Getting Married Soon? Don’t Forget The Wedding Ring

Getting Married Soon? Don’t Forget The Wedding Ring

Before getting married, there is so much to think about. If you are (or have been) in this fortunate position, you will know what we mean. You need to choose the right venue, decide on your bridal style, and pick your honeymoon destination, as examples. There is much to do, and in amongst your wedding checklist, there is one very crucial part that no woman (or man) should forget. The wedding ring. Here are some of the factors you need to consider.

  • Your personal style. There are many beautiful rings to choose from, but you need to narrow down your choices to make buying something easier. One of the ways to do this is to consider the personal style you are going for. Do you want something simple, or are you looking for something with embellishments? Does a particular gemstone take your fancy, or do you prefer something less showy? Do you want to match your engagement ring, or do you want to mix things up a little? You will (hopefully) be wearing your ring for life, so you do want to find something that you will be happy wearing for many years to come. Consider your choices, and find something that will fit your style (and finger) perfectly.

  • Your budget. Weddings are notoriously expensive, and a percentage of your budget will be going on your wedding ring. While you don’t want something that looks like it came out of a Christmas cracker, you don’t want something that is going to cause you bankruptcy, either. The wedding band is one thing to consider, but then there are the embellishments, such as added gemstones and engravings. The price will go up accordingly, so factor extras into your budget. When it comes to gemstones, diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but you may want to choose a cheaper gemstone, such as an amethyst or a sapphire. When it comes to the personalised engraving, each letter will add to the price, so you may prefer your initials rather than your name, especially if your moniker is a long one! Know your budget and stick to it!

  • Your lifestyle. You will be wearing your ring every day, so you do need to choose something that won’t get in the way of your life. Rather than taking it off, and risking losing your precious ring, you should purchase something that will seamlessly fit within your lifestyle. You might want to consider platinum and silicone rings, as examples. Both are durable and safe to wear, no matter what activity you are involved in. Choosing something without gemstones is another good choice, especially if the stones are in danger of coming loose if you use your hands regularly for sport or work. You don’t need to forsake style for comfort, so shop around for something that will accommodate your needs, day in and day out.

  • Your finger size. To say you need a ring that fits your finger is a no-brainer. However, you should schedule your ring fitting at the right time. The temperature can cause your fingers to swell, as can other external factors, such as weight gain and exercise. So get your ring fitted when your fingers are at their regular size. Take heed of the jeweler’s advice too, letting your head rule over your heart when looking for a ring that fits. If mistakes are made, you can always go back to make adjustments later, although depending on your jeweler, you may have to pay for them.

After considering these factors before buying, there is one more thing to remember after purchase. The wedding day itself! Don’t let the page boy/best man forget the rings on the big day! If you are getting married soon, we hope you have a fantastic day, and that the partner you have chosen fits you as perfectly as your ring does! Take care, and thanks for reading.

How to Choose The Right Bathrobe Before Purchasing

How to Choose The Right Bathrobe Before Purchasing

When it comes to bathrobes, it is not a case of first among equals. They are created differently, with different materials and they target different people. Choosing the right bathrobe can be a daunting task especially if it is your first time shopping for one. How should you go about this process? It is not hard:

Check Out The Robe Fabric

Before you pick any bathrobe, it is imperative to check out its fabric. The fabric determines the weight, absorbency and touch of the robe. The most common fabric types you will come across are traditional cotton, plush microfibers, cashmere and classic satin. Moreover, you need to know that the fabric you choose must match your intended use. Plush Necessities Bath Robes are known for their elegant styles, and high quality fabrics.

The Size Of The Bathrobe Is Very Important

Purchasing robes online can be a difficult task since you do not get the chance to fit them. For this reason, it is important to know your robe size before you make any purchasing decision. Choosing the right size assures you that you can spend long hours in your cozy bathrobe at home when you are not going anywhere. You want the hours you spend in the robe to be as comfortable as possible. If you are not sure of your size, you should consider buying your robe from brick and mortar stores or get someone to take your measurements and then you can order one online using such.

