are safe to use in kitchens and bathrooms, we went to town cleaning everything.

The most pleasant part, I didn’t notice an odor. I noticed freshness. Everything smelled clean. Added bonus… I used wipes on the book case, and haven’t seen the dust pile up like it normally does. The thing to remember when it comes to germs, they are everywhere. We need a little bacteria in our lives, but I’ve decided to add wipes into my cleaning regimen on a weekly basis. If someone has a cold, well, I might use them on a daily until the germs have passed.

Get yourself and your home prepared for that flu season that’s practically around the corner. Get your vitamins and minerals into your core on a daily, be restful while keeping a positive mindset and make sure you keep yourself and your elements around you clean and germ-free as possible.

Instead of Alcohol I can use lime juice? Responses from Tips

Hi M,

Thanks for reading and also thanks for the question. “Tia could you please tell me if instead of Alcohol I can use lime juice? –M” in regard to https://tipsfromtia.com/2012/11/26/how-to-remove-sticky-glue-from-labels-on-cloth.aspx

Lime juice probably isn’t the best way to go. I’ve never tried it, but lime juice itself has sticky properties. Not only that, it is very acidic and can bleach or weaken fabric over time. You could try a
white vinegar, it won’t change the color of the fabric.  Although remember, it’s acidic too and could weaken the fabric over time as well.

I would save the lime juice for a twist in a drink. But in case you didn’t know, lime is great for skin care. Lime fights bacteria and tightens pores. Don’t over use lime juice on your face. (maybe once a week, for sensitive skin) Remember, it’s like a mini acid peel at home.

Thanks again and keep on reading Tips from Tia. Looking good; feeling good!

5 Things to Do Now to Prepare Your Home for the Summer Heat

5 Things to Do Now to Prepare Your Home for the Summer Heat

Thanks to rising temperatures and relentless sunshine, your home can be a haven for numerous unwanted visitors this summer. Accordingly, taking the proper pest control steps is of the utmost importance. Along with seeking professional assistance, there are a few things you can do to ensure your home is safeguarded against all manner of pests from this summer to the next.

  1. Keep Indoors Clean

Spring is a time of renewal, which is why so many choose this season to tidy up their homes. Spring cleaning does more than just make your home presentable for that all-important first barbecue; it also deprives insects of hiding spots in areas filled with clutter and debris. Clear out closets, disinfect kitchens and bathrooms, and make sure crumbs are properly cleaned up.

  1. Check Out Window Screens

Window screens are designed to let in the cool breeze while keeping pests out. However, splits and tears in your screens means that insects will be free to come and go as they please. That’s why it’s recommended that you check out each and every screen in your home to make sure they can serve their intended purpose.

  1. Shore Up Cracks in Caulking

Cracked seals around doors and windows are another problem area when it comes to pests taking up residence. Take a moment to look over these fixtures to ensure their seals are holding steady. If you notice any issues you can reinforce the seal using a little caulking purchased at your local hardware store.

  1. Remove Standing Water

When it comes to the outdoors, you can keep mosquitoes at bay by removing any standing water on your property. This includes areas like birdbaths, kiddie pools, or any surfaces under leaking pipes. Not only are mosquitoes irritating, they can also carry pathogens capable of causing disease and illness to both pets as well as humans.

One bite from an infected mosquito can result in months of hospital time and recovery. Zika, Malaria, Yellow Fever, and Encephalitis are diseases transmitted by this little insect. Because wet areas are their preferred breeding grounds, paying attention to your surroundings would be best. A mosquito control company will be the most reliable way to resolve any infestation in or around your home.

  1. Call Out the Professionals

Of course, even your best efforts may fail to remove all those unwanted pests in your life. That’s why it’s a good idea to hire a professional technician just to make sure your home is secure against the threat of insects. A technician will identify any potential problem areas before infestation occurs, which will save both time and money in the long run.

Your home is your castle, and like any good lord or lady of the manner you decide who stays and who goes. Contact exterminators near me for more information on how you can prevent your abode from being overrun by unwanted guests.

3 Ways To Successfully Market Your eBook

3 Ways To Successfully Market Your eBook

Thanks to the rise of eBooks, it’s never been easier to have your voice heard. These works are also commonly used as marketing materials for tech-heavy business endeavors, such as e-commerce businesses or mobile app development companies. Whether your book was conceived as a passion project or to promote a larger project, you’ll want it to reach as many people as it possibly can. Below are a few tips for eBook authors looking for the best strategy to make their latest work a success.

List it on Amazon

There’s a reason Amazon is arguably the most ubiquitous eBook distribution platform out there; it makes searching for, purchasing and opening digital books extremely easy for customers. It’s also easy to use on the author’s end. Listing an eBook on their Kindle marketplace is extremely easy, completely free, offers too much of a boost to visibility for any apprehensive writer to pass up.

Amazon also allows authors to track their sales with far more accuracy than most publishing platforms, allowing for close examination of the effects of any other marketing efforts in use at a particular time. The most effective marketing channels, mediums and audiences can then easily be identified and put to use next time you need to promote a similar effort.

Harness the Power of ‘Free’

Everyone loves getting something for free – even if it’s not something the person in question particularly wanted from the outset, the lack of risk makes it hard to turn the prospect down. This means that eBook authors can get their foot in the door with potential customers by offering them a taste of what they’ll be getting in the full product.

The most common way for authors to do this is to distribute an excerpt of their book (a few paragraphs, a few pages, or even a few chapters) for free through highly visible channels. Sometimes, though, it makes sense to go even further; limited-time giveaways of the entire book can help to drum up interest and get the book off to a strong start on the sales charts. If it’s an eBook made primarily for marketing purposes, it may even be most effective to keep it free indefinitely in exchange for a bit of user information (usually an email address).

Whichever of these options the author decides to go with, they should then list their book on a few of the many sites that list eBook freebies to take advantage of the free publicity that will get them. This must be done at least a few days in advance of the release date in order to ensure that the listing appears just as the book hits the virtual shelves.

Make Use of Social Media and Internet

Not everyone is interested in every possible eBook topic; for example, a 70-year-old woman who has never used a smartphone is unlikely to care much about a book on mobile app. She might enjoy a book about needlepoint patterns produced by a crafting blog, however.

The most important part of getting any eBook to sell is to get it seen by the right people. That’s where social media and internet comes in to market eBook. Because users have already formed themselves into shared-interest groups through indicators such as Likes and hashtags, it’s easy to find and reach these people with the click of a mouse. That’s where marketers come in, right marketing team can quickly spread the word. So that your eBook can reach proper demographics. This strategy works particularly well for eBooks because its well targeted.

In today’s busy market, all eBooks face stiff competition for readership. So, authors owe it to themselves to do everything they can to tip the scales in favor of their own work. By the end  a few simple promotional steps now can make a big difference to your eBook sales results in the future, so don’t let the opportunity pass you by.
