Getting Ready for Summer Skin and Hair

Getting Ready for Summer Skin and Hair

As the season changes, so does our skin and hair. Preparing for any season takes a little TLC so your body doesn’t pay the price. Dry skin is common in the winter, but as we transcend from winter to spring, dry skin and hair tends to happen.

Signs that Your Skin and Hair Needs Moisture

Dry, peeling or breaking skin or hair is usually a good sign that you need to hydrate yourself. The best way to hydrate your skin and hair is by drinking plenty of water. Eight, eight ounces of water is needed per day. I’ve heard time and time again from people saying, ‘I can’t drink eight bottles of water per day’. Well, first off, most bottles of water are sixteen ounces, so you would only need to drink four if that was your only source. However, fruits and veggies hold a lot of water. Eating your daily servings help contribute to your daily needed water content.

Keep Clean and Balanced

When your skin is clean and hydrated, you will be able to maintain a healthier balance in skin tone. Oil or shiny spots on skin is also a sign that you need hydration. The body is genius. It knows how to try and hydrate on its own, unfortunately, it will only show up in certain areas like, the T-zone. If are part of the percentage of the population that has honest oily skin issues, check with your dermatologist for your best options. For the others, in most cases, when you try to dry out the area, it will only make the shiny areas worse. Instead, try hydrating.

Add Oils

Adding oils into your diet can help promote moisture and hydration. Nuts are a great source to maintain great health and hydration. Also, try cooking with olive oil, coconut oil or sunflower seed to nourish your body. You’ll find these benefits are helping you from the inside out. I personally like adding external oils into my daily regimen. Essential oils have plenty of healing properties. One of my favorite external oils that has multiple purposes is Argan oil. Use Argan oil on hair, skin or nails for hydration, balancing skin tone, calming inflammation, reducing wrinkles and preventing hair-breakage or skin breakouts while stimulating hair and nail growth. Greenesthetics.com offers a 100% Moroccan Argan oil as well as other cool products including their new Alightener Foam for teeth whitening while cleaning your mouth tray or an Invisalign retainer.

Exfoliate to Look Polished

Removing dead skin cells is an important part of maintaining skin health. Removing the build up can help reduce pores and remove fine lines. Also, exfoliating requires a light scrub, so you’re providing a light massage to the skin, which stimulates cells to regenerate. Exfoliate the skin on a weekly basis. Don’t just focus on your face. It’s important to scrub the whole body.

Benefits of Black Seed Oil

By Tia Cristy

Benefits of Black Seed Oil

It’s known as a cure-all or black cumin. Black Seed Oil comes in a liquid or pill form, as well as mild or extra-strength. It has been known to make people feel brand-new overall. But really, what is Black Seed Oil?

What is Black Seed Oil?

Black Seed Oil is the result of pressing the seed of the Nigella Sativa plant. It has been used in Asia and Middle Eastern countries for centuries to heal the body inside and outside. The oil is safe to take internally or to place on the skin topically. Rumor has it, princesses throughout history used the oil as a daily moisturizer to remain youthful.

Uses of the Oil

The Black Seed oil has been found to reduce blood-pressure, so if you already have low blood-pressure you may want to use this oil topically. Always consult with your doctor when starting natural supplements. However, the side effects of Black Seed oil are next to nothing. Some have developed rashes. But there haven’t been major issues reported. Other healing benefits have been reducing wrinkles, healing scars, antibacterial properties, etc. Then, upon further investigation Black Seed oil has been used to treat viruses, disease, STD’s, resistant bacterial infections, liver issues, cancer, diabetes, stomach issues, hair loss issues and MRSA. It has reduced symptoms of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and many neurological aliments. And on top of it all, it is a big promoter in weight-loss.

Have I Seen a Difference?

I started using the oil topically to see if I had any reactions first. It has a pleasant odor and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. It feels silky, not greasy. I had extremely dry hands from a cold-harsh winter. I had used several of my go-to oil fixes and was only getting relief for a couple hours at a time. I decided to try a dab of the Black Seed on my hands. I have been problem-free for days after one treatment. Bonus, my hands still feel incredible. I started using it on my face only three-days ago, and I’m already happy with the results. We all know summer or winter months can be harsh on the largest organ. I’m feeling confident, I will continue to be happy with the results.

Can You Stop Taking Black Seed?

After all the research that I’ve done on those that use the oil, they have stopped the oil at one point or another for only a short period of time. It’s totally safe to stop. However, after a few months missed the positive reaction of Black Seed Oil and returned to taking the supplement again. (especially around Allergy Season)

If you are thinking about taking Black Seed as a daily health supplement, it’s recommended to start with the mild. If you are hoping to take it as a therapy, please discuss with your doctor on the dosage they recommend. If you need more information on dosage or Black Seed oil, contact The Blessed Seed. Get Versatile with Your Hair

By Tia Cristy

Get Versatile with Your Hair

We all go through periods where we get bored with our hair. Is your hair dull? Has you locks lost their life? Does it seem like a bun or ponytail is the only style you’re rocking on a daily basis? Don’t get me wrong, a messy bun or ponytail can be the right style for the right moment, but if it’s your go-to style, you might be in need of a change.

