How Do People Actually Feel Attractive?

How Do People Actually Feel Attractive?

Do you sometimes have that feeling, when you look into the mirror, that attractiveness is for other people?

We all have a bad day when we feel vulnerable; one of those days when all you want to do is to hide away until you’ve made peace with the reflection in the mirror. Bad days happen to the best of us. But they are not without consequences. Indeed, it’s hard to stand for yourself when your inner critic is stuck on a loop of ugliness. Attractive people never have self-doubts, you tell yourself. But that’s where you’re wrong. Attractiveness is in all of us, and that includes you even on your bad days. You need to find your way back to the real you.

They buy the clothes for it

There’s no denying it; you’re not going to feel at your most sensual when you’re wearing a pair of oversized joggers. What you wear plays a significant role in how you think. Feeling attractive is all about choosing a delicate lingerie set that revive your inner femme fatale. After all, you have to dress the part! It’s up to you whether you prefer a cheeky babydoll with a bow or a pair of alluring French knickers. There’s a moment when you have to give your mind a chance to look at yourself from the right angle, and that includes buying the clothes that make you feel like a woman.

They look after their body

Your body is a temple. You’ve heard the saying countless times before, but you’ve never really thought it through. There’s a double meaning to the temple imagery. Indeed, it means that you need to treat your body with the utmost respect, in terms of how you feed it and look after it. But it also means that, like a temple, it has the potential to shine – aren’t temples filled with the most delicate decorations? If you’re the kind of person who lives primarily on takeaway and goes to bed without removing their makeup, the chances are that the temple might be in need of repair works! But ensuring you give your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to stay strong and healthy and that you protect your skin, you’re guaranteed to feel like a goddess!

Skin Care at Any Age

Skin Care at Any Age

One of the biggest questions I receive is people wondering what is the best age to start taking care of your skin.

Skin is the largest organ we have and taking care of it starts from the day you were born.

The day you were born…

Gentle soaps and lotions are used on babies to hydrate and protect. Think of it this way… Your skin has been nourished since day one.

Terrible teen years…

Being a teen is rough on skin. Hormones are raging and marching across your face. Breakouts from poor diets and poor makeup can wreak havoc on our complexion. Introducing a good gentle cleansing program can be beneficial. Washing with honey and water can help clear up acne since honey had natural antibacterial properties.

Ah, twenties…

The twenties are for learning a lot about life. That includes learning what to eat and taking care of yourself. You become aware of the millions of makeup products that are available and have a top drawer full of them to prove it. Most important thing to remember is to clean your face. Use fragrance-free makeup wipes or cleanser before you go to bed. Sleep helps cells regenerate. And a clean face will allow your cells to do their job properly. Don’t forget to clean your makeup brushes as well. Bacteria grows fast, and you don’t want to slather bacteria all over your skin.

By your late twenties/early thirties, you should have a solid skin regimen. Cells are slowing down, which makes it harder for skin to bounce back like it used to. Using natural products like Nakin anti-aging eye treatment and lip balm can help skin stay plump without harmful ingredients. The eye cream is silky, not greasy. The lip balm is minty and cool, not sticky and dry. Natural products can be extremely helpful in maintaining healthy skin.

Over forty-plus and fabulous…

Collagen loss is a major issue after a certain point in life. A healthy diet can help boost collagen reproduction. Bone broth, B vitamins and amino acids can be a secret weapon against prematurely aging. As for skin care products, adding moisture to your skin is a must. Products with hyaluronic acid is a good way to hydrate.

Correction of skin issues are mostly possible. The most important thing to remember is, improvement takes time. Don’t get discouraged if using a product for a few weeks and you don’t see a change. Some products can make skin worse before it becomes better. This is the process of ‘purging’. Side note: purge can take about three months.

So, what is the best age to start taking care of your skin? I say, the best time to start taking care of your skin is when you ask yourself that question. And the first step to protecting your skin from aging poorly is to invest in sunscreen for your face. Your future skin will thank you for it.

Carry In Convenient Style

Ugh… It’s back to school already

Yep. It’s that time of year again. And it’s gonna be a great one! You’ve got the right clothes. You’ve got the right books. You might even already have the right book bag. But if I remember anything from my school days, I hated carrying my books in the bulky backpack and squeezing myself (and them) into a tiny space with an even smaller seat. My locker or car wasn’t always close to my next class, so it was impossible to switch out books after every class.

Tote up

The trick I used was keeping a tote bag in my locker. Every morning, I would unload my bulky backpack and exchange it for the tote. I’d fill up the tote with the books and supplies I needed until I could make it back to my locker. My back and classmates appreciated it. It compacted my life in a stylish tote that still fit my identity.

HELLO SUNDAY-LARGE TOTE-JACQUARD AND STRIPES

HelloSunday has totes and wallets that can fit anybody’s personality. I recently got a boho chic tote from them. It’s fun and durable with enough space for me to carry books, a laptop or my work supplies. But it’s stylish enough for me to use as an everyday bag, consolidating a work bag and pocketbook into one.

Switch up

Whether it’s school or work, we love to feel stylish. We all have our own big personality and we want to share that through what we wear. But health comes in to play even in the world of fashion. Many people end up with lifelong issues from carrying a bag that is too bulky or heavy. For example, women tend to carry the same purse on the same arm or shoulder every day. They fill up the bag with more and more, which causes more weight. Then, the body compensates for the weight by shifting, which can result in knots in the neck or lower back pain. It’s best to switch up your bags every so often, so your body doesn’t become accustomed to being off balance on an everyday. Switching bags can make you carry a lighter load or even carry your load in a different way. Plus, it allows one to have more fashionable bags. I don’t see a downside.

