Quickie: Prevent Coating Atop of Pudding.

Pudding can be a good, healthy desert or snack. It’s best to make it, instead of pre-made cups, but some folks aren’t a fan of the “skin” or coating that develops on top of the pudding.

Here’s a quick and simple way to prevent it from getting that coating. After you put the pudding in it’s cup or bowl to set, put a piece of wax paper on the top of the container. The wax paper will keep it from developing the film on top of the pudding.

Quickie: Make a Snow Day Even Better.

Depending on where you are located, you could actually be waking up to snow, today. Make a snow day even better for you and the kids, by adding food coloring to water bottles. Add a few drops of color with water into a water bottle and punch a small hole in the cap with a thin nail. If you have old hair coloring bottles or mustard bottles; these work fantastic.

Get the kids bundled up and give them the colored water. All you do, is squeeze the bottles of color, to spend the day “drawing” in the snow.

Give Your Fireplace a Light Show. Quickie:

Quickie: Give Your Fireplace a Light Show.

It’s time to enjoy the turkey leftovers, and after unwrapping all those gifts, a ton of paper is let over. Recycling is the way to go with most of the paper, but give yourself and family a little entertainment by having a light show in the fireplace. Safety is first. Do not do this, if you haven’t much fireplace experience. Have safety gear close by, ex: extinguishers, sand, etc. Hot paper amber’s can potentially escape the fireplace and burn things.

Take the colorful paper, (similar colors together) and place in the fireplace. The color from the paper will change the color of the flame. Blues and greens tend to be the most prominent in changing colors. It is entertaining and a warm event for the family to partake in together.

Safety is extremely important when dealing with the fireplace. Pay attention and don’t leave it unattended, and be sure to teach the kids fire prevention and safety.

So, let’s say you’re about to have guests over, and you spot a mess of needles under the tree. If you don’t have a little hand held vac, try this quick tip, grab the sticky lint roller. Roll it across the area where the needles have fallen. It will pick them right up, and you’ll be ready for visitors, in no time flat.

Quickie: Fill In a Cracked Vase.

Have you ever had a cracked colored, vase, where now that white line is exposed, for all to see?

Have you broken a vase and glued it back together, yet, the white lines are showing the repair?

Here’s tips to camouflage those white crack lines.

With a magic marker, hold the maker in the crack, so the ink will absorb into the porous area.

If the crack is too deep and the marker isn’t getting into the crack, try a nail polish color that is close to the right color.

And, if it’s ready for a face lift all together, make it a fun craft project, by adding new paint, designs and beads.
