Tummy Talk! 4 Ways To Improve Your Digestive Health

Do you ever get that feeling of bloating in your stomach? If it’s a very common thing in your life, you’re not alone, but if it has got to the point where you are feeling full of indigestion every single day or that bloating doesn’t go away, it’s important to learn how to improve your digestive health. The benefits of digestive health are not just for your stomach, but they can have an impact on your health in general. Let’s show you some simple ways to improve your digestion.

Being “Regular” With High Fiber Foods

If you struggle to have the optimum amount of fruit and vegetables, you can put more into a smoothie or cold press juice. The great thing about fiber is that you can turn it into an instantly delicious drink. This turmeric juice is a wonderful way to speed up your digestion. But when you start adding fiber to your diet, remember to start slowly. You should also increase how much water you drink. As fiber soaks up water, this will reduce any cramping or gas. But it’s not just water you should have, but you can use juice and broth to make things better for your digestive system.

Be Mindful of How You Eat

It is such a very simple thing, but if you are always in a rush and trying to eat as much food as possible before you get on the move, this could very well be causing you digestive problems. One of the best things to help your digestion is to eat smaller amounts slower. Chewing your food thoroughly makes it easier on your digestive system, but it’s also a great way to realize when you are feeling full. Many people eat much more than their body needs. When we start to eat slower, we are able to absorb nutrients better, but it also helps us pay attention to our bodies.

Probiotics and Prebiotics

There has been a lot of talk with regards to probiotics and how they can improve your gut bacteria. If you are taking medication that strips away gut bacteria, such as antibiotics, this can be the reason why you struggle to digest things properly. When you start to eat more yogurts and fermented foods, you are giving your body more probiotics, but you should also think about feeding the good bacteria in your gut with prebiotic foods, such as garlic, onions, and sweet potatoes.

Pay Attention to Trigger Foods

If there are certain foods that make you feel uncomfortable, make a note of it, and gradually you can begin to whittle down the underlying foods that are causing you problems. Many people are more intolerant to foods, such as dairy and gluten these days, and undertaking an elimination diet can give you a better idea of the foods you need to remove, so you can feel healthier.

It is not just about having a healthy diet, but it could also be about making sure that you are more active. As you can see, there are a number of different methods that could help. The best thing to do is to try one approach at a time and see if it makes a difference.

5 Tips for Making Your New Year’s Resolution Stick

5 Tips for Making Your New Year’s Resolution Stick

pixabay

It’s easy to make ambitious goals for the new year, but the challenge is sticking to them. 2021 could be a tough year to keep new year’s resolutions, and you might need extra motivation. Often people make the same resolutions they failed to keep last year, so how are you going to make this year different? It’s important to remember your motivations, set realistic goals, and reward yourself for any achievements big or small. Here are five tips for making your new year’s resolutions stick.

List your motivations

Whatever your new year’s resolutions may be, whether it’s to learn something new, or give up old habits, make a list of why you’re doing it. This could be to stay healthy in 2021, develop professionally, or saving money. If you keep reminding yourself of your motivation for setting these goals it might make it easier to achieve them. You could even keep a list in your bedroom or somewhere you’re likely to see it.

Book a course

If your new year’s resolution is to learn something new, then what are you waiting for? Book a course. Once you get professionals involved it’ll be harder to quit. If you’ve decided to take up a new activity such as dance, book Dance Classes, or if you’re aiming for professional development, book a training course online. This way, it’ll be more official and you’ll be motivated to succeed.

Break them down into steps

One of the tricks many people use to boost their productivity is to break down a project into tasks. You can apply the same approach to your new year’s resolutions. Don’t aim to achieve too much too soon. Set yourself steps to follow and reward yourself as you progress.

Reward yourself

Congratulate yourself for any goals you achieve, big or small. You could even create a reward system. It’s important to maintain a positive attitude rather than punishing yourself. Be proud of what you’ve already achieved and this will encourage you to go further. It’s up to you how you decide to reward yourself. Treat yourself to a bit of online shopping, or a special meal. Many people get satisfaction from simply checking goals off a list, so you could also try this.