Before you buy any bathrobe, it is important to ensure that the seller offers at least four different sizes for you to try out. In general, you should avoid purchasing the one size fits all robes especially if you are an individual customer.

Consider The Style Of The Robe

There is no denying that the style of a bathrobe is an important factor to consider. Everybody wants to looks good when they slip into their robe at all times. Ensure that the robe you choose will give you a classic look as well as boost your ego. Blue or white bathrobes have style and most importantly, they suit all genders. Just because it’s a bathrobe does not mean it should look nasty. At the same time, a bathrobe that has been styled like lingerie is not a good choice if you will be spending time with your children in it. If you are single though and you like to surprise your dates, buy a sexy looking robe.

The Weight Of The Robe

Weight is a crucial design feature for robe enthusiasts; it determines how cool and cozy you will be. As mentioned earlier, the fabric determines how heavy or light the robe will be. In case you are looking to keep your body warm, then you should consider buying a thicker and heavier fleece bathrobe. For people who want something lighter to cover their bodies, then a robe made from cotton will be the best choice.

Check The Cleaning Instructions

Most people ignore the cleaning instructions when purchasing their bathrobes. This explains why people have a hard time maintaining their robes. It is good to read the cleaning instructions so that you get to know how often you will need to clean your robe. In addition, some bathrobes require gentler cleaning because of their soft and delicate material. Once you read the cleaning instructions, you will decide how often you will be using your bathrobe.

Consider The Price Of The Bathrobe

Some bathrobes are very affordable and others are extravagantly priced. Now, the bathrobe that you buy should fall within your budget. Considering that you will be using your bathrobe for a long time, do buy a high quality one so that it can last you a good long time.

Painting Yourself A Different Color: Overcoming Shyness After A Separation

Painting Yourself A Different Color: Overcoming Shyness After A Separation

It’s something that can color your entire life, crippling shyness. You may find yourself in situations where you have overcome it, and you’ve been successful in finding a partner for life, but then, comes the middle age concerns, and problems like divorce are on the increase. When you are of a shy disposition, and you are going through a divorce, or you have separated from someone, having this shyness can feel like a death sentence. But when it comes to reclaiming your life, or overcoming shyness in the wake of a breakup, what are the best ways to achieve this?

Faking It ‘Til You Make It

Ultimately, shyness is something that you have placed on yourself as a label. As you progress through life, there are others who get to know you better and realize that you aren’t that backward in coming forward. But for the opportunities that present themselves after a breakup, nearly new social situations, the fact is, these people that you will potentially meet don’t know you have this shyness. As a result, this is something you can make efforts to completely eradicate. Faking it ‘til you make it is one of those things that is spoken a lot by psychologists and motivational speakers, but there is a lot of truth in presenting an image that you want, rather than the one you have. Faking it ‘til you make it encompasses many things, but from a scientific perspective, the reason it works is that your brain is unable to tell the difference between reality and fiction. As a result, things like positive self-talk and retraining your brain through processes like cognitive behavioral therapy, have shown that it is possible for you to change who you are. Remember, your only barrier in this is yourself. So, the next time you look in the mirror and think negative thoughts about yourself, try to turn these into a positive. It doesn’t happen overnight, but by making the positive changes as soon as you can, you are starting on the long road to be a new version of you.

