Dry Skin, Dry Hair, Dry Nails

DRY SKIN, DRY HAIR, DRY NAILS

It’s been a fairly mild season for a lot of regions, which is nice when it comes to the health of our bodies. Did you know that harsh weather can wreak havoc on our skin, hair and nails. However, due to the pandemic, several other factors are terrorizing these things instead.

Washing hands is a MUST

Since the beginning of the sweep of Covid-19, health officials have agreed on one thing… Washing hands. It’s necessary to wash our hands much more frequently and for a long period of time than ever before. Ergo, our hands can become extremely dry and cracked, which isn’t good when it comes to any kind of virus or bacteria that could creep in through little cuts in the skin.

Prevention is key

Keeping our hands from cracking and staying clean is the goal. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. Next apply a moisturizer of some kind. My favorite is Argan Oil. It’s light. It dries quickly without leaving a thick, oily residue behind. A little goes a long way… a drop will do you well. And best part, Argan Oil can be used on other parts of the body, including the scalp and hair!

Stop falling out

During the pandemic, a common theme of hair loss has been reported for those that haven’t gotten sick. Quarantine hair loss is a thing. It’s a strange phenomenon that no one can really explain. Is it a deficiency in vitamins or a lack of sunshine? Is it just as simple as common hair loss brough on by stress? Argan Oil is a natural strengthener to hair and is nurturing to the scalp. Again, a little goes a long way. But before you try to douse your head in Argan, be sure to do a test spot on the back of your wrist to make sure you don’t have any adverse reactions. Practice safety first, always.

Natural nails

With the closing and reopening of salons, who knows when it’s possible to get a refill on the nails? Some have asked is it even worth taking the risk of COVID-19 exposure since no one is seeing my nails but me? That’s a question only you can answer for yourself. But many have gone all natural with their nails over the last several months. Repairing the insult of what we can put our nails through just to look fabulous can take some time and patience. And lots of nourishment. Argan oil can help with that, too. Pack with vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties, Argan has the ability to strengthen nails and heal damage. Another bonus, Argan can help treat nail fungus, naturally.

It’s no secret that I love this little bottle packed with so many benefits. I have written about the magic of this oil many times. But if you want to take a chance on winning your own bottle from Green Esthetics… Send an email with your name and address to Tia@TipsfromTia.com Subject: Argan Oil.

Rediscovering The Spark In Your Relationship In Spite Of Covid-19

Rediscovering The Spark In Your Relationship In Spite Of Covid-19

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted all of our lives in a big way. This is particularly noticeable for couples, and reduced levels of romance are a very common issue. Unfortunately, ignoring the problem won’t suddenly make it disappear. You need to tackle the issue head-on by putting the spark and excitement back into the relationship.

There’s no escaping the fact that the continued limitations caused by the pandemic will pose obstacles. Nonetheless, the following steps will give you the best shot at getting love back on track.

Make Time For Home Dates

If you’re both working from home, your schedules are probably up in the air. This can lead to a situation where you are cohabiting, but not coliving. It will take a conscious effort to rectify this issue. Try to find time where you can sit down for a home date night. Whether it’s watching a film, eating a romantic meal, or doing something creative together doesn’t matter. The time spent together can bring romance back into your lives while also making the home surroundings more enjoyable. This is the perfect starting point.

Get A Break From The Norm

The chances of jetting off for a vacation are a lot less likely than usual. And, quite frankly, you could probably use the break more than ever. Simply giving yourself a chance to forget about the stresses of daily life and concentrate on each other will work wonders. Even if it’s just a day trip or weekend away to the next town. Hire a luxury vehicle from experts at Burswood Car Rentals and take a road trip. A little spontaneity goes a long way, even if your options for attractions are limited. In many ways, making your own entertainment maybe even better.

Turn Off Social Media

Social media can undoubtedly play a positive role in our lives. Right now, though, life is hard. So, seeing influencers post their seemingly perfect lives can create an inferiority complex. In turn, it can make you question whether your relationship is enough. In truth, it probably is but has become a victim of the warped view you’ve gained.