Learn from the past

Take a look back to the past and try to learn from your mistakes. Any time you fail to achieve your goal, think of it as a positive step. Failure and success go hand in hand and each attempt gives you the opportunity to learn something. Perhaps you set yourself unrealistic goals last year and can make them more manageable this year, for example.

Always remember not to be too hard on yourself. New year’s resolutions shouldn’t be about punishment. Life goals are important to keep you motivated but don’t neglect self-care. Be happy with what you’ve achieved so far rather than striving for perfection. With a positive attitude, you’ll be able to persevere and finally make your new year’s resolutions stick this year.

4 Ways To Beat The Pain Of Aging

4 Ways To Beat The Pain Of Aging

Pixabay – CC0 Licence

Although it happens to everybody, it’s still hard to get used to the fact that you’re no longer a spring chicken. The mental aspect is the worst part because it will never go away unless you deal with your emotions. Of course, your thoughts are triggered by your body, which is currently aching under the strain of getting older!

The soreness is unpleasant and adds to the problems, yet it doesn’t have to. By beating the pains of aging, or at least making them less intense, you can lead a fuller and happier life, regardless.

Alter Your Diet

What you eat impacts how you feel because food is the energy you use to tackle everyday life. Without the right juice or the correct amount, you’ll feel tired and less comfortable. The good news is, there is a clinically-proven method called Autoimmune Protocol that can help. Why? As Kristen Blake Wellness says, the diet focuses on nutrient density to replete missing nutrients the immune system and body need to function properly. Immune system inefficiency occurs as you age, so it’s imperative to top-up your essential bodily systems to remain fit and healthy.

Consider Low-Impact Exercise

Another area that isn’t as strong as you get older is your joints. Unfortunately, they have taken years of strain, and, as a result, are less effective. Okay, you’re not on the hunt for a hip or knee replacement, yet you would still like to exercise without feeling as if your body will explode afterward! As the name suggests, low-impact workout sessions are designed to take the pressure off your aching joints, allowing you to burn calories without experiencing an uncomfortable sensation. For those who don’t know where to begin, this Everyone Active list is packed with incredibly powerful activities for every level.

Invest In A Mattress Topper

If your back is hurting, you have probably slept at a funny angle. The sad thing is, it doesn’t take much to wake up with a bad back as you age. Again, your joints can’t handle the strain, which results in sharp pains and dull aches. The key is to spread your weight evenly to ensure no part of the body is working harder than the other, and a mattress topper does it brilliantly. By forming to your shape and weight, you should have fewer problems in the morning, other than wanting to stay under the duvet!

Lift Weights

Lifting weights might seem like a bad idea, but it’s imperative. This is because you lose bone density as you age, something that leads to aches and pains in the joints, tendons, and ligament. Sadly, you can’t prevent or rebuild density by eating healthily or doing cardio. The only proven way for older men and women to fix the problem is to pump iron. Of course, you need to go at your pace by choosing weights that suit your style. For example, dumbbells are fine, and you can use them to train everything from your upper and lower-body to your core.

The trick to beat aging is to accept it happens and do your best to stay in shape.

Looking To Make A Change? Tips To Stay Healthy In 2021

Looking To Make A Change? Tips To Stay Healthy In 2021

Now that we’re a few days into 2021, and the Christmas goodies such as chocolate and wine have been demolished, you may be thinking about giving your New Year’s resolution of becoming fitter and healthier a go. Here are some tips to do exactly that!

https://www.pexels.com/photo/sporty-woman-in-sportswear-with-yoga-mat-on-pathway-4457913/

Find the motivation

Step one of any lifestyle change is finding real motivation to begin your journey towards your goals. You may want that little black dress to fit nicely, but do you want it enough right now to kickstart you into your journey? If the answer is no, try taping an old picture of you with your desired body weight next to a photo of yourself now around your home in places such as your wardrobe, the bathroom mirror, and on the fridge. This is a great way to help motivate yourself to take necessary steps towards your lifestyle change.