Trying New Things

It’s a double whammy after divorce, as you are trying to recapture a sense of who you are, in light of the difficult circumstances you must, but also, in suffering painful shyness, being social is a difficult task already. But, the trick to developing any sense of resilience in life is heading outside our comfort zone. Even if it makes you anxious, take one small step outside your comfort zone, or if you are feeling confident enough, go further, and join a social group. But the best way to begin is to think about what your own specific hobbies are. For example, if you like getting fit, you can easily go to a gym class, or a yoga group, which puts you in a social situation, but you don’t necessarily have to engage in conversation. Yes, it can be intimidating if you see groups of people there that are friendly with each other, but this is only because they’ve been in the class for a while. Keep going, and you will end up being part of that social group. Trying new things is the best way to get out of your comfort zone, and the trick in escaping your comfort zone bit by bit means that after a while, these situations that cause anxiety won’t make you feel so anxious anymore. There are so many social groups that cater for so many different types of people, such as language classes where you are all struggling to get by in a foreign language, but gives you the opportunity to talk. And even if you don’t go to something like this, group meetups are usually full of people who aren’t that particularly social, which gives you an advantage because you are in the same boat. But it’s always handy to have a few things up your sleeve when in these groups, such as various conversation topics, just to keep the chat flowing. This is part of a great conversation, asking the right questions. And, because everybody likes to talk about themselves, as a shy person, you can be at a disadvantage, because all you need to do is ask questions now and then and the conversation and will continue to flow. As a result, you can feel ready to speak a bit more about yourself when the time comes, or you can choose to sit back and take it easy.

Understanding Self-Sabotage

We are all works in progress, and after we’ve been through a difficult time like divorce or separation, we can escape the ordeal with a very negative view of ourselves. It’s one of those things that is so easy to do, because it reinforces our own downtrodden beliefs about who we are, and they compound themselves, which we then carry through life. As soon as you understand that these thoughts and emotions aren’t who you really are, nor do they have to be who you are, you can then take the appropriate methods necessary to understand how to overcome these. As already mentioned, positive self-talk is one of those fantastic things that, when practicing, will help you to realign your beliefs and thought processes, and turn you into a more confident person. But if you find it it’s stopping you living your life, then you need to think about how to tackle this.

You have a well of strength inside you, and while you might think that your shyness is your downfall, because this is something you want to change, and then you will make the effort to do what is necessary. But it’s not a race, and it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long process, where you take little steps in the right direction. And for any problem, especially shyness, going in the right direction is more than enough when it comes to changing yourself. Painting yourself a different color is about finding the right colors and textures, and this isn’t something that happens immediately.

Lacking Motivation, and Counseling Your Drive

Lacking Motivation, and Counseling Your Drive

Life gets stressful pretty quick. There are the everyday struggles, not to mention those inopportune things that can result in your mind and body needing rest.

When the Day to Day Gets to Hard

Marriage, kids, job… it can all add up to stress when the structure goes a tad haywire. Remember to take time to breathe each hour. Here’s a little trick that will release the good brain chemicals, providing you with energy, health, and determination.

Take a deep breath. Hold for a second, then exhale for five seconds. Repeat this five times.

Keep a positive mindset…You’ve got this!

When Sickness Strikes

Falling ill puts a huge damper on life. With a simple cold, we have learned to fight through the discomfort and give whatever percentage we can give. However, if something more serious is going on, there is no doubt rest is a must. Our bodies are smart, so we tend to have bursts of energy throughout the aliment, but the body will force us to rest when needed. Unlike our brains, the body doesn’t care about deadlines.

Motivation severely diminishes with illness. With long-term sicknesses we can also fall into depression or self-judgement on not being able to complete tasks like we once were able. Don’t beat yourself up. A tough battle is going on within you, so don’t feel bad if you need to take rest time more often. If depression hits and you can’t find your drive anymore, it’s okay to seek counseling from others about how to handle the struggle.

Here’s a few ways to help stay motivated during illness,

-Remember to count your blessings- Appreciate what feels better than yesterday. If we start to think about the bad stuff, it’s a fact, you’re going to feel worse.

-Find something that makes you laugh- Laughter truly is the best medicine…science has proven it.

-Rest and Meditate- There is time for rest, which means shutting everything else off. Other times, meditation might be the way to go, so your body and mind can direct you on what tasks are important while leaving stress behind.

