Sex and “Small” Infections.

Problem: A friend and I were talking about yeast infections and she said my boyfriend can get it from me, if I have one. Is that true? And is it a big deal?

Tip from Tia:

Truth be told, no transmitting infection should be considered small; any infection can flourish into a bigger problem. The “small” infections are known to be yeast infections or bacterial infections (BV). These infections can be transmitted sexually.

If you or your partner, is currently suffering from one of these “small” infections, it’s best not to engage in intercourse, until the infection has cleared.

Even engaging in protected sex, can still allow these infections to be transmitted, since they can infect the skin, topically.

If you think you’ve had sex, while having an infection, be sure to inform your partner. Like “they” say, if you’re responsible enough to have sex, you’re responsible enough to talk to your partner about sexual health.

Seek medical attention, if you have symptoms of itching, burning, odor and/or discharge.

A quick tip to remember is, if you have recently gotten over an infection and you have sex, wiping up with hydrogen peroxide after, can help both you and your partner from reinfection. But, be advised, don’t use too much peroxide, frequently, because this can cause changes in your body’s natural balance.

Quickies: Fogging car windows, Help to clear.

TipsfromTia.com Fog

It’s very common this time of year, with the weather being as temperamental as is has been. It’s hotter inside than outside or it’s a hotter outside than inside the car, can cause a large cover of fog over your windows. The wipers only help it go away for a few seconds, and it’s dangerous.

So, if you’re driving in the car and the windows have completely fogged over, but no matter how high the defrost is on the windows won’t clear. Try putting down your visor on both driver and passenger sides, Put/leave the defrost on high and let the defrost circulate in the space you just created.

The visor will help push the air back down and towards the window to hit directly, to help clear it up quicker.

Stupid Tip of the Day: All Lube is the Same. (MA)

You may think all lubricants and oils to enhance a sexual experience, are built the same, but that is not the case. You’ve seen the commercials for her pleasure and for his, and a chemical reaction happens when they combine. Lubricants can be very effective in giving a hypersensitive experience, in the bedroom. In some cases, a lube is even necessary to achieve a pleasurable experience.

There is no shame in needing or wanting a lubricant with your partner. Just be sure to discuss with each other the options. It’s important to have good communication with sex and important to have sexual health. Lubricants can break down latex, if you are having protected sex using condoms. Another form of protection must be discussed, before adding in a lube.

When deciding which lubricant to purchase, I recommend doing just what you would do if you were buying a new food; Check the label. The more natural the product is, the better reaction you will probably have with it. Some lubes actually contain silicone or other strange chemicals that may not treat your insides well. People try to come up with many alternatives and end up causing much harm to your body and your partners body.

When in doubt, go to the kitchen and get olive oil. It’s the most natural lubricant.

Tools can develop rust over time, which leaves them a mess or difficult to work with.

Prevent rust very easily by putting chalk in your tool box and tool drawers.

The chalk will absorb the moisture that causes rust. Replace chalk every year or so.
