Natural Skin Care Essentials

Ever since ancient times, women have taken care of their bodies and had their own skin care routines. Certainly, beauty products have evolved and, in spite of that, women still stick to the organic and natural skin care products. So, we’ve singled out a couple of natural go-to essentials you might want to try.

Channel your inner Cleopatra

For the ultimate glowing skin, dare to use some old tricks that one of the best-known women in history adored. It’s no secret that Cleopatra loved to take baths in donkey milk in order to preserve her youth and beauty. It is believed that milk rejuvenates the skin and gives it a healthy radiance. The Egyptian goddess also liked to rinse her face with apple cider vinegar, and she used the luxurious combination of milk and honey as a facial mask. Milk and honey are beneficial in many ways, since they contain antibacterial properties that hydrate and clean impurities. Honey serves to moisturize the skin, while milk exfoliates it. You can easily make a DIY mask by mixing these two ingredients, and applying it on dry areas. Rinse after ten minutes, and repeat this royal treatment a few times a week. Also, honey seems to be an excellent choice for healing your flaky lips. Before you go to bed, coat your lips with a light layer of honey and you’ll wake up with softer and more kissable lips.

Rose water- yes, please!

As romantic as it sounds, it’s made from water and rose petals. This magical beauty potion has gained popularity among many women today, and it can be used regularly as a face cleanser. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, rose water reduces the skin irritations and shrinks the clogged pores. Also, there’s a rose water toner you could use after removing your makeup, which will leave your skin perfectly smooth and refreshed.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, can I eat ’em all?

What’s more beautiful than the beauty itself? An edible beauty in the form of different food for glowing skin. That’s right, you’ve heard well. The newest trend of healthy treats with beauty benefits has emerged, and we are happy to share the good news. Finally, we can eat raw chocolate without feeling guilty, and plus it’s vegan and it keeps our skin healthy. You could also include certain puddings and mousses in your diet, as they leave your skin hydrated and soft. I think I’ve found my latest obsession, how about you?

Cocoa & Shea Butter body lotion

Regardless the season, you must always nourish your skin to keep it safe from losing elasticity and firmness. There are plenty of softening lotions that deserve a spotlight, but this one’s a real gem. It moisturizes the damaged skin, and it should be included as a part of your daily routine. It’s also good for the body parts we like to neglect like elbows, knees and heels. It smoothens and nourishes even the driest parts and it smells amazing, too.

Fruit infused water

I guess we don’t have to tell you how hydration is important for your entire body. If you’re not hydrated enough, your whole body suffers. It happens very often that people forget to drink water over the day, or even worse, they drink it only when they’re thirsty. To make drinking water fun and tasty, you can jam pack your favorite juicy fruit combinations in a glass bottle, and enjoy your flavored water.

Bentonite clay does wonders

Regardless of your skin type, you could use a bentonite clay mask as a part of your daily beauty regime. Make a mask by mixing one teaspoon of water and one teaspoon of clay to get a thick paste. Optionally, add a drop of an apple cider vinegar and mix it altogether. Apply the mask on your face and neck, avoiding the under eye area. Wait for 30 minutes, rinse it with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft towel. Repeat this process 3 times a week and you’ll notice how your skin gets smoother and fresh.

Remaining young and fresh is what every woman today dreams of, and with these natural products be sure you could prolong your beauty and health in the easiest way possible.

What is acne and how is it formed?

By Guest Blogger Erick B.

What is acne and how is it formed?

Acne is a common problem among teenagers and many adults. Acne is primarily caused due to inflammation where build-up of sebum or oil on our skin occurs. Sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands that are located at the hair follicles. When there is a collection of sebum on the face, it attracts dirt and grime. If the hair follicles are closed, it leads to a whitehead. And if the hair follicles are open, oxidation occurs and it results in forming a blackhead. When bacteria enters these follicles and cause inflammation, it causes acne.

Who gets acne and why?

Our skin produces more sebum when the body has more testosterone. This happens when we hit puberty and therefore, acne occurs more during puberty. However, some factors such as stress, a high-carb diet, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a very dry skin and pollution can also cause acne in adults.

How can you control acne at home?

Acne can be treated and controlled by simple home remedies such as applying white toothpaste on the breakouts, applying tea tree oil or frankincense oil, using aloe vera gel, application of ice pack and consuming a healthy, well-balanced diet.

Natural Skincare with Quality Results

Natural Skincare with Quality Results

I love using natural vitamins and oils on my skin. I’m grateful, I get complements all the time on my complexion. Questions of what I do for my regular routine? Well, usually I answer with the simple clichés. It’s got a lot to do with your diet. What you put in is exactly what you’ll get out. I’m blessed to have good genes on top of it all, but I started my skincare routine as an adolescent. The skin is the largest organ we have. We must care for it properly.

I don’t stick to one oil or a multivitamin. I pay attention to what my body needs. Example, if you’re craving something, your body needs something from it. Sometimes it’s a challenge to figure out exactly what your body needs when you’re craving something like chocolate ice cream, but the fact is you might need dairy, vitamin D, sugar, or the benefits of chocolate itself. Sometimes it’s a trial or error thing. But the more you pay attention to your body, the more you’ll come to understand it. Your skin will thank you for it. Perhaps, you got a great skincare regimen, but now your skin is looking dull.