Take supplements

Supplements are perfect for helping maintain your level of health, and can even help repair your body fast if you’ve been injured in an accident. Consider adding supplements to your food to pack in more nutrition in your diet. Alternatively, you could start each day by taking a multivitamin to help boost your body’s natural abilities and even accelerate your weight loss.

Keep a food diary

It’s easy to think that you don’t eat a bad diet, but have you ever noted down everything you eat in a day? Spend a few weeks writing everything down that you’ve eaten, and how you were feeling at the time. You may begin to notice patterns such as emotional eating, and you may even find yourself surprised at how many calories you actually consume in a day. Having this information in front of you will also allow you to create a healthy, balanced meal plan that’s going to help you lose weight without feeling deprived of food. If you’re not sure how many calories you need to eat (or not eat) check your BMI online to find out how many calories you need to eat to lose weight at a healthy pace.

Up your water intake

Water is so detrimental to the human body, yet many of us fail to drink the recommended amount each day. Upping your water intake to 2 liters a day (more if you’re exercising) will help boost your weight loss, improve your moods, and help clear any problematic skin you may be experiencing. Water also helps flush any toxins out of the body, allowing your body to absorb the nutritious diet you’re now eating.

Try a new exercise

Finally, exercise can seem like a chore if you really don’t enjoy it, and that’s completely understandable! Everyone is different, and some people simply aren’t made for running or jogging, and will benefit from other exercises such as swimming or group activities. Experiment with different exercises to find one that you look forward to rather than dread, and avoid putting it off altogether which would take you back to square one.

The Luxurious Lifestyle Can Be More Affordable Than You Think

The Luxurious Lifestyle Can Be More Affordable Than You Think

We all dream about living the good life. For most of us, though, the financial elements make it seem out of reach. The good news, however, is that you can enjoy life’s luxuries without being a millionaire.

As long as the right plans are in place, living the champagne lifestyle on a prosecco budget will no longer be a bad thing. Here are the key focal points for guaranteed success.

Buying The Luxury Home

A super stylish and modern home is the ultimate luxury. Building your dream property from scratch is an idea that takes those vibes to whole new levels. It can be a lot cheaper than you think too. Look for a fixed price home building contract to ensure that you understand the full financial picture. If you need to keep costs down, it’s always possible to use a blueprint that incorporates room for future extensions. Perhaps to satisfy your long-term goal of starting a family. Another option is to buy a fixer-upper on the cheap before renovating in style.

Make Vacations Cheaper

An Instagram feed packed with snaps from vacations instantly evokes feelings of envy. Trips don’t have to be expensive. Visiting exotic locations out of season can make a huge impact on the costs. Moreover, holiday rental properties can save you a lot of money on accommodation. Adventure holidays facilitated by driving a motorhome or RV can work wonders too. The vehicle will require an initial outlay but can become a fantastic investment over the years. Besides, you can’t put a price on the magical memories.

Take Care Of Your Health & Beauty

Attractive people lead better lifestyles whether we like it or not. Taking control of your fitness and beauty rituals will provide a foundation for success. Similarly, understanding your fashion choices and hairstyles can unlock a far better appearance. In turn, people will think you have your life under control and may assume that you are financially well off. It’s a weird sensation, but the human mind works in mysterious ways. Better still, looking and feeling better will unlock a far happier future.

Create Luxury With Side Hustles

A side hustle can improve your financial situation, which can aid your financial health. Meanwhile, you can use this as a way to do something luxurious. Manufacturing or sourcing exclusive goods may be your ticket to meeting famous people. Likewise, becoming an events manager or media person can achieve similar goals. Leading a luxurious lifestyle can mean experiencing things that other people do not get to do. This is the perfect example and could potentially open the door to quitting your main job too.

Stop The Need To Own

Society leads us to think that ownership is everything. However, there are many situations in which rentals and hire agreements are better. They allow your money to work harder in the short-term and save the financial issues linked to depreciation. Car leasing is probably the best example. Not least because you’ll want to change vehicles every few years to maintain the sense of luxury. However, there are many other situations that deserve this approach too.

