If you aren’t a runner and you are overweight, running is not the way to go, just yet. When running, a person puts all body weight on one foot at a time. This can be hard on anybody’s ankles and feet, but it’s worse when it’s excessive weight, being put down on one leg at a time.
The best plan is to walk. Walking will help the body start the workout process without damage and continuing to walk the body will allow itself, in time, to work harder to burn more off. It’s beneficial, as an all round workout.
As your body starts to have a better response to the initial workout, you can then add in other forms of exercise. And, if you hope to someday, in fact run, learning the proper ways of training to run are recommended.