How Drastic are You Willing to Go?

Deciding how to change your look takes some effort. Hair changes are not permanent, but most changes take a bit of commitment. Are you debating about changing your color? If color change is a first for you, you might want to choose a subtle change. Add a few highlights or lowlights to change the whole appearance of your face. If you’re determine to go drastic, I recommend getting a professional. Colors and bleaches are chemicals, which means they have to be mixed correctly, timed perfectly and rinsed properly. It’s a special touch to obtain vibrant colors. If you want to go grey, purple, pink, blue, etc., bleaching the hair is usually a must. A professional can mix the right products to make that bleach safe for your scalp. Warning not all bleaches are safe on the scalp. Also, if you have a color tint mishap, a pro can fix it in the easiest and healthiest way.

Chop It?

Is it time to let go of length? Sometimes the hair needs several inches removed to regain health. Sometimes we get bored with the length. But what happens if we cut it off and wish we could glue it back on two hours later? Easy solution for that in today’s world is to buy yourself some hair. Hair extensions are more popular than ever, and more affordable for quality hair. Check out the many different styles and colors that are available out there nowadays. Some extensions are removable on a daily.  Amazing Beauty Hair has a gorgeous selection of colors and textures to choose from. There are two options to choose from. They can be applied to the head with glue or clips instead of being sewn and weaved into your hair giving you the best of both worlds with long and short hair. The extensions are shipped beautifully in a sturdy box with a comb to section the hair properly. However, if your hair is long, but thin, add extensions to give thickness. I think it’s best to invest in 100% human hair if you’re planning on using the extensions on a frequent basis. It’s worth the little extra for a longer lifespan.

Is that a Shine or Greasy?

Getting a great shine in your hair starts from the inside out. Eating a well-balanced diet helps maintain hair health. B vitamins are important to overall health but adding a Super-B complex can feed your hair properly—always check with your doctor before starting supplements. Treat your hair with a hair mask.

Mix 1 egg, a cup of mayonnaise and a few squirts of your daily conditioner. Run through your wet locks, and then pin it up for 20 minutes. To get better results, put on a shower cap to allow your own body heat to work its benefit. After 20 minutes, rinse thoroughly, and then proceed with your normal shampoo and conditioner routine. Dry naturally or with a blow-dryer. If you use a hair dryer, give your hair a cold shot to create more shine.

Hair with New Life

Trying new options with your hair can boost your mood and confidence. With minimal effort, changing our hair can change our pyridine.

Beating The Body Blues: Positive Changes To Boost Your Spirits

Beating The Body Blues: Positive Changes To Boost Your Spirits

You wake up each morning and stare at yourself in the mirror as you get changed for work. There are a number of things about your appearance that you wish you could change instantly. From lumpy love handles to blemished skin you’re becoming increasingly unhappy with the way you look. You need to take action and start to work on your beauty insecurities; they will never better if you sit back and complain about them. You have a handful of options at your fingertips so start exploring what might work for you and feel body beautiful again.

Easy Enhancements

If there is a certain part of your body that you have been unhappy with for a long period of time, you might want to look into ways to change it. You were born with certain features which make you unique and distinctive, but it is understandable if some of these things are making you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. If you’re serious about making a change then look into a local plastic surgeon, who will be able to advise you. Even if you just book an initial consultation to explore your options, it is worth having a look into how they could help you.

Skincare Smarts

If you’re prone to regular skin breakouts and acne, then it’s likely to be getting you down. Your face is the first thing you will inspect each morning to see how bad your skin situation and it isn’t easy when you have to stare at zits all the time. Try changing up your skin care regime and stop using products which are full of toxic chemicals. Opt for plant based organic products which are made from natural ingredients. Tea tree oil, lavender and rosehip are all amazing products to use for sensitive and spot-prone skin. Use a clay face mask once or twice a week to clear out the impurities in your pores. You will soon have brighter and fresher skin, which will make you feel more confident.

Effective Exercise

You try on a bunch of clothes and you’re never quite happy with how they look on your body. You think your thighs are too thick or your bum is too wobbly; of course these are the things which make you beautiful, but you should consider targeting your problem areas with exercise. You will never be fully happy in your body, so you can’t expect perfection. All you need to do is take part in regular exercise which makes you feel good. If you enjoy the workouts you are taking part in you will soon begin to feel more energetic and positive. Exercise releases endorphins which make you feel happy, so there really is no excuse for skipping out on your next gym class.

