Tips on Triggers: It’s a Good Day.

One amazing trigger to have a good day, is to declare it. Sounds too easy, right? Fact is, it’s part of self-fulfilling prophecy.

Every day when you awake in the morning, and you make your first trip to the bathroom, look in the mirror and say, “It’s a good day!” It may not work the first couple days, but it will soon take root. Positive reinforcement, will change your outlook. It has been found that people who declare a good day, will in fact, start having good days, within a months time.

And, those who continue the declaration as a daily regimen, see positive changes all around them from a happier family life, to stronger financial securities, overcoming health issues and even work related promotions. It most cases, people say that the people around them are more positive too. So, just like misery loves company; it’s good to know, Joy and happiness, is contagious too!

So, trigger a happy life starting with, it’s a good day!

Stupid Tip of the Day: Make a Face, It will Stay That Way.

When you were little, someone may have told you don’t make a funny face, it will stay that way! Yes and no, Making a funny face can hurt you in the long run. For instance, if you practice frowning often, the corners of your mouth may droop, in the years to come. But, as I mentioned the other day, facial yoga, is the art of making funny faces and reaping the benefits of it.

Sticking out your tongue and stretching out your jaw and holding it for
30 seconds and repeating 3 times, can tighten up your jaw line and neck.

Be a Fishy Face. Make you fish lips and puff out your cheeks instead of sucking in, tap on each cheek 30 times. Next, take those fish lips and look up, stretching your neck as tall as you can, and blow kisses to the sky. Do ten kisses, relax and repeat 3 times.

Get mad? No prevent it. Take those two fingers and place them in between the eyebrows at the top of the nose. Push your eyebrows apart with your fingers, while trying to push them together with your facial muscles. Hold position for 30 seconds. Relax, then, repeat 3 times.

These small yoga routines, can prevent wrinkles and help existing wrinkles. After your facial work out close your eyes and relax your face for 1 minute at least. This will help the muscles remember and gain strength to do what they’re not supposed to do do anymore.

It does happen, sometimes there are many cooks in a kitchen and each one takes the opportunity to salt the water or the soup. And, wow that can ruin a dish quickly! So if you don’t want to eat something that tasted like it was prepared in the ocean and you don’t want to throw it out, wash a raw potato and cut it in half. Put it in the water or soup and let it sit for several minutes. It will absorb a lot of that excess salt, so you don’t have too. Remove the potato, and prepare as usual.

If you noticed it after you cooked noodles and strained the boiling water out already, run noodles under water. Then, put noodles back in pan and add warm water with the potato. It will still help absorb the salt.

Problem: Hi Tia, love your stuff! I wanted to ask, since you talk about natural remedies, but what do you think about botox for skin care?

Cosmetic procedures, which I think do have positive
effects on certain individuals, benefits skin that has lost elasticity,
hydration and reduced collagen, which are all factors that are harder to maintain
naturally, when it comes with maturing. Also, botox is great for those
that have sun damage in lines of facial expression, to allow that
surface to heal flat, not within a crevice.

I think the earlier you start your skin care treatments, the longer lasting results are, to keep good skin.
But, I don’t think that means run out and get major cosmetic treatments, first. There are great ways to keep your skin youthful, yes, naturally.

And for those teenagers, already thinking about getting botox, you should know that your skin still
has a bunch of natural elements, where powerful chemicals could be completely unnecessary right now. Prevention is a major factor with other, simpler regimens.

But, if you are just starting to see signs of aging, you can prevent or slow down the process with good diet; fish, veggies and nuts, limit sun exposure with sun block and SPF, vitamins and herbals, drink plenty of water and try the newest trend, facial yoga. Which that will help the face muscles build strength and elasticity.

After trying all that, if you are still unhappy or the process of aging is further along then you’d like, then, make an appointment with a well respected doctor and you can discuss your options. Remember botox lasts for several months in the system, and there are other brands out there than Botox that do the same thing yet, have different ingredients. One product is made with yeast while the other, is made with lactose and cow protein. If you have reoccurring fungal infections talk to you doctor, and they may suggest staying away from the yeast based one. The point I’m trying to make is, do your research, before you act.

Tips in Action: Clean the Microwave.

So it’s happen to the best of us, you put something in the microwave and it explodes. Whether the case is you don’t clean it up right away or it’s been happening repeatedly and now all that gunk is cemented to the inside of the microwave, it’s alright. There is a quick fix to getting that caked on food off the microwave without using chemicals.

Get a microwave safe bowl, fill it with water and place it in the microwave uncovered. Allow the water to boil for about 3 minutes on high.

Once the timer ends let it set for about 1 minute before opening the door. The steam will saturate the grime and all you need to do is wipe out with a paper towel or sponge, hardly using any elbow grease.

Remember, the bowl of water will be extremely hot, use caution when handling.

The easiest tip to trigger a good mood, is to laugh. Find something you find funny and laugh. If you can’t think of something funny to laugh at, force yourself to laugh for no reason. And, laugh hard. squeeze it out. 

Just making yourself laugh for several seconds, can trigger the neurotransmitters to fire, and start to sway you in a good mood.

Not everyone has a famous basketball player behind them, to rip out that annoying tag, that is irritating your skin. And, some tags you don’t want to part with, because of the designer. So, what is a quick way to stop that tag from being so annoying?

Easy tip, tape it to the garment itself. Getting a piece of duct tape, a band aid or if you have kids, use stickers to seal that tag down. The super adhesive of duct tape band aids and stickers will hold that tag in place, so it won’t be an itch any more.

After working on the computer too long or blurred vision from bright lights, has potential to effect us all. A simple trigger to help alleviate eye strain is by rubbing the outside of your leg.

To find the right location, put your fingers on your ankle and where the start of the palm touches the leg is about the right area to release the strain.

Place your fingers in that area, rub, while applying a mild amount of pressure. The eye strain should subside, fairly quickly.

Tips in Action: Reseal Frozen Veggies and Fruits.

This tip is simple. Save all the twist-ties, from the old loaf of bread. When opening a new bag of frozen vegetables or fruit and you only need a certain amount of a serving, reseal the bag with an old twist-tie. This will keep the remaining frozen, air tight till the next use.
