Considering the cost of a new dishwasher, it’s in the best interests of consumers to take care of their kitchen hardware. While it’s true that modern dishwashers don’t require much in the way of upkeep, their life cycles can be significantly shortened through negligence. If you want your latest dishwasher to go the distance, these quick tips are for you.
Optimize the PH of Your Water
It’s no secret that hard water can do a number on pipes and fixtures over time. People tend to forget that it can also severely damage appliances like dishwashers. Test your tap water for excessive mineral content and soften it if need be so that it has a pH of roughly 7.
Run at the Right Temperature
Another little known fact about dishwashers is that they require hot rather than warm water to operate correctly. That’s because water that isn’t at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit will promote the development of detergent deposits in places where you don’t want them. Check your temperatures and adjust the hot water heater as needed.
Use the Right Kind of Detergent
When selecting a detergent, avoid gels and go with good old-fashioned powder. Look for something that doesn’t contain chlorine bleach. It’s also a smart idea to avoid “rinse aid” additives. Last but not least, keep a supply of fresh detergent on hand that hasn’t been sitting around for a long time and store it in a dry place.
Clean those Filters Regularly
If you want your dishwasher to run trouble-free for years, regularly clean any filters and traps that you see. In addition, occasionally check and clean the spray arm holes to remove any detergent deposits that have accumulated. For more involved repairs and maintenance, go with a qualified repair shop such as Atlas Appliances Ltd.
Load It Full, Load It Right
Last but not least, only run your dishwasher when you have enough dirty dishes to fill it up entirely. When loading, place heavier items on the bottom. It’s also wise to use a dryer rack rather than the automated dry cycle, which just wastes electricity and prematurely burns out the heating element.
A Penny Saved Is a Penny Earned
If you adhere to the guidelines detailed above, your dishwasher will last a whole lot longer. The savings on repairs can run into the hundreds depending on the specific make and model in question. A little preventative maintenance and a few simple habits will ensure that your appliance delivers outstanding ROI.

The pain is not only felt along the spine, but also can be spread to other parts of the body. Daily activities such as standing and sitting for long hours, lifting heavy equipment, over-exercising, among others can also have a huge impact in causing back pain, since they impact the spine anatomy.

Chiropractic patients have to realize that they have personal control over their health. The need for a healthy spine is paramount especially because it controls the major functions together with the brain. The level of therapy requires patient commitment and cooperation with the chiropractors.
The patients develop a deep belief on the ability of the body to heal itself without the necessity of drug intervention. The belief stipulates that there are two categories of intelligence-natural and educated. The natural intelligence makes crucial involuntary decisions such as what amount of pancreatic juice to produce, vasodilation effects, among others. On the other hand, the educated intelligence is in control of the personal self and should be kept in control to achieve vitality and longevity.
Likewise, people taking yoga classes believe in the innate self, where the creator is part of the creation-hence all solutions are within. There is universal intelligence in achieving enlightenment in health, using the body. Therefore the energy should be channeled to positives through exercises, healthy diets, meditation and relaxation.
All these aim at providing an optimum environment for the innate body. Both are patient-centered, stress and anxiety-free allowing people to work at their own pace and endurance. The consequences are tremendous, including improved fitness, stress reduction, and management of chronic conditions.

People aiming at losing weight can join yoga classes and the overall general fitness will be improved. Chiropractors provide a solution in healing acute and chronic conditions, and oftentimes they refer their patients to attend yoga studios for quick recovery. The common feature has been used to heal neck and back pain, sciatica, pain in the arms, feet and ankles; arthritis, sleep disorders and other health problems.

Problem: Everything I’m pulling out of my closet smells like it’s been in there for too long and everything is wrinkled. What is that and how can I fix it?
Tips from Tia:
That tends to happen during the humid seasons. Closets are dark and humidity causes dampness, so a mildew can form in the closet space. A quick remedy to get rid of the smell in the garment immediately, is throw it in the dryer for a fluff. 5-10 minutes on high, will blast the smell and wrinkles. But, to solve the closet problem, the best tips for closet care can be done all year around.
First, fill a spray bottle with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Spray the closet, hitting the clothes and shoes. The vinegar will kill the mildew and prevent static build up on clothes.
Next get activated charcoal. you can find it at hardware stores and such places. Hang it in your closet this will remove any moisture, so the smell and wrinkling will be gone. (If the charcoal doesn’t have it’s own pouch, you can use a stocking to hold the charcoal and hang it.)
This should help with the smell and moisture. If you continue to have issues, there could be a bigger problem inside the walls, so you may need to contact a reliable contractor.

Problem: A friend and I were talking about yeast infections and she said my boyfriend can get it from me, if I have one. Is that true? And is it a big deal?
Tip from Tia:
Truth be told, no transmitting infection should be considered small; any infection can flourish into a bigger problem. The “small” infections are known to be yeast infections or bacterial infections (BV). These infections can be transmitted sexually.
If you or your partner, is currently suffering from one of these “small” infections, it’s best not to engage in intercourse, until the infection has cleared.
Even engaging in protected sex, can still allow these infections to be transmitted, since they can infect the skin, topically.
If you think you’ve had sex, while having an infection, be sure to inform your partner. Like “they” say, if you’re responsible enough to have sex, you’re responsible enough to talk to your partner about sexual health.
Seek medical attention, if you have symptoms of itching, burning, odor and/or discharge.
A quick tip to remember is, if you have recently gotten over an infection and you have sex, wiping up with hydrogen peroxide after, can help both you and your partner from reinfection. But, be advised, don’t use too much peroxide, frequently, because this can cause changes in your body’s natural balance.
