Simple Ways To Feel Better About Yourself

Simple Ways To Feel Better About Yourself

Not everybody has self confidence. Self confidence is something that some people are born with, but you’re not out of luck if you aren’t naturally confident. You can train yourself to feel better if you’re consistent. Let’s take a look at some simple ways to feel better about yourself:

Get Some Exercise

Exercise will make you feel better about yourself in so many ways. Of course it’ll make you look better in the long run, but that isn’t the only reason. Exercise releases endorphins, which are the body’s happy hormone. When you exercise, you feel happier on a day to day basis, as well as immediately afterwards. Many people report being on a high! You’ll look better and be healthier too. Exercise is a must, even if it’s just a walk.

Watch What You Eat

Watching what you eat doesn’t imply that you should go on a diet or lose weight. It simply means you should be more mindful of how you fuel your body. Just because things are the same calorie density, does not make them equal. You’re going to feel so much better when you fuel your body with things like fruit and vegetables, rather than sugary items. If you have a real sweet tooth, look into the miracle berry. Many people are using it to cut down on their sugar intake, as it makes things taste delicious without any! Above all else, a balanced diet is crucial to a healthy life. You don’t need to be perfect 100% of the time!

Start Treating Yourself Like A Friend

Don’t punish yourself and be too hard on yourself in your head. Start treating yourself like a friend. Speak to yourself nicely in your head. See the positive in things. Pamper yourself and praise yourself. Loving yourself is a must, but it can take practice. Start now and don’t give up. The relationship we have with ourselves is the most important.

Buy Some New Clothes

Buy yourself some clothes that you feel incredible in. Don’t put it off until you are your ‘target weight’ or anything like that. Dressing in clothes you no longer like or feel comfortable in will make you feel worse, and you could set yourself up for a downward spiral. Buy nice clothes and you’ll feel much better.

Stop Comparing

It’s too easy to compare yourself to bodies and faces in magazines and on the internet. However, most of these aren’t real. The majority are photoshop’ed, even if it’s just a little nip here and smooth over there. It isn’t real! Stop comparing yourself once and for all. Somebody else’s beauty doesn’t take away from your own. There’s nobody like you, and there never will be again. Embrace your uniqueness!

The tips in this guide will help you to feel much better in yourself if you put them into practice regularly. We all have off days, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. Keep working on it and eventually you’ll feel better than ever. Let me know what you think below!

Keep The Romance Alive After Having Kids With These Inspiring Ideas

Keep The Romance Alive After Having Kids With These Inspiring Ideas

Before you had your baby, it’s likely that you enjoyed romantic meals and spontaneous weekends away with your partner. But now you are parents, you may be finding it difficult to keep the spark alive. Your priorities have changed significantly and romance might be the last thing on your mind. This is a common experience shared by many couples after having kids. Unfortunately, a lack of romance and communication can put a strain on your relationship and cause you to drift apart. This is unfortunate because this outcome can be avoided. Just because you are now parents, doesn’t mean you can no longer experience romance together. Take a look at these inspiring ideas to reignite your fading spark after becoming new parents.

Complement each other

If you’re always criticizing and competing with each other, it becomes more challenging to keep the spark alight. So quit the competition and start being more thoughtful in your approach. When your partner does something to help you, compliment and thank them for what they have done. This will make them feel appreciated and they are likely to compliment you in return. There will also be times when your partner needs your support after a bad day. Give advice openly and be understanding rather than judgmental. If you do this, your relationship will no longer be in trouble and you can start working as a more effective team.

Prioritize date night each week

Date nights are the perfect excuse to get dressed up and enjoy some quality alone time together. This provides you with an opportunity to reconnect and strengthen your bond, while also having fun together. Going out for a romantic meal is a popular date night option, but don’t overlook other activities too. You could visit a spa and take part in a couples massage. Another option is to join a class which encourages you to work together such as dancing or cooking. You can even go to a concert or movie event. The possibilities are endless, so choose a new activity each week to keep things fresh. You should also find an experienced babysitter in advance to give you both peace of mind during your date.

Create a bucket list together

When you were newlyweds or had just started dating, it’s likely you have big dreams and ambitions you wanted to achieve. Unfortunately, when many people become parents, they put their dreams on hold. But this doesn’t have to happen if you don’t want it to. Create a bucket list together, which outlines all of the things you want to achieve. From travel to getting a promotion, this can be something you add to continually. Aim to reach a goal every month and try to ensure your children get involved as much as possible. That way you can rediscover your passionate side while also sharing new experiences with your entire family.

With these ideas to help you, you can maintain a close bond with your partner and enjoy being parents even more. It can take time to get used to such a big transition. But your relationship doesn’t have to be put at risk if you both continue to make an effort.

Becoming A Full Time Carer For Your Parent – What You Need To Know

Becoming A Full Time Carer For Your Parent – What You Need To Know

You might be a busy working mom taking care of your family right now. But if your parents are aging, chances are you’re spending more and more time taking care of them, too. It’s really hard to juggle the needs of your young family with the needs of your parents now they are senior citizens. And it probably feels quite peculiar that your role in the relationship is reversing. After two decades of taking care of you in your youth, you need to now care for them.

So what happens when ill health and age make your parents too frail to be independent? Are you ready and willing to do what is needed to help them? It’s a huge ask. Many people would find it too difficult at this busy time in their lives to become a full-time caregiver. Sadly, more and more of us need to step up to the challenge. Private care is so expensive now. And our parents may be very reluctant or financially unable to enter the care home system.