I switch up handbags for wristlets depending on where I’m going. And for me, the higher the heels, the smaller the bag.  It’s all about convenience.

Our bodies want us to look good, but they also want to feel good. Be kind to your body now, and you’ll reap the rewards later in life.

Age Is Just A Number – Feeling Healthier Beyond Your Years

Say it with us – there is absolutely no reason as to why age should determine how limited you feel. Up until the point where your body might not play ball as it used to (this usually happens much later than people imagine and could include conditions like arthritis, which you can use a lidocaine roll on to help reduce the pain), you shouldn’t feel as though your age is some kind of wet blanket, slowly falling on your shoulders to lower your quality of life. It is more than possible to have an excellent quality of life no matter your age – and to feel much younger than your age might imply.

However, it might take just a little more effort into taking care of ourselves to experience this. Is that a problem? Not at all. This effort helps your life become much more enjoyable in the first place – so it is a win/win. Many of us know that the key to a fulfilled lifestyle is living healthily – but what does that mean in practical terms with the necessary scope of age to consider? Let us consider that below:

Lessen The Carbs

Carbohydrates are, of course, a natural part of any staple diet unless someone wishes to follow a ketogenic-based lifestyle. However, lessening your carbs can be a wonderful approach. When you eat carbs, you gain a great deal of glucose, and that spikes your insulin. For some, especially those who might be a little more mature, this can lead them to feel ‘sleepy’ as they might be quite familiar with it. If you’re hoping to feel active and attentive during the day, then lessening the carbs and eating a protein-rich, healthy, fat-rich, and vegetable-rich diet could be worthwhile. On top of that, complex carbs can provide much more prolonged sustenance, allowing you to keep a close watch on your calories. It’s in this manner that you can keep a healthy weight.

Consider Hormone Therapy

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is becoming all the rage lately, but this is much more than just a passing trend. When having your hormones replaced, what you are doing is giving your body the vital sustenance it needs for growth. Let us consider how this works in relation to a natural exercise, like a full-body squat under load. When squatting, the body releases HGH, which signifies that your body is in a growth stage. As we age, these elements can become less and less effective at firing, but under a training load, or replacement, your body continually understands that it is in a growth situation, meaning that you continually feel youthful. Moreover, the more you commit to an exercise like this, the better your body produces said hormones. This could help you gain that youthful vigour you might have been missing thus far.

Open Your Heart To  Experience

The moment you are ‘old’ is the moment you close your heart to new things. That is it. Until then, you are eternally young, no matter what your body might suggest. Keep traveling, keep being interested, keep being entertained, and keep learning. The more you do this, the more you can squeeze out of this life.

With this advice, you are certain to understand that age is always just a number.

5 Ways To Get Self-Care Right

5 Ways To Get Self-Care Right

Self-care is something that we all need to think about because looking after yourself is super important. If you don’t, you could find that you burn out and can’t do anything at all, so it is totally worth it to give yourself a little break now and again. But how do you actually do this, and do you really have to go to a yoga class to feel like you are looking after your mind and body?

Luckily, self-care comes in many different shapes and sizes, so you are likely to find something that suits you. Here are 5 ideas to get the self-care newbie started.

#1: Switch off

If you’re going to take some time to recuperate from all of the stresses that life throws at you, then you need to switch off like really switch off. Its not enough to just chill out on the couch with your phone in your hand; you should try not to go on it for a few hours, and just do something that you really enjoy. If you are still getting stressed out about emails, then you are not chilling out enough!

#2: Look after your body

Another simple way to exercise some self-care is to look after your body on a regular basis.

One effective way to look after your body with everything you put it through is to visit a spa and get some massage therapy by an experienced professional. Massage is a great way to look after the body on a much deeper level than just the surface. Muscles hold a ton of stress and toxins, but a masseuse can help elevate both. Going below the surface first is the best way to care for your body and watch the efforts appear on the outside. By drinking more water and having a healthy, balanced diet, you will nourish your body from the inside out. Sure, treating yourself to something every now and again isn’t an issue, but getting your fruit and veggie intake nailed will make you feel on top of the world, so it is worth giving your body some loving. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you can, as this will also help.

#3: Do what you love

Self-care looks different for so many people because we all enjoy different things. Whether you want to get your game face on or you prefer to go for a long walk through nature, the important thing is to do what you really love. If you make time for this, you soon find that you feel a lot more fulfilled, so don’t just follow the self-care routes that others lay out!

#4: Have a candlelit bath

Look, we are not saying that a hot, candlelit bath can fix everything. OK, we might be. Chilling out and really letting your muscles relax is a great form of self-care, and you also come out the other side feeling clean and comfortable. If you want to add a face mask in for good measure then this is certainly an idea that we can get behind, so get those candles lit, and find the bubble bath.

#5: Reconnect with loved ones

When the world around you seems like a stressful and confusing place, sometimes self-care looks like calling up a loved one. Whether you head out for dinner together or catch up over the phone, it is just nice to know that the people that you care about are there and that you can put the world to rights with them. We say that the warm, fuzzy love feeling was self-care enough, don’t you think?

Enjoy nailing self-care, however you do it!