Whether you’re looking to straighten out your nose, tighten your wrinkles or tone up your bum, make sure you start being proactive about your imperfections. You don’t need to live with these stresses and strains, just look into your various options and choose what works for you.

Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

There’s no shame in being insecure about something. In many ways, if you’re not insecure about anything, then you’re probably not human! It’s a natural way of life, we all have elements of ourselves that we don’t like. What’s more, it can take a lot to put these negative thoughts out of our mind and get over our insecurities for good. As such, every day is spent looking in the mirror and focusing on the little things that we don’t like, rather than the things we do like.

We all have different insecurities, but some are more common than others. Today, I’m going to look at the most prevalent beauty insecurities in modern women, and provide a bit of advice to help you get over them for good. My main hope is that this little guide can help all of you to start loving yourselves more!

My Face Is Full Of Spots

So many women are insecure about their appearance because they have breakouts on their face. They think this makes them look super ugly, and they’ll try and cover the spots up as well as possible. Often, this means going overboard with foundation, which just fuels the spots and makes the breakout even worse.

When you have constant issues with spots, it makes you so insecure that you’ll avoid leaving the house unless it’s essential. The thing is, there are so many solutions to this problem, and you’re probably going about it the wrong way. Instead of trying to cover your spots up with loads of makeup, work on addressing the cause of them. Is it because your skin is too greasy or oily? If so, work on cleansing your pores and taking better care of your face. Also, never sleep with makeup on and always wash your face before bed! Then, apply a thin layer of makeup, and only when necessary. If you’re not going anywhere, don’t bother with makeup around the house! If all else fails, see a doctor and they can prescribe acne medication to help you out.

My Boobs Are Too Small

When it comes to insecurities on the body, your breasts are usually at the top of the list. So many girls fear that they’re unattractive because they don’t have big boobs. Once more, the media has a lot to answer for this, as we’ve constantly seen attractive women with big breasts as leading roles in films, on magazine covers, and getting most of the limelight. Needless to say, you can feel very insecure when you don’t have big breasts, and this stops you from wearing things you might like the look of – such as crop tops, bikinis, low-cut dresses, and so on.

The good news is there are both temporary and permanent solutions to this insecurity. If you’re super self-conscious about your breast size and would kill to make them bigger, then why don’t you? Breast augmentation is common, and you can subtly enhance the look of your breasts if you want. It’s not for everyone, and I strongly suggest you see surgery details before you go through with this. This is the permanent solution, and the temporary ones can help give your boobs the appearance of being bigger, without actually changing their size. Things like push-up bras or padding can help make your boobs look bigger and fuller. You’ll be very surprised at how much of a difference a good push up bra makes to your breasts, and this can be all you need for a little confidence boost.

My Legs Are Too Chunky

Another body insecurity most women have is with their legs. A lot of girls see their thighs as being too chunky and wobbly. They feel like they jiggle when you walk, and it can make you so insecure. Especially around the spring/summer seasons where it gets hot, and loads of people wear shorts and skirts. You feel very insecure because you see everyone’s nice legs, and you think you’re being judged for being the only person still wearing jeans.

The reality is, you can easily take care of this insecurity if you’re willing to put in the hard work. All you have to do is start exercising and eating right. This will help you lose body fat, which slims down your thighs. They’ll lose that ‘chunkiness’ you don’t like, and you can also tone them up by doing squats and leg workouts. In fact, I’ll leave a video down below this paragraph of a sample leg workout to help you add muscle tone and firmness. In a matter of weeks, you can transform the way your legs look and feel a lot more secure about them.

My Eyebrows Are Too Light

Finally, we end things off with another insecurity that’s found on your face. Having light eyebrows has become a really big issue in modern times. There seems to be a big beauty trend at the moment where good eyebrows are a must. Everyone wants nice dark brows that are shaped well and finely trimmed. If yours are too light, then it looks like you have none at all, which causes major insecurities.

Again, there are both permanent and temporary solutions here. The temporary one is simply drawing on your eyebrows whenever you want to go out. Once more, I’ll link a video below this paragraph that gives a few tips on how to do this and make your brows look natural. When done correctly, you’ll see the effect looks so real, and no one will guess your eyebrows are really very light. The permanent solution is to get something known as an eyebrow tattoo. Essentially, you get eyebrows tattooed on you, so they always look a lot darker. It’s not for everyone and can be quite expensive. But, if you’re really insecure and can’t bear to even walk around the house with your natural brows, then this may be your best option.

As I said earlier, I really want this guide to help everyone with these insecurities. First and foremost; don’t be ashamed if you’re insecure. Secondly; don’t be ashamed about wanting to change things about yourself. A lot of people say you should just grow to love your insecurities, but it’s not as easy as that. Some people get really badly affected by the things mentioned on this list, so doing things to change the way you look can help you love yourself for once!