Getting a Boost

I’ve been using Blackseed oil in my dry areas on my face, especially under the eyes. It works great for me, but it’s like I hit a wall during the summer. I was asked to try Livad skincare products, which was created by dermatologist, Dr. Janet Prystowsky. The product is based on using vitamins A, D, & E.

Here’s what I found out

Using the Vitamin A+D or Livad anti-aging cream boosted the vibrancy in my skin! Seriously, a dab will do you. With a tiny push on the pump, I received enough cream to cover all my dry spots and then some. No lie, I noticed a difference within one day. I didn’t have dehydrated summer skin any longer. I can’t tell you what will happen in the winter months, but I know that somewhere between January and March my skin starts to look dehydrated after being in heavily heated indoors. I’m thinking these products will definitely do the trick!

I was happy to see Livad also offers winter and summer bundles for their skincare line. The holiday bundle offers an After-Sun cream great for year-round sun exposure.

I would totally recommend these products based on their use of natural vitamins, which I have found many folks are deficient in. Also, after trying the products, first-hand, I’m self-assured in saying it might be worth a try to anyone wanted a new skincare routine, including those that have sensitive skin issues.

Side note: I stopped using my other oils to get a true assessment of these products. I do plan on adding a few of my oils back into my routine to see how they react together. I’m confident the results will be fantastic for my personal skin.

Salt and Relax

Salt and Relax

Some great natural remedies for stress include meditation, aroma therapy, relaxing and cleanliness. I discovered you can get all four in one shot, thanks to the invention of the bathtub and Relax Spa and Bath.

With dozens of scents and healing properties, I concur Relax Spa and Bath has a lot to offer. I started off with choices from their Happy Hour cocktail line like Cosmopolitan, Appletini, etc. I love the idea for bridal party gifts. Brides are always looking for great ideas to give their ladies for being part of their big day. Adding a simple gift like bath salts along with champagne and chocolate in a basket could be a great little ‘Thank you’ to your favorite gals!

I moved onto the next line of salts, and I was impressed!  The Athletic line is packed with natural relief for sore muscles. Three different salts to target three needs Relief, Rebuild and Recover. These are amazing to use in a full bath, but why not just in a foot soak? I added a small amount into a footbath and felt the tension in my feet dissipate within twenty minutes. The Athletic line smells good. It’s a unisex smell. It doesn’t sway one-way female or male. They are just extremely pleasant to the nose.

Finally, my favorite salt, Eucalyptus Mint, which I wouldn’t use every day, but for only very special days… those days when I’m feeling under the weather, feel the start of a cold or have a sinus clog going on. It’s powerful scent is beautiful, and somehow, unclogs the sinus cavities quickly. A tingle of rejuvenation comes from the skin after soaking for a solid twenty. They also offer the Rx line, which I plan to try next!

Not only is it fun trying out the different salts they have to offer, I have been more centered and relaxed taking these soaks. My stress-level has reduced drastically. I would totally recommend to anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed in life to take at least a good ten minutes for themselves to soak in some very pleasant smelling salts and regroup.

Find Your Perfect Bra

By Tia Cristy

Find Your Perfect Bra

One common gripe you’ll hear amongst most women is the invention of the bra. Memes and jokes about shedding the bra once at home have existed for a long time. Bras in general aren’t the enemy… But the particular bra you’re wearing could be. Here’s how to find the perfect bra for you.

This bra is too big

When your bra is too big, it gives a false sense of security. Things can shift inside and straps can fall. This can result in bad posture, which can lead to back and other muscle pain. Trying to work out in a bra that’s too big can result in rubbing and poking from the material. This can leave a discomfort and irritation to the skin.

This bra is too small

When your bra is too small, it can be dangerous on many levels. First, this can cause back pain, resulting in that need to shed the bra as quickly as possible. But the more dangerous things that can happen are not only internal cysts, but fungal or bacterial infections on the skin. If you end up with a rash under your breasts, try otc cortisone. See if the rash clears in a day or two. If not, go see the doctor– the doc will be able to tell if it’s fungal or bacterial and provide you with an appropriate script.

This bra is just right

https://pixabay.com/en/bra-clothing-garments-bust-holder-73926/

Not everyone is the same size or shape, which means not everyone can shop at the same place for bras. And, not every sized-bra is a one size fits all. Hence, the reason there are so many manufactures out there. I’m not saying you’ll get it right with every bra, but sizing yourself for a standard bra is a pretty simple if you have a sewing tape measure.

First, find your band size by wrapping the tape measure around your body, just under your breasts.
Example: 32 inches

Next, move the tape measure up to include your breasts fitting loosely around the nipple.
Example: 34

Finally, you’ll subtract the two numbers. The number left over determines your cup size.

0=AA
1=A
2=B
3=C
4=D
5=DD
6=DDD-F
7=G

So with our example… Minus 34 by 32 and you are left with -2. That means your bra size is 32B.

Bras have advantages

Although, it’s easy to complain about a bra, they do have some advantages. If you remember their true purpose… bras can give support. Some women and professionals believe that sleeping in a bra can keep the muscles from sagging. Personally, I’m not for or opposed of such practices.

I have found that wearing the right kind of bra on a daily, can change your overall mood. Whether you buy a bra like Knix for comfort and protection or a lacy thing that makes you feel like a bombshell, bras have the ability to adjust your mental state. Hence, this is why women will spend gobs of money on their undergarments… not to show them off, but to feel the best that they can feel. And, like most powers of the mind, that self-esteem will certainly show on the outside.
