Quickie: Sanitize Undergarments After an Infection.

Yeast infections and Bacterial infections can effect a lot of women during hormonal changes, adding in new medications, allergic reactions, etc. These infections can affect men as well. Passing them back and forth can be a nightmare. Disposing of underwear can help but can also be expensive.

Here’s a tip to sanitize your underwear to kill the yeast and bacteria and eliminating reinfection from that source.

Wash underwear together, separate from other clothing. Add in vinegar or grapefruit extract to the washer to kill off the majority. Then before you put the undergarments into the dryer, (Important: Make sure there is no metal or sparkles on the underwear) place damp underwear on a paper towel, and put in the microwave for 2 minutes on high. (caution: underwear will be very hot when removing from microwave.)

This will kill the remainder of the bacteria and yeast. Immediately, place in dryer to dry the underwear.

The microwave is fine because, all the bad stuff died in the intense heat, but some people feel the need to clean the microwave after this purpose. Sanitize microwave by using a bowl of water in the microwave for 3 minutes on high to allow steam to kill anything left over. Wipe down with a clean cloth or paper towel. Repeat this process until infection completely clears up.

Push Through the Pain. Stupid Tip of the Day:

By Tia Cristy

Stupid Tip of the Day: Push Through the Pain.

This tip is true and false. Pushing through the pain of working out can help you build strength and gain muscle. But, pushing through that pain, where something feels over stretched can cause a long-term problem. Men tend to do this more than women, but anyone who does a physical activity should know this.

If you are playing a sport or doing a new workout, and you feel a tightness starting to kick in it’s best to pause and see if the pain subsides. Not all of us have a coach or trainer helping us on a daily basis. But, speaking with one before starting out could also be a great benefit in helping you in understanding your body.

A great example, stretching you legs; to gain more flexibility you stretch the leg until you feel the burn. Then you pause, and the burn subsides. The next stretch you do with that leg, you will have gained a bit more flexibility. Now, if you were to bounce the leg to make it stretch further too quickly, you could cause harm to the muscle, ligaments and tendons.

Getting a cramp when working out or running is a sign of dehydration, pausing to drink water or electrolytes can restore your body’s water supply.

Pushing yourself the little extra distance can boost strength and endurance. But, pushing yourself too far, too fast can effect you for a lifetime. Be smart and know your body when doing any physical activities.

 – Only need to do one set of 30 daily

Step 2: Modified Russian Twist (Obliques)
 – Feet apart on the floor, Flat
 – Finger tips touching your head
 – Do a sit up
-Once you reach the top twist to the one side
(Stay to the ONE SIDE for all 30)
 – Switch sides and repeat

Step 3: Bicycle Crunch (Mid and lower abs + obliques)
 – Legs 6 inches off the floor
 – Shoulders off the floor
 – Finger tips at your head
-Bring one knee in with the other leg straight
-Bring the opposite elbow to meet it
 – Repeat with other leg and elbow
 -This is a double count
(ex: hit, hit 1. hit, hit 2)

Step 4: Side Plank
(lower abs + obliques)

Beautiful Days Mean Allergy Nights?

Beautiful Days Mean Allergy Nights?

So, depending upon where you live, there may be some nice weather days in the forecast. But, does nice weather equal bad allergies for you?

I know some people don’t agree, but if you suffer from sever allergies to molds and pollens, it’s best to keep those windows closed during the day. Even if everyone else is bragging about their cross-breeze, you are going to be able to breathe better knowing your windows stayed shut.

(SIDE NOTE: breezy days cause the most trouble with mold and pollen spores)

Keep the room feeling fresh with fans and spore killing aromas like Eucalyptus oil, or turn on the air conditioner if needed. Make sure the units you use, are clean for the upcoming season before turning them on, causing the scattering of old dust.