Shape Up

Shape Up

It’s about time body-shamers have been knocked off their soapboxes. We are all beautiful, no matter our shape or size. As long as we are getting a clean bill of health from the doctor and feeling our best, no one has the right to tell us how we should look. It’s all about embracing ourselves: Mind, Spirit and Body.

The Mind

https://www.shapellx.com/collections/waist-trainer/products/neosweat-camouflage-waist-trainer-belt

Keeping a clear, level head is important. Stress levels are at an all-time high, wreaking havoc on our health. When the mind gets stressed through work, what is happening in the world or even as simple as driving during rush hour, it can cause serious, major damage to the heart and the brain. So, try reducing the stress in positive ways. Take a long bath, take a calm drive to see the ocean, throw on a Shapellx waist trainer and do some exercises… But remember, it all starts with telling the mind, ‘We’re not going to stress over this, right now’. Stop seeking out a problem or a battle and try to start looking for the silver lining in every situation.

The Spirit

Most people go straight to religion. But spirit is so much more than that. Your spirit is what other people see when you have drive, passion, love… Some folks call it your aura, others may say it’s your overall presence. The fact is, you will believe what you believe. But remember to nourish your spirit with happy stories, donating your time to others in need and simply being the miracle that this world needs. And don’t forget to take some quality time for yourself. Slip on a thong shapewear bodysuit under your favorite, fitted dress and treat yourself to a fancy dinner or take a spa day to rejuvenate your soul. All of these things have been known to help relieve stress and cause remission for certain aliments.

The Body

https://www.shapellx.com/collections/panties/products/airslim-seamless-thong-bodysuit available in beige or black

You were given a certain body type. Embrace what your momma gave you! When it comes to curves, sure, we all want the right ones in the right places. Shapers can help achieve the results we want when workouts aren’t giving us the results as fast as we would like them to. A waist shaper for women has been known to help make those sexy curves more permanent when working out with a shaper on. Just remember to be good to your body. Believe it or not, it’s important what you put in it as well as put on your body to achieve overall incredible health.

Overloading yourself with good vibes and positive actions can save your life. It might sound exaggerated or impossible, but the proof is out there. There have been studies proving that a majority of people who live less stressed and more generous with their time, understanding and compassion tend to live longer healthier lives. Why not give it a try?

What’s A Creative Bubble For Freelancers?

What’s A Creative Bubble For Freelancers?

The pandemic has encouraged a lot of people to tap into their creative side and express themselves through arts. Whether it is painting, writing, or singing, embracing our creativity has offered us a unique experience of self-discovery. It’s easy to understand why. Being creative can soothe the mind. During a stressful period such as the pandemic, picking up your paintbrushes or your typewriter has helped cope with the situation. You might even find that you’ve developed a taste for it. There’s nothing stopping you from turning your creative hobby into a side hustle.

But if you’re going to be serious about making creativity pay the bills, you need to consider your creative space. Does the quirky office make the writer or the artist? The answer may surprise you: You don’t need to invest in additional quirkiness and designing tips to turn your home office into a creative cave. Making creativity work for you means building an environment that supports it.

Creativity needs a structure

If you are not familiar with Stephen King’s writing advice, the prolific master of horror swears by a creative routine. He assures aspiring writers (and other creative enthusiasts) to set a work routine and stick to it: https://tipsfromtia.com/2020/07/working-at-home-when-the-going-gets-tough-what-do-you-do/. King recommends working on your creative hustle every day during the hours where you’re at your most productive. Your schedule will act as the backbone for your imagination. You can build on it and expand to write, paint, compose, etc. , all the amazing things you’ve got in mind. Your creative working hours are the time of the day when you can bring ideas to life. Therefore, you need to take them seriously and maintain your creative program.

