U OK Hun? Self Care For Internet Entrepreneurs

U OK Hun? Self Care For Internet Entrepreneurs

You may be great at running your business, but are you any good at taking care of yourself? More than any other group of people, entrepreneurs are notorious for pushing themselves to the limit, burning the candle at both ends and not listening to what their bodies are telling them. When you don’t have a line manager, and everything you’re working on is to set up your future then working long hours and barely leaving your desk can begin to feel somehow normal. You’re under a huge amount of self-generated pressure to succeed, learning new things, trying to bring everything together and make it work and desperately aiming to become profitable while keeping calm. The important thing to realise is that for an entrepreneur, health IS wealth. You are the engine of your success. Your creativity, vision, ideas and hard work are what makes your business. If you neglect your health and become seriously ill, then your business will be damaged in the process. So making time for self-care isn’t just a smart investment – it’s a necessary fundamental of running a successful business. If you want to build a long-term career and company, then you need to prioritise your own mental and physical health, even during the busy times.

Make Me Time A Part Of Your Schedule

For every business fundamental, you have an allocated slot in your schedule. Time to create a marketing strategy. Time to brush up a client pitch. Time to go through the accounts and prepare a business tax return. The same has to be true of your health – you need to create an allocated time and stick to it. The key is to be clear on what relaxes you – for some it could be fitting in a 5k or a game of squash, others will find it in reading a few chapters of a great book or even playing video games. Some may benefit from using a daily mindfulness app. Find whatever works for you and make it a religion to honour that small slice of time for yourself.

Sort Out Any Minor Issues

Just as you would try to identify any business issues quickly and sort them out before they escalate and cause damage, so you must take the same approach to your health. Instead of ignoring that sore back or the onset of insomnia, it’s a good idea to get them checked out by your primary care doctor. Perhaps it is just nothing, but if it isn’t, treatment will be a lot quicker and more effective if you tackle the problem head on and early.

Fit In Some Exercise

It can definitely feel like the last thing you have the time for is exercise, but keeping active is a form of health insurance for entrepreneurs. The right sport makes you mentally and physically stronger – allowing you to be more productive and focused at work. It also helps to keep you healthy, lowering your risk of multiple diseases and keeping your immune system primed – and when you don’t get paid to take a sick day, that’s a pretty big deal!

Declutter Your Home

So this is something that pretty much all of us are good at putting off, for a very long time. When you have your own family, or when you’ve owned your own home for a good couple of years, the amount of clutter can really build up. Not only that, the renovation work that you might want to do, might only add to the clutter.. So if you feel like it’s getting to the point where this needs to happen, you’re first going to have to think about bin hire. It’s going to save you so much time getting a bin hired for your home, and you’ll soon be able to get things done. So have a real good clear out, and look at anything you don’t like or don’t use anymore. You might be able to donate some of it! Once you dedicate a few hours to this, you’ll be surprised at how much space frees up.

Keep Your Days On Track

Sometimes it’s so hard to keep your days on track, especially if you’re always filling it with one thing after the other. Sometimes it’s hard to stick to it when you don’t write it down, so as silly as it might sound, a daily to-do list can help you to keep your days on track. If you do everything in order and quickly, you might find you free up more of your evenings and weekends!

Calm Your Thoughts

So we spoke about mental health in the beginning, and we know how prominent it is at the minute. So one thing we’d recommend is yoga. It’s a great way to process the thoughts in your mind, and help you to empty your head. The more stressful thoughts you’re having, the more negative you’re going to feel. But taking that time to truly relax through yoga can really help that. There are simple guides that will get you going online.

4 Easy Ways To Save Money In The Garden

4 Easy Ways To Save Money In The Garden

We’re all looking for ways to save money and stick to our budget and usually, we start with the home. If you can find ways to reduce your energy bills in the home and spend less on maintenance, you’ll save yourself a lot of money. But have you ever thought about how much money you’re spending on the garden? Most people don’t but when you add it up, you’ll be surprised just how much it’s costing you to maintain your outside space. Luckily, you can do these simple things to save money around the garden.

Reduce Water Usage

Watering the garden is one of the biggest expenses, especially if you’ve got a lot of plants out there. It’s always a good idea to reduce your water usage for environmental reasons anyway, but it will also save you a lot of money out in the garden as well. The best thing to do is to plan your watering properly and only water when you actually need to. That means you should plan around the weather and let the rain do the hard work for you where possible. You should also look into drip irrigation systems that deliver water directly to the root and use way less water than a hose or sprinkler system.

As well as finding ways to cut the water that you use, you should start collecting rainwater as well because it won’t cost you anything. Get some water tanks out in the garden and you’ll see that they soon fill up in the winter. You should have more than enough water to look after all of your plants and it’s completely free.

Make Your Own Compost

Plants need good quality compost if they’re going to get the nutrients that they need to thrive, but it’s costing you money if you’re buying it every year. The thing is, there’s really no need because it’s not that hard to make your own compost out in the garden. You’ll just need to use food scraps from the kitchen so all you need to pay for is the compost bin and that’s it.

