Stupid Tip of the Day: Vacuum the Carpet, It’s Clean.

It may look really clean after you vacuum, but some grime really stays deep down. There can also be living dust mites living in the carpet.

So a quick tip to get that stuff out of the rug and out of your home, is sprinkle the carpet with some cornstarch.

The cornstarch will kill the dust mites and loosen deep down dirt. Suck it up with the vacuum and now the carpet is fresh.

Add a little bit of essential oil to a bag with the cornstarch to make the powder fragrant.

Cleaning the Coffee Pot. Stupid Tip of the Day:

By Tia Cristy

Stupid Tip of the Day: Cleaning the Coffee Pot.

Some may say it’s unnecessary to clean the coffee pot or the new coffee maker that makes one cup at a time. The truth is, like anything else in your kitchen; it should be clean at least a few times a year.

The easiest way to clean the coffee markers are with vinegar. Run a cycle with a vinegar and water mix. This will sanitize the full machine. Once it runs through, be sure to discard the vinegar water mix and rerun the maker twice with clean water, before using again.

The same idea can be used to clean tea pots as well.

This process will reduce the strong flavor. Remember to let the herbs steep for 10 minutes before drinking to receive all the proper nutrients. Add sugar or honey if desired.