Creativity is the art of connecting to your inner world

Creativity comes from within. It is a tool that lets you express your inner voice and your emotions. As such, your creative space needs to optimize free access to your thoughts. What does it mean to gain access to your ideas? You’d assume that you take your thoughts with you anywhere you go. In reality, we spend very little time exploring our minds. Day-to-day life can be distracting. Making room for your creativity begins with distraction-free settings, from removing noise pollution with adequate sound-proofing insulation as per https://www.insulatekansascity.com/sound-proofing-insulation/ to keeping your smartphone out of the room. A peaceful environment promotes the appropriate introspective mood for creativity.

Creativity means a healthy brain

Ultimately, creativity is a process that happens entirely in the brain. That’s why it’s important to give your brain all the nutrients it needs to perform. Brain foods can help make quicker connections and keep your memory strong. What difference does it make to a creative individual? Cognitive connections, for instance, refer to your ability to expand on ideas and build a new path of thoughts. Being creative is, ultimately, the process of bringing new ideas, and therefore making new connections inside the brain.

Your creative bubble provides a positive environment that promotes the contemplation of your inner world. Of course, it is a daunting process. The first step of making creativity work for you is the hardest, as you build a new path for your thoughts to roam freely. But building a creative side hustle can be a rewarding process as you can bring your ideas to life.

Working at Home: When the Going Gets Tough, What Do You Do?

Working at Home: When the Going Gets Tough, What Do You Do?

‘When the going gets tough, the tough get going.’

In the middle of a global health crisis and social unrest in most parts of the globe, the admittedly overused quote reminds you to persevere and find ways to come out stronger. That is particularly challenging when you’ve been stuck at home for months to prevent getting infected by the coronavirus.

Working from home might have doubled your coffee consumption to stay alert for Zoom calls and all-nighters. You might be lathering on an extra pump of hair loss shampoo to make up for all the times you frustratingly pull on your own hair throughout the day because of seemingly never-ending tasks.

It’s a tough situation. But it won’t go away by deciding to toughen up your exterior and focus on what you need to do. You might find it even more stressful when you keep blinders on and disregard self-care.

The lines of work-life balance might be blurred now that you’re working at home for an extended period. And the best way you can reconstruct and sharpen those lines is by being strict with yourself.

Take a look at these ways to make space between your work and personal lives at home.

Set a work schedule and stick to it.

One of the best things about working at the office is that you’re free once your eight hours are done. When you work from home, on the other hand, it might feel like your workday never ends.

Observe your work patterns to determine your most productive hours. Work during those hours, shut down your computer when your shift is done, and turn it into a routine. Stick to this schedule to maintain that same level of freedom that you used to feel in the office whenever you clock out.

Stay connected but limit social media.

Social isolation is one of the worst enemies when you work at home, especially now that the coronavirus situation is forcing us to stay at home and away from social gatherings.

It’s easy to lose energy and enthusiasm when you feel alone, so make time for regular video calls or text messaging with your closest family and friends. Just be mindful of social media usage. Too much time online tends to make you lose focus on your work.

Never sacrifice your sleep hours.

You might think it’s okay to stay up late every night because you don’t have to get up extra early to prepare for work. But the next thing you know, it’s 3 AM, and your shift starts in five hours.

Irregular sleep patterns affect your concentration and productivity throughout the day. You might not feel it, but your body is struggling to keep you moving, and your mind is working overtime to keep you awake. So be mindful of those sleep hours and be strict with bedtime.

The novelty of working from home wore out a couple of months ago. Now you’re faced with stressors like the lack of structure, blurred boundaries between work and leisure hours, and social isolation. These tips help you manage the stress of working at home. Be strict with yourself to be productive.

So when the going gets tough, don’t hesitate to toughen up.

Three Reasons Why It’s Important To Take A Break From Tech

Three Reasons Why It’s Important To Take A Break From Tech

Technology has been a wonderful thing in our lives, it has meant that we can stay connected to people all over the world, we can send emails in seconds, video chat with people on the other side of the world and find out news instantly and from all over like never before. However, with all the benefits our laptops, smartphones, and tablets bring, they have also brought a lot of stress and anxiety to people’s lives, and they are not always good for our health. People have become so reliant on their phones that a new cell phone law has been introduced as many people cannot cope for a couple of hours without using their phones. How did we cope before we had phones? There are many reasons why we need to take a break from tech, and here are three of them.

