Get a Natural White, Healthy Smile

So we already know, there are many teeth whitening kits on the market. Some are great and some, not so much. Add in factors like bonding, veneers, foods, smoking, red wine, soda, juice, etc. These become more challenging when just trying to combat natural yellowing of the enamel. Stripping off the stain with harsh bleaches peel at the enamel and can cause painful outcomes when used too frequently.

Is there a natural remedy?

Yes, thanks to renowned dentist, Dr. Pooneh Ram and her sister, Paris (winner of the Tory Burch Foundation’s Fellowship Program), who created Dr. Brite Natural Toothpaste and products. Using activated charcoal along with natural ingredients like coconut oil and aloe vera, anyone has the ability to achieve a bright smile, hence the name.

But does it whiten?

I was skeptical at first, but after using a small dap of toothpaste across my teeth for two minutes, and then swishing around the whitening rinse, I saw an immediate difference. Bonus, it tasted good too.

Did it work on bonding?

Yes, it lightened the bonding, but took several days to catch up with the natural tooth.

How many steps is the process?

Three. Toothpaste, Rinse and a Whitening Pen to use periodically throughout the day. The pen is available with or without peroxide. I’ve been using the one without peroxide and have had fantastic results. The pen is Green Apple flavor and I must admit, it took me by surprise at first, but I’ve grown to love it.

Is there any sensitivity from using it?

No. I have had not experienced any sensitivity at all. Personally, I feel it’s helped with that issue.

I’ve been using Dr. Brite for three weeks now, and I can seriously say, I think I found my new favorite toothpaste.

Get the full whitening kit for $59 which includes toothpaste, rinse and (2) two whitening pens or you can just buy them separate. Dr. Brite has a children’s line of products as well as a line of dental care for pets!

What is Necessary for a Beautiful Smile?

What is Necessary for a Beautiful Smile?

image-1-6With selfies and cameras all around us, having a camera-ready smile is a great thing. However, you don’t have to be a celebrity in order to have a beautiful smile in any given situation, not just for taking pictures. There are simple ways of improving your smile, but it might take you some time to master it. Start with these several tips and tricks and you will manage to perfect your smile and look stunning.

Being natural

Beautiful smiles are all about being natural and relaxed. A genuine smile is the most stunning smile so whenever it’s picture time try to relax and think of something happy. Relax your face, slightly open your mouth and match the curve of the lower lip with the curve of your upper teeth. This way you will manage to avoid squinty eyes and tension in your neck muscles which can make your smile look too awkward and not genuine at all.

Healthy lips

Your lips are the frame of your smile and they need to look good too. Keep them well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water each day. If you are a smoker, quit, because cigarettes only dry your lips, encourage wrinkles and create dark stains. Avoid licking your lips, because saliva has irritating acids which remove natural oils from your lips. Additionally, don’t exfoliate the lips like you exfoliate your skin because the skin of the lips cannot regenerate as fast as your facial skin can. Lastly, don’t be afraid to put some colour on them to avoid a pale smile.

Caring for your gums

A healthy and beautiful smile will need gums with the same features. Gum disease, such as periodontal disease, is very common and it is harmful both for your teeth and your smile. Also, unhealthy gums cause bad breath and if they are not treated immediately the gums will reduce, making your teeth appear longer and uglier. Just like you would take care of your teeth, you should brush after each meal and floss at least once a day. This way you will manage to remove food debris and dental plaque which are one of the initial causes of gum disease. Additionally, you can use mouthwash to disinfect your gums, but opt for one that has no alcohol.

Strong and healthy teeth

image-3-2Dental hygiene is of the utmost importance if you want to have a healthy and beautiful smile. You need to brush your teeth at least twice a day and use dental floss once a day. This will help you thoroughly clean your teeth from food debris and dental plaque which are responsible for many mouth, teeth and gum diseases. Also, don’t smoke. Cigarettes leave stains and encourage tooth and gum decay. Avoid food that can harm your teeth and refrain from drinking soft drinks and other sugary beverages because they are extremely harmful for your smile. However, if you already have some issues with your teeth, a healthy diet and hygiene will not help you. Your best option is visiting a cosmetic dentist in Sydney and going for regular checkups to explore all of your options.