Taking a social media detox will give you time to focus on each other. You can still stay in contact with loved ones via other tech means, like video chat. Your mindsets will undergo a significant transformation. You might even find you’re ready to buy a rose gold hidden halo engagement ring so you can propose!

Enjoy Hobbies Together

Getting to know your lover is very exciting at the start of a relationship. Sadly, there is a very strong chance that you’ve stopped sharing those moments together. Take it in turns to introduce each other to your passions. Whether it’s listening to a band, enjoying a certain type of art, cooking, or playing Fortnite doesn’t matter. The love of those activities is still a very attractive feature, and partners can learn to love the activities too. When you find a good balance between his and her pastimes, love and laughs will be restored.

Seek Expert Help

There is nothing wrong with accepting that your relationship needs help at any time. However, these unprecedented times mean that there is even less shame or guilt involved. While most people naturally jump straight to the idea of therapy, it’s not the only option. Speaking to couples that have experienced the same difficulties, such as being unable to get away from each other, can feel comforting. The fact you want to fight for your love shows that there is still something there. Do not forget it.

5 Tips for Making Your New Year’s Resolution Stick

5 Tips for Making Your New Year’s Resolution Stick

It’s easy to make ambitious goals for the new year, but the challenge is sticking to them. 2021 could be a tough year to keep new year’s resolutions, and you might need extra motivation. Often people make the same resolutions they failed to keep last year, so how are you going to make this year different? It’s important to remember your motivations, set realistic goals, and reward yourself for any achievements big or small. Here are five tips for making your new year’s resolutions stick.

List your motivations

Whatever your new year’s resolutions may be, whether it’s to learn something new, or give up old habits, make a list of why you’re doing it. This could be to stay healthy in 2021, develop professionally, or saving money. If you keep reminding yourself of your motivation for setting these goals it might make it easier to achieve them. You could even keep a list in your bedroom or somewhere you’re likely to see it.

Book a course

If your new year’s resolution is to learn something new, then what are you waiting for? Book a course. Once you get professionals involved it’ll be harder to quit. If you’ve decided to take up a new activity such as dance, book Dance Classes, or if you’re aiming for professional development, book a training course online. This way, it’ll be more official and you’ll be motivated to succeed.

Break them down into steps

One of the tricks many people use to boost their productivity is to break down a project into tasks. You can apply the same approach to your new year’s resolutions. Don’t aim to achieve too much too soon. Set yourself steps to follow and reward yourself as you progress.

Reward yourself

Congratulate yourself for any goals you achieve, big or small. You could even create a reward system. It’s important to maintain a positive attitude rather than punishing yourself. Be proud of what you’ve already achieved and this will encourage you to go further. It’s up to you how you decide to reward yourself. Treat yourself to a bit of online shopping, or a special meal. Many people get satisfaction from simply checking goals off a list, so you could also try this.

Learn from the past

Take a look back to the past and try to learn from your mistakes. Any time you fail to achieve your goal, think of it as a positive step. Failure and success go hand in hand and each attempt gives you the opportunity to learn something. Perhaps you set yourself unrealistic goals last year and can make them more manageable this year, for example.

Always remember not to be too hard on yourself. New year’s resolutions shouldn’t be about punishment. Life goals are important to keep you motivated but don’t neglect self-care. Be happy with what you’ve achieved so far rather than striving for perfection. With a positive attitude, you’ll be able to persevere and finally make your new year’s resolutions stick this year.

Top Things That Can Lead to a Breakdown for Your Car

Top Things That Can Lead to a Breakdown for Your Car

Owning a car is seen as an investment, which if not looked after can fail and breakdown. Having some idea of what could lead to a breakdown will help you to maintain the car better and try and prevent this. Breakdowns are highly inconvenient, especially if they happen when you are in a rush or on your way somewhere like work. And you don’t always want to rely on Subaru maintenance or your local garage to help you. So making sure they are as limited as possible is very helpful for your day-to-day drives.

If you are unsure what the top causes of breakdown are then hopefully these few tips will give you an idea, so you can keep an idea on them in the future to try and prevent your breakdown disaster.

