Five Tips When Driving To Avoid Car Damage

Five Tips When Driving To Avoid Car Damage

Being able to drive is a luxury that many of us have, and it certainly does make living a little easier, especially if we rely on commuting to and from work or needing a car to go on holiday or to see family. However, not everyone is as safe and careful when driving when they should be. Cars are expensive to purchase and to maintain or fix, so it’s worth considering these five tips when driving to avoid car damage.

Know Your Speed Limits

When it comes to your speed, it’s good to always be aware of the speed limits that are on the road. You may be fairly confident with regular routes, but it’s worth doing a bit of road research when traveling somewhere new. Check out the route you are taking beforehand and what the specific speed limits are for that road.

Stay A Safe Distance Behind And In Front Of Cars

A lot of accidents are often caused by being too close to other cars and so when sudden brakes or turns happen that you don’t expect, the response time can often be too late. As a rule of thumb, ensure that you can still see the license plate of the car in front of you. If someone is driving too close to you from behind, then give way to ensure that they aren’t going to cause you any damage as a result of driving too close.

Store Your Car Under Shelter

Whether it’s a used Vauxhall Adam or a brand new Land Rover, you should always try to store your car under shelter. That goes for when you’re at home, i.e. a garage or parking in a public space. Public parking may be a little more difficult, but if there are any free spots that have shelter above it, then it’s worth choosing that as a place to park, rather than somewhere that’s out in the open. From a security viewpoint, it’s also beneficial to park within eyesight of a CCTV camera.

Be Aware Of Those Around You

As mentioned above, being wary of drivers is key. Not everyone is going to be as careful as a driver as you are, and accidents do happen. It is important, therefore, to be aware of everything going on around you. Keep an eye on your wing mirror and rear-view mirror at all times to make sure that you are doing everything you can to maintain a safe distance from other drivers. Look out for pedestrians who often have a bad habit of running across without the go-ahead of the traffic lights.

Take Away Any Distractions

And lastly, distractions within the car are a big no-no. Using your phone or getting distracted in other ways like changing the music station or having passengers in the car are all worth avoiding.

Hopefully, with these tips, you can keep the risk of accidents or car damage to a minimum. Accidents do happen, but hopefully, most can be avoided with these precautions.

Take A Walk

We will start with the most simple, yet one of the most effective of things. Simply taking a little bit of a walk. Walking not only has a certain amount of health benefits, but the psychological benefits are also many. As walking reduce, stress, anxiety, and fatigue, you know the confidence is going to take a great big boost all on its own. You can also use your walk to assert more confidence in daily life, a high chin, sway in the shoulders and a smile can make you not only feel more confident but you will seem more confident to the outside world.

Exercise Can Put You On Top Of The World

You don’t have to want to lose weight or get fit to go to the gym, just going alone, can instantly give you a huge boost in confidence. Once we start to enjoy the gym and then we see changes in our body, our whole demeanor changes, we become more confident without even knowing it. If the gym isn’t for you, pilates and yoga have been a choice of many for the boosting of confidence and wellbeing.

How Does Your Wardrobe Make You Feel?

For many of us, how we look will often determine how we feel. So my advice to you is, get out and get shopping or even get online. Dress for the person you want to be. Whether you love hats and want one for every day of the week or whether you take some inspiration from this women’s lingerie producer. Finding what you want and wearing what makes you feel confident and amazing is key.

One, Two, Three.. Open your eyes

I think you know where I am going with this final one. Yes, hypnotherapy. Some people will tell you that it did wonders for them, the new use of hypnotherapy is boosted self-confidence. The therapy works exactly as with the traditional methods. It just involves placing the patient into a trance and gradually training the mind to see something different. Hopefully, in this case, you.

You Are What You Eat

Confidence can stem from many places and what we eat is one of those places. A good diet  promotes healthy self-esteem along with feeling more energetic and all-around happier. We are all guilty of a little junk food, followed by extreme lethargy. It’s not a call to diet, don’t worry. Even something as small as a 70% great food to 30% junk food is a step in a positive direction and you will see the results in no time.

So there we have it, a sure-fire way to help you along the way into finding your true confidence. Putting these into action is a great stepping stone to a more strong and confident you.

3 Ways To A Healthy Relationship

3 Ways To A Healthy Relationship

It can be difficult to make the right connections with the right people, and then assuming that you do manage to find a spark with a special someone, you then have the challenge of building a relationship with them. This should be fun and enjoyable, but we know that it can also have its rocky moments. Which is why today we want to share with you 3 ways to a healthy relationship.

Communication

You need to be open and honest with your partner and communicate effectively with them. If you are struggling with anything, you should be able to talk to them and trust in them to support you. You should be able to talk over the woes of your day freely with them and laugh together.

Some people are more chatty and communicative than others, but this need not be a barrier unless you make it one. If your partner is quiet, accept that about them, learn to read their moods and you will soon know whether you need to chat anything through with them.

If there are issues within your relationship you need to sit down and talk them through. Things rarely get better just by waiting them out, and neither of you are mind-readers so you do need to lay it out on the table so that you can move forward.

Shared interests

It is helpful to have shared interests, as you will then always have things to talk about, connect over and enjoy together. Perhaps you both love a certain sport, going to the movies, have the same group of friends or share a love of travel. Or perhaps it is more about your nature, and you have the same sense of humour, similar belief systems or attitudes to others and the world around you. These are the things that will both attract you and hold you together.