Practice

image-4-4A perfect smile cannot happen overnight. Whether you need to master it for your photos or you simply want to improve it, you will need to practice. Take a mirror and see how you look when you smile. Adjust anything that is needed and try out different smiles for different situations. Don’t forget to stand up straight to avoid the double chin when smiling, adjust your eyes to avoid squinting and try to look natural and relaxed. It might take you some time, but if you make an effort, you will master the most beautiful smile.

To have a perfect smile you need to make an effort. Besides practicing, you have to take good care of your teeth and gums and you will look stunning each time you reveal your teeth.

Like a Virgin: Preparing Yourself for Your First Music Festival

Like a Virgin: Preparing Yourself for Your First Music Festival

Summer is coming, and chances are you’re drawing together a list of plans and activities for the warmer months. Who can blame you? We all want to make the most of the good weather while it’s around. Top of many people’s lists will be a music festival. Our newsfeeds are full of pictures of celebrities wandering about Coachella and Firefly, and we want to try them out too! But when it comes down to it, festivals for the average person aren’t as glamorous and chic as the celebs make out. It’s a long weekend of camping, little sleep, mud, and dirt. But at the same time, all of these things contribute to what will be one of the best experiences of your life. So, how to go about delving into the festival lifestyle while still looking and feeling good?

Planning

If you want to have a good festival experience, you’re going to have to become organized. Make sure that you purchase your tickets for any live music event directly from the source or from a trusted reseller like The Ticket Merchant. This helps to avoid the disappointment that can occur when tickets are fake or don’t arrive at all.

Camping Gear

You’re facing the elements for an extended period, so it’s worth investing in a decent bit of camping gear. Make sure that your tent is of good enough quality that it doesn’t leak. There’s nothing worse than returning to a flooded tent filled with soaked clothes and soggy sleeping bags. Your sleeping bags should be warm and made from good insulating fabrics. It may be summer, but temperatures drop dramatically at night, so you’ll want to be tucked up nice and warm for a decent night’s sleep.

Side note: Bringing a hammock in your backpack for the Woodlands of Dover for Firefly can give you a great option to lay and chill while listening to some amazing artists on the main stage.

Toiletries

Alongside camping gear, you’re also going to need to pack your bag with the essentials to get you through a weekend without proper showers, beds, and electronics. A few necessary bits and bobs should include baby wipes, hand sanitizer, dry shampoo, a toothbrush with toothpaste and plenty of deodorants. Whatever is necessary to keep you fresh and clean in the outdoors.

First Aid

You should take along a small first aid kit packed with plasters, bandages and antiseptic wipes. These will all come in invaluable if you end up with cuts and scrapes or rubbing from wellies. Take some tablets too; paracetamol or ibuprofen are a must for any festival goer. Ladies, remember to take plenty of sanitary products too.

Make Up

Chances are, you’re not going to be too focused on your makeup. You will be getting ready in a tent and will be more focused on getting to see your favorite band than sticking fake eyelashes on. But festivals are a time when you can get creative with your look. Pack plenty of glitter, stick on jewels and anything else that you wouldn’t usually be able to get with on a day to day basis. It’s time for you to stand out with statement hair pieces and bold colors. Make heads turn.

Let’s Get Physical!

Let’s Get Physical!

doctor-medical-medicine-health-42273Image Source

There are so many ways to get checked out nowadays. Whether it’s phoning a friend for advice, searching the internet for what condition your symptoms match up with or chatting to a doctor online, it’s certainly something that is accessible to you. But what about the things which can’t be diagnosed online? How about utilising the services which are available to us to get a more rounded, balanced opinion on what is wrong?

Why Should I Keep It Physical?