Adding in options like part-time private care and utilizing family and friends to take on shifts to lighten the load can be extremely helpful. Remember, it’s important to keep a good calendar so you don’t have overlapping and missing blocks of time.

Professionals may use a software to keep their schedules all in order, such as the caregiver scheduling software. Taking advantage of this software can help keep everyone from being overburdened and tensions building during this difficult transition time in the family. Additionally, it also provides a safe place to store important documents, so that everyone is on the same page as to medical conditions of patients and medicines. If you were going to apply this at home, it may make timing of medication and reminders easier to remember for you.

You see, you may have siblings that are willing to share the care arrangements. Be wary of this, though. You’ll both have occasions when you need or want to pass the buck. This can cause friction in your relationship with your brother or sister. And if your parent finds out about the bickering, this can make the whole situation extremely awkward and unpleasant. Personal relationships within your own family can become strained too. You will sometimes be unavailable to your partner and kids as you care for your parents. Are they ready for you to become a caregiver?

Your mental health can suffer from the stress and worry of caring. You need to make sure you can have plenty of breaks from the duties you need to undertake. There may be lots of personal care tasks to perform as time goes on. You and your parent might prefer to hire a nurse or caregiver for things like managing the toileting or bathing. Of course, there are closed system catheters that can help when things become more difficult for your parent to manage.

As well as caring for your parent, you will need to regularly check the living arrangements are suitable for everyone. Things change in such a short space of time. You might start by looking after your parent in their home. Later, it may be necessary to choose small, single-story accommodations. And eventually, it may be essential that your parent is cared for around the clock. You may choose to move them into your family home.

So how do you cope with your parent in your home all day every day? It can feel crowded at first, and you will undoubtedly need a period of settling in. But there can be some advantages to this. You can make sure your parent is eating and drinking enough. You can use the quality time for some bonding. And it means your entire family can become close with them too. We usually move our parents in with us when we’re concerned about their safety. You’ll know their risks of injury will be dramatically reduced. Take care.

Choosing Your Wedding Colours: How Do You Go About It?

Choosing Your Wedding Colours: How Do You Go About It?

Your wedding colors play a vital role in how your overall day will look. They’ll set the tone, show your personality and affect how everything comes together on the big day. If you’re unsure of how to go about it, here are some pointers which might help.

Speak To Your Bridesmaids

Your accent color will decide what color dresses your bridesmaids will be wearing on the day. Talk to them and ask them if there are any colors they are especially uncomfortable with wearing, which may help you to narrow down your choice. For example, certain shades (particularly very bright shades) like orange, green or yellow won’t be the most flattering with most people’s skin tones. Of course, it’s your big day, but try not to go too bridezilla! Your close friends as your bridesmaids will be up there with you too, and you don’t want them to feel insecure or self-conscious. It could be a good idea to have a few shades in mind for your wedding, and then go dress shopping with your bridesmaids first. Then if you manage to find the perfect gown, this is your main color choice to go for.

Draw Inspiration From Your Setting or Venue

Once you’ve decided on a venue, take a look around at the existing color scheme. If it’s a blank slate, you have free reign but anything with colored walls or carpets will look better with coordinating tones. For example, if your venue has orange carpets and you want mint green as your accent shade, it’s not going to look visually pleasing overall! If you have a charming, rustic looking venue, then a super modern and crisp color scheme may look out of place. So it can be worth spending some time thinking about how everything will look and all come together before finalizing your choice.

Think of Your Wedding Decorations

If you have a particular type of flower you have always wanted to use in your wedding, find out what colors these come in. Many flowers such as roses can be bought in lots of different colors, so you have more choice. But bear in mind that more unusual shades will be harder to locate, and cost more money. If for example, you’ve always loved lilacs or sweet pea flowers, it’s a clue that you should go down the purple/ lilac route. If you plan on using lilies, peonies or traditional roses, then pink is the best choice. Another thing to think about is your wedding stationery since this will also incorporate your colors. This is the first hint guests will get of your big day so you’ll want to get it right. You could order some wedding invitation samples before placing the full order so you can see how your colors and designs look together.

Co-Ordinate Colors By Season

Use the season you’re getting married in to help decide on your color palette. Pastel hues are typical in the spring- lilacs, powder blues, and pale dusky pinks are good choices. For summer you could go with something more vibrant- fuchsia, coral or teal could be a great option. Fall moves into warmer shades, burgundy, berry red, burnt orange, and golds. And winter works well with cool blue shades from light ice blue to navy to silvers and gray tones.

Pick Your Favourite Colours

While there’s more to choosing great wedding shades than simply picking your favorites, it’s a good place to start. These are your favorites for a reason, they inspire and draw you to them and so could be a good option for your wedding. If you’re not sure, there are an enormous amount of wedding pictures online to look through. Search somewhere like Pinterest and see which shots you’re most drawn to. From that, you should get a good idea as to what colors attract you most.

Search For Color Combinations That Work

For your accent color, you could pick two different shades of the same color- for example, pale blue and navy. Or you could choose contrasting yet complementing hues. This includes combinations such as blush pink and gray, mint and peach or red and black. That way once you’ve decided on your first shade, it’s easy to choose a second since you can narrow the search down to complementary shades.

Go With an Achromatic Color

Finally, if nothing seems quite right then an achromatic shade is a good way to add accent hue without going down the colorful route. Tones of gray/silver or black can look striking against white for a wedding. So if you’re not really into color, or just want to make a statement this is an excellent way to go.