Propagate Plants

A lot of people don’t know about propagating plants which is a shame because it’s a great way to save money on buying new plants every year. When you propagate a plant, you split it and then replant it so that they multiply. That means you can buy a few plants and eventually fill the whole garden. If you learn how to propagate plants, you’ll save so much money on buying them in the future.

Use Citrus Peel For Pests

Getting rid of pests is important, otherwise, they’ll eat all of your plants. But you don’t need to be spending money on pesticides and slug repellent because there is a cheap natural alternative. Citrus peels contain chemicals that repel or kill pests so they can be used instead of your normal pesticide. That means you’re not putting potentially harmful chemicals out in the garden either.

You’d be surprised how much money you could save out in the garden by making these simple changes.

How Life Can Change When You’re With Someone Right For You

How Life Can Change When You’re With Someone Right For You

It can be hard to find ‘the right person’ for you, and it can be hard to be the right person for someone else. When this happens, we know about it. It can feel like the world has somehow conspired to ensure the two of us meet, allowing us to bathe in enjoying one another’s company. However, after being in a bad relationship for some time, it can be hard to open yourself up to this, or think what it might look like.

Of course, first we should state that rushing into any relationship before you’ve had time to gather yourself and feel comfortable on your own is a bad idea. If you can’t love yourself, being with someone else is always something that leads to frustration. However, we hope to use this post to show you just what you stand to gain should you wait for the right person, and keep your standards high. After all, you are absolutely worth it. Here are some signs that might guide you in future:

They’re Your Best Friend

Friendship is actually a purer version of love than romantic love. Romantic love expects something of the other, it expects to be connected, it’s quite intense with those sentiments. But friendship simply wishes the other to be well, and is hardly as possessive as romance. This is why it can be a great idea to befriend the person beforehand, or know that even if you weren’t romantic together, you would be friends no matter what. When friendship comes easy, that’s an excellent sign that things could possibly work out.

You Feel Less Sure, But In A Good Way

It can often feel that when we’re single, everything is certain. We might not believe we were ever going to have kids, or that we would ever like to get married. But when you find someone right for you, you might start questioning those decisions. You’ll know when the power of this relationship can help you change your mind, because it will shock the old you. You might even consider tying the knot or considering a reversal vasectomy as a matter of principle, rather than anything else. In other words, the right relationship can often make you feel less sure in what you may have believed completely before, and as long as that’s completely consensual, that could be a good thing.

You Won’t Tread On Egg-Shells

Many relationships can often feel like you’re having to tread on egg-shells around certain topics. A sense of fear of offending the other can often take over, and once you kowtow too many times to this, it can be the standard in your relationship. When you meet the right person for you, this is no longer a regular occurence. In fact, it can be a sign of worry if things ever start to feel that way. Open and honest communication, not limitation, is likely to set the standard here.

With this advice, we hope you’re much better able to ensure you find Mr or Ms/Miss Right.

Marketing a Food Truck Business

Marketing a Food Truck Business

A food truck business can be a fun and financially-rewarded enterprise, but you will need to market your company effectively in order to be successful. With the right marketing techniques, you can differentiate your businesses from competitors, establish a loyal customer base and promote your brand, so it’s vital to engage in effective marketing activities.

Choosing a company name

Your company name should be something people remember, so don’t go for something too obvious. A play on words, a pun or something funny can work well, particularly if it’s related to the food industry or the type of food you serve. Although it is possible to change your business name further along the line, this can risk alienating your existing so customer base, so it’s best to come up with something fresh and memorable from the start.

Use your food truck

Your food truck is the main element of your business, so be sure to make the most out of it. With the right branding, you can make your food truck an effective marketing tool, as well as the best place to eat in town. Whether you’re using a Sprinter van or another type of truck, consider using bright colours to make it stand out or have it professionally wrapped with your logo, business name or typography.

Create social media profiles

Social media is a fantastic marketing tool. As well as being easy to use and a great way to connect with your target demographic, social media marketing is cost-effective too. You can choose to run your own social marketing accounts or opt for professional assistance with your campaigns. Whichever option you choose, social media marketing requires relatively little financial investment and can bring in significant returns.

Social media is also a great way to get your corporate personality out there. Consumers enjoy brands which have a human side to them, so use social media to connect with your audience and help your company stand out.

Launch a website

Although you’ll be selling your food offline via your truck, it’s still important to have an online presence. Most people expect companies to have a website, so you could miss out on business if you neglect this area of your marketing. Furthermore, having a website gives you a great opportunity to promote your brand, share your story and incentivize potential customers. Perhaps offer a weekly newsletter with coupons and vouchers, or motivate customers to share their experiences at your food truck in return for loyalty cards and schemes. With this added incentive, you’ll be able to promote awareness amongst potential new customers and build loyalty amongst your existing patrons.

Promote your local area

With local marketing, you can reduce your costs and increase the effectiveness of your campaigns. If you’re planning to launch a PPC ad campaign, for example, choosing keywords which relate to your local area will ensure you’re reaching consumers who can easily become customers. Instead of focusing on nationwide marketing, stick the area you’ll actually be retailing in for maximum effect.
