Now a days, its crazy to say, but people have more meds, then what will fit, in the over the sink medicine cabinets. Finding alternate storage is a must.
A great way to organize a medicine cabinet is to get little bins or containers to group together certain medications.
The containers don’t have to be expensive; getting something that will fit a cabinet from the local dollar store could be a great option. I use wash bins, that I got from a hospital stay. Those rectangular yellow basins, are perfect for putting over the counter meds in one and scripts in another and one more for vitamins and supplements . This keeps down any clutter. Put the ones you would use often towards the front, and those that are specialty in the back.
Be sure to store all medications in a safe, away from children, dry, cool location. And, schedule a medicine clean out every few months or bi-annual, to dispose of expired medications. Be sure to dispose of meds properly, using coffee grounds or find out if your doctor’s office has a drop off, for expired medications.