This is not to say that you need to be in one another’s pockets. It is also important to have your own separate social lives, as you want to come to each other as complete and happy individuals, not be reliant on each other to fulfil all of your needs.

Sex and trust

You do need to agree your emotional and sexual boundaries within any new relationship. Is this to be monotonous or are you open to seeing other people? Agree this early on to avoid any pain or confusion further down the line.

You then need to take your own sexual needs seriously and ensure that you are taking care of yourself and your body, so that you are leading a sexually healthy lifestyle. You need to be able to speak up for what you want, what you don’t want and what is important to you physically and emotionally. In doing so, you need to feel able to trust in your partner.

If this is an area that you are struggling with, it can be worth trying Sex Therapy & Counselling and try to avoid seeing this as a last ditch solution. This is something worth addressing sooner rather than later and can help to make a young relationship flourish or reignite long term relationships.

Inspect And Replace Any Windshield Wipers

The windshield wipers are important because it’s going to work at keeping your vision of the road clear at all times. Windshield wipers that are old and don’t go fast enough could certainly make your car more dangerous to drive. So be sure to check your wipers before going onto the road and if they’re not performing like they used to, get them replaced sooner rather than later.

Get The Right Type Of Tires

Tires keep your vehicle rolling along on the ground and depending on the time of year, it’s always a good idea to purchase tires that are right for that season in particular. There’s a difference between summer tires and winter tires in terms of the tread depth and the rubber itself. You want to make sure that the tires that you have on your car are going to maintain your safety and no jeopardize it. It’s also wise to have a spare tire in the trunk of your car for emergencies.

Keep To A Safe Speed

Your speed is an important factor in keeping you and your passengers safe. It can be easy to ignore or forget speed limits in certain areas. You don’t want to be caught out with a speeding ticket so keep an eye on your speed at all times. Be wary of other drivers on the road and don’t be tempted to try and keep with up those who are trying to outrun you. Always keep track of your speed in a new area and be conscious of extreme weather conditions and adapting your speed to cater for this.

Have Your Car Serviced

Just like anything, a car depreciates, and that means it’s more likely to encounter issues as it gets older. Therefore, it’s important that you get your car serviced on an annual basis and to be aware of any dramatic changes in your car’s performance. You’ll come to learn how your car drives and sounds when it’s healthy. If it’s not, then it’s good to get it checked, especially during harsher weather conditions.

Carry A Car Breakdown Kit

And finally, always carry a car breakdown kit. With certain weather conditions, you cannot predict if and when your car will break down and having something to help yourself in a situation where it happens is useful. Some things to include in your car breakdown kit is a spare tire, the relevant contact details of a breakdown company. A charger port for your phone for emergency power. An ice scraper and some sort of defroster. A flashlight and jumper cables will be handy too.

Follow these tips to prepare your car for any weather conditions and to keep you and your family safe.

Making Sure Your Prime Is Your Prime

Making Sure Your Prime Is Your Prime

When you were a kid, you almost pictured how you’d look, behave, work, and feel when you were well into your life as a fully-functioning adult. When your mind wasn’t occupied with the latest fad, you thought about how everything would go. You got a more vivid idea of things during your adolescence because you began growing into it all. But now you’re well into your life as a competent and accomplished grown-up, and you’re now at the stage where you need to live the life that you pictured years ago.

Obviously, a human being is only ever as old as he or she feels, but the prime of life really spans between twenty and forty years of age. Yes, you can pick specific ages if you’d like to be pedantic, but we’re going with some nice round numbers here. This space of time is when you’re at the peak of your physical, mental, and social powers, traditionally, so you’ve got to make the most of them, right? It would be a shame to see a wonderful human like yourself waste these years. If you want to really ensure that your prime really is your prime, then let’s look at things you should do.

Eat Good

Inhaling all of the takeaway food and junk food is nice, but it should be something you do all of the time. If you want to be at the peak of your physical powers, you have got to feed your body with the good stuff. You learn about a balanced diet and all of the good foods when you’re little – now it’s time to put what you learned into practice! We’re not saying you should be an Olympic level athlete, but do yourself a favor and keep yourself in top shape.

Exercise

Again, you don’t need to be an Olympian. Just doing a few bits of exercise that will get your heart rate up a few times a week should be good enough. Keeping active won’t only maintain your physical prowess, but it’ll also benefit you mentally. When you work out, your brain releases all kinds of happy chemicals that make you feel so much more confident and positive. Trust me, you’ll want that confidence and spirit at this age.

Visit Doctor Regularly

This is something you should do, whether you’re at a prime age or not. A lot of people fear going to the doctor for a multitude of reasons. Maybe they’re just too shy. Perhaps they feel as though they’re burdening the doc. Maybe they just couldn’t be bothered. Don’t be like those people. If something’s up, you should get it checked. It could be something severe, or maybe you’ll just be prescribed some medication and told to buy some Listen Lively hearing aids. Whatever the outcome, you’ll be glad you went and got whatever problem you had sorted.

Be As Sociable As You Can

Being around others, especially those you love, will also boost you – mentally and physically. People need to have that comradery for their own sanity, so make sure you spend a lot of time with your friends and family. Solitary confinement during your twenties and thirties would be a super sad existence.
