Water on Frozen Windshield. Stupid Tip of the Day:

So, the ice is pretty thick on the windshield and you are in a rush. You may have hear water gets it off quickly, but was that warm water? Hot water? No! Getting ice off the windshield takes cold water.

Cold water will take off the ice, where warm or hot water could break or crack your windshield.

A good way to get the ice off quickly is, put the cool water in a spray bottle and spray the windshield in sections, while using a scraper to get off the clumps of ice. Depending how cold it is, wetting the whole windshield at once could freeze up quickly. So de-icing in sections, may sound time consuming, but can actually be a whole lot faster.

Adding rubbing alcohol to the water, will speed up the process faster, but use caution, rubbing alcohol is flammable and mark the spray bottle with it’s ingredients, so you don’t use it on other things, where the alcohol could not be helpful or may even be harmful.