Car battery

Car batteries are one of the leading causes of breakdowns so keeping them maintained and knowing what to keep an eye out for will really help in reducing your chances of a breakdown. Batteries can go flat for a number of things mainly leaving your car unused for a period of time, faulty part, cars charging system is faulty, fault with the actual battery, and the age of the battery. These are the main causes which aren’t exactly easy to track but getting battery checks or turning the car over even if not using the car can help to keep the battery working and stop those breakdowns.

Damaged Tyres

Flat tyres like battery failure is a common and annoying event, usually, a flat tyre is caused because a sharp object has entered it somewhere and caused it to deflate. Other reasons you could get a flat is the tyre’s valve failing, if you hit a deep pothole or curb, collision, and worn old tyres. Keeping an eye on your tyres can be really helpful have the treads checked if they look low and worn and if you hit a curb or pothole make sure you check the tyre and rim for damage. You can change a tyre yourself or call out your breakdown cover to help you, usually, cars come with repair kits or spare tyres to do this.

Engine oil levels

Checking your oil levels is crucial especially before long journeys if the engine oil levels are too high or low then this can damage the engine and cause it to cut out. You can keep on top of your engine oil by checking it regularly with the dipstick, it should between the two lines on the stick which warrants correct levels. Make sure if you are replacing any oil then you check the handbook for your vehicle as oil grades change between cars and you could end up doing damage to your engine which will cost you a lot to fix running it with the wrong oil.

If you are worried about breaking down maybe you have an older car or you for some reason are prone to them then hopefully these few tips will give you an idea on the main things to keep an eye on to help reduce your issues.

4 Ways To Beat The Pain Of Aging

4 Ways To Beat The Pain Of Aging

Although it happens to everybody, it’s still hard to get used to the fact that you’re no longer a spring chicken. The mental aspect is the worst part because it will never go away unless you deal with your emotions. Of course, your thoughts are triggered by your body, which is currently aching under the strain of getting older!

The soreness is unpleasant and adds to the problems, yet it doesn’t have to. By beating the pains of aging, or at least making them less intense, you can lead a fuller and happier life, regardless.

Alter Your Diet

What you eat impacts how you feel because food is the energy you use to tackle everyday life. Without the right juice or the correct amount, you’ll feel tired and less comfortable. The good news is, there is a clinically-proven method called Autoimmune Protocol that can help. Why? As Kristen Blake Wellness says, the diet focuses on nutrient density to replete missing nutrients the immune system and body need to function properly. Immune system inefficiency occurs as you age, so it’s imperative to top-up your essential bodily systems to remain fit and healthy.

Consider Low-Impact Exercise

Another area that isn’t as strong as you get older is your joints. Unfortunately, they have taken years of strain, and, as a result, are less effective. Okay, you’re not on the hunt for a hip or knee replacement, yet you would still like to exercise without feeling as if your body will explode afterward! As the name suggests, low-impact workout sessions are designed to take the pressure off your aching joints, allowing you to burn calories without experiencing an uncomfortable sensation. For those who don’t know where to begin, this Everyone Active list is packed with incredibly powerful activities for every level.

Invest In A Mattress Topper

If your back is hurting, you have probably slept at a funny angle. The sad thing is, it doesn’t take much to wake up with a bad back as you age. Again, your joints can’t handle the strain, which results in sharp pains and dull aches. The key is to spread your weight evenly to ensure no part of the body is working harder than the other, and a mattress topper does it brilliantly. By forming to your shape and weight, you should have fewer problems in the morning, other than wanting to stay under the duvet!

Lift Weights

Lifting weights might seem like a bad idea, but it’s imperative. This is because you lose bone density as you age, something that leads to aches and pains in the joints, tendons, and ligament. Sadly, you can’t prevent or rebuild density by eating healthily or doing cardio. The only proven way for older men and women to fix the problem is to pump iron. Of course, you need to go at your pace by choosing weights that suit your style. For example, dumbbells are fine, and you can use them to train everything from your upper and lower-body to your core.

The trick to beat aging is to accept it happens and do your best to stay in shape.