Tired of Rejection

Rejection is a fact of life. Some handle it much better than others. But don’t let rejection stop your motivation. Most times, we need to prove we are worthy of our destiny. Have you tried and tired, but you keep continuing to fail? Do you feel defeated? Well, it’s time to figure it out. Do you need a rest to recharge your drive? Or have you lost your focus? Are you ready to give up and move on to something else? Or should you let that task go all together?

The best advice I was given—To become successful, you must first fail.

It’s true. Failure has been a part of all our lives since we came out of the womb. As babies, we learned success when we first failed at talking, walking, and eventually became decent at being human.

Don’t let failure stop you. Failure can change you, it’s true, but it should never stop you. If you feel you need a little extra kick to remember how fabulous you are or need someone to help you rediscover your drive, try therapy online.

You are incredible… Maybe not at everything, but you are the best at something. Focus on your health; body and mind. Motivation will be found when you and your soul are well-rested.

Senior Living: Why and How You Should Stay Fit

Senior Living: Why and How You Should Stay Fit

Just because you’ve reached a mature age, that doesn’t mean you can’t stay fit. Granted, keeping fit as we grow older can present its own, unique set of challenges – we lose muscle mass, our mobility is lower, and our joints can become stiff. However, these problems can be overcome or worked around. Here are some of the best activities for seniors, and how they can help us be our best selves well into old age.

Why exercise matters

As we age, our bodies start facing new issues that just weren’t there when we were younger. Exercising can help address and alleviate these problems. Heart disease is one of the most prevalent illnesses that plague the modern man. There are many lifestyle aspects which can contribute to it, but our mostly sedentary lifestyle is one of the main culprits. Regular cardio training can help you avoid this serious health problem. Seniors often have to deal with poor balance and slow reaction times. This general lack of agility can be annoying in day to day life, and, in some situations, even downright dangerous. Exercising can also help us maintain healthy weight (or lose excess weight), build muscle mass (which is generally known to diminish with age), and improve our flexibility.

Take a dip

We Australians are blessed with so much coast that water sports are practically in our blood. Lucky for us that water sports are an amazing way to stay fit. They provide excellent cardio and build muscles. This is a low impact form of exercise that is ideal with people who have sensitive joints. If your joint issues are the result of arthritis, make sure you choose a pool with appropriate water temperature. Many senior communities in Australia, like the luxurious Mark Moran Vaucluse, have their own pool and offer activities such as swimming, aqua aerobics, or even water polo.

Relax with yoga

Yoga is an amazing choice because it supports both a healthy body and a healthy mind. It puts great focus on proper breathing, which can help your body with everything from stress relief to heart problems. Physically, yoga works on stretching and improving flexibility and balance. It’s ideal if you’re feeling stiff, or if you just don’t like very intense, sweaty work-outs. However, don’t be fooled. Yoga requires a lot of strength, focus, and skill. It’s best to start with a class for beginners and ease into the practice slowly. Before you start, explore what type of yoga is the right fit for you. Combining yoga with meditation and mindfulness practice, it can help you feel rejuvenated and fulfilled.

Improve your strength with weights

Lifting weights is not just for the young ones. Two weekly weight-lifting sessions can do wonders for your overall strength and muscle mass. It’s crucial, of course, to start slow, with lighter weights, and then gradually progress as your body adjusts. In time, you should reach the phase when you can do sets of up to fifteen repetitions. You can use classic weights, like dumbbells. But strength training is just as effective when using other methods, like resistance bands, or the machines at your gym. Remember to always get warmed up before you start, though! The last thing you want is to injure yourself.

When it comes to working out, it’s important to acknowledge the transformations our bodies are going through, and adapting our exercise regimen in a way that our changing bodies can handle. Staying active should be an essential part of the senior daily routine, since it adds to longevity and vitality. And always remember, even if you can only start small, it’s still a step in the right direction.