To better connect with people.

While you might think that you are connecting with people on your phone, you’re not – not properly. If you put your phone down, you can connect with those people you are with in real life. It’s easy to think you’re connecting with someone because you’re sat having dinner with them, but if you’re constantly looking at your phone or even just aware of your phone, then you’re not giving the other person your full attention. Have some time where you switch off your phone and spend time with people, get them to turn theirs off too, and see what a difference it makes. If you find that you’re struggling to make conversation, then it shows that you’ve been spending too much time on your phone and is definitely time to take a break.

You’ll be more productive.

For many things you need technology to get the job done, but how many times do you go to look something up and then get distracted by notifications and end up down a rabbit hole watching Youtube videos that are completely irrelevant to what you wanted to do in the first place and in fact you have forgotten what you were going to do in the first place. If you have jobs you need to do, turn the notifications on your mobile phone off, close down your social media pages on your computer, and cut down the distractions so that you can focus on whatever it is you want to achieve.

You’ll reduce stress. Being connected 24/7 is very stressful, whether it’s work who can contact you or it’s you checking your work emails all the time, there’s never time to switch off. Not only that, but too much time on social media means that many people are experiencing higher levels of anxiety from comparing themselves to other people and constantly feeling the pressure of how they look in their photos or what they are doing with their lives. Using technology can also disrupt your sleep, which is no good for stress, so it’s a good idea to turn off at least an hour before bed and read a book. Start doing this, and you’ll soon begin to feel less stressed.

Neighborhood Watch: Why Nearby Crime Needn’t Take Control Out Of Your Hands

Neighborhood Watch: Why Nearby Crime Needn’t Take Control Out Of Your Hands

We all deserve to feel safe and secure at home. Our houses are our sanctuaries, after all, which is why it can be so devastating when crime casts its ugly shadow across our neighborhoods.

No matter how near or far, crimes in the vicinity can shatter any feeling of safety you might once have felt. Irrelevant of their severity, you may start experiencing difficulty sleeping or anxiety when you leave your house empty during the day.

This is no way to live, and it could soon see you losing control of the calming space that you’ve created. You may even consider selling up as a result! Yet, given how extreme a lifestyle change moving can be, it isn’t practical or even affordable for many.

Does that mean you’re doomed to checking your locks twenty times before you go out? Not at all. It merely means you might want to consider taking back control of your home safety in the following ways.

# 1 – See this as a warning

Nearby crime is never pleasant, but it can also act as a cold and hard warning to make home safety a priority. This should be the case whether recent crimes are on your mind or not, of course, but it’s surprising how many of us neglect all but the most basic safety precautions unless we’re moving into an area we already know is dodgy. Instead of stressing out after crime, then, focus on the fact that this gives you an incentive to install alarm systems and CCTV for returned control as you see fit.

# 2 – Know your escape route

If the crime in question involved home intrusion, it’s also worth reclaiming control by planning an escape route should the same happen to you. Knowing, for instance, how quickly you can get to your back door could provide some peace of mind. You could also take the time to find the best bug out bag for storing near that exit point to guarantee survival as you wait for help to arrive. These steps may seem extreme from the outset, but you’d be amazed how much better you’ll sleep just knowing this option is there.

# 3 – Focus on community

Many of us don’t even know our neighbors to say hello to these days, let alone look out for. Yet, focusing on community in the aftermath of crime can help everyone feel safer again. After all, you won’t feel half as alone in coping if you know your neighbors are keeping an eye out and vice versa. Even better, achieving this benefit is as easy as joining local community groups to express your worries, or setting up one of your own to address the crime in question and any fears it’s caused among residents.

Some sense of lost control is inevitable when criminals make their mark on your community, but there’s no reason to let this issue spiral. Instead, put these pointers in place and take control of your home safety once again.