Going and seeing a doctor, optician, pharmacist or any other medical professional in person is the way to get the real deal. There is something that just can’t be described when you’re not there to show it in person. All of the senses need to come into play, especially when the designated person is checking you over. While you may be able to match certain symptoms with a condition online, these people will be able to pinpoint it specifically for you and recommend a course of action or treatment to get you through it. Self-diagnosis can be costly to both you and your healthcare provider if you get the diagnosis wrong in the first place.

If I Can’t See A Qualified Doctor, Who Can Help?

There are so many more qualified people who work within the medical field that will be able to help you with any queries that you may have. If what you are suffering from is urgent, it’s important to get to a hospital straight away. If not, see if you can speak to a nurse or look up the 5 ways your local chemist protects you – these are people who are here to help, and more importantly of all, have had the education to make informed decisions regarding your wellbeing, both physical and mental.

Should I Ditch The Online Searches?

Let’s not get carried away here with just how useful the internet as a tool for research can be. If you know that you are leading onto diseases and illnesses which just seem impossible for you to have acquired, it’s probably time to go and see somebody in person. There are sites where you can have a video conference with a doctor or other registered professional, and this should be used if you are unable to get out of the house to see somebody in person. It’s an amazing tool for this situation.

How Do I Keep Check?

It’s important to keep an eye on what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. For example, how much exercise that you’re doing, how much sleep you’re getting each night and taking note of what you’re eating to keep to a balanced and nutritious diet. It’s things like this which will help you to avoid professionals regarding your health. It’s always good to go for a regular check-up just in case, but unless you really need to, save your visits to make room for those who are in urgent need of some practical care. It’s this which is the best way to look after ourselves and those around us.

Tips on How to Fight the Plights of Old Age

Tips on How to Fight the Plights of Old Age

If you don’t want to ‘grow old gracefully’, and you want to fight the impact aging has on you, then you have every right to do so. If you want to fight the plights induced by old age, then you do so. Whether this means doing all you can to fight the appearance of aging. Or whether it means doing all you can to fight the ailments of aging. You do it. And if you choose to do it, make sure to check out some tips on how to do so below.

First of all you should know that you can be as beautiful as you are wise when you grow old, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing this. You can fight the impact aging has on your skin in the form of wrinkles, and there are now more ways to do this than ever before. You can do so by making changes to your lifestyle. And one change you can make is to simply ensure that you always get a healthy amount of sleep and that you always sleep on your back. This is because sleeping on your front or your side can etch lines into your face, and when these lines get etched in enough, they will be tough to get rid of.

Another change you can make to your lifestyle in order to fight the plight of wrinkles is to stop smoking. But you don’t just have to make changes to your lifestyle as you take this venture. No, you could seek a BOTOX injection in order to fight wrinkles too. Whichever route you choose, just be sure that there is nothing wrong with wanting to tackle wrinkles, and there’s nothing wrong with actively tackling them. They are one of the biggest tell-tale signs of aging, so there is nothing wrong with them being the first plight of old age that you seek to fight.

But it’s not just about fight the appearance of aging. It’s also about fighting the plights of old age that physically hold you back from living. And one thing that can hold you back during your twilight years is bad eye health. Aging can have a detrimental impact on eyesight, and you shouldn’t allow for your eyesight to be changed in this way. A way to do this is to make changes to your diet.

By opting for cereals that are ravished in whole grain. By choosing foods that are a good source of protein. And by cooking in a way that makes any fats you consume as healthy as can be. By implementing these three aspects into your diet, you will be doing all you can to fight the plight of old age, which is bad eye health.

Another key to staving off the feeling of aging is to stay social. You don’t have to retreat into your own home, avoiding contact with others. (Well, at least after the pandemic is over.) Instead of introverting, try to stay as social as possible. Laughing with your friends brings youth. Community and group spirit can work wonders for the soul! This is evident right into the depths of old age – groups such as Seniors Helping Seniors go to show just how positive bonding with others and helping others where you can is for your health, happiness, and wellbeing.

Now, this is not to say that you have to fight these plights of old age. It’s just to say that you should fight them if they ever make you feel uncomfortable. Neither is it a case of ‘growing old disgracefully’. It’s a case of wanting to look and feel as great as you can for as long as you can.
