Humidity is brutal for most of us. Not only does it mess with the sinuses, which makes you feel crappy on the inside. It can wreak havoc on your hair, which can make you feel awful on the outside too.

Humidity hair tends to be big in some areas, flat in others, looking greasy, while feeling sticky and dried out. Gross, right?

The best tip to use for humid hair is apply some cornstarch. Sprinkle in your hand and rub thru the roots and scalp.

This may not make it look glamorous instantly, but it will be easier to deal with.

Slicking it back into a classy ponytail or adding beach waves can revamp the look of humid hair.

Problem: Hey T! I got sunburn on the top of my head and now it looks like I have dandruff! Please help!

Tip from Tia:

Thanks for reading! This happens more often than you think, but tends to be more noticeable if your hair is dark or if it was a bad sunburn. There’s an easy solution to help reduce the scalp from flaking and looking like dandruff.

I recommend first, wetting your hair with warmer water. Then use olive oil on your hair, starting at the scalp and working it down to the ends.

If there is no pain left from the sunburn, take a comb and run it across the scalp. This will loosen the dry skin. Massage the olive oil into the scalp.

Leave on hair for several minutes up to 20 minutes max.

Shampoo and condition as usual. Process may have to be repeated several days later. Do not use everyday, oil can build up and cause other issues. This is also a good treatment to do monthly to maintain healthy hair.

Stupid Tip of the Day: Petroleum Jelly on Eyelids

By Tia Cristy

Stupid Tip of the Day: Petroleum Jelly on Eyelids for highlighting effects.

Petroleum Jelly has been known to help reduce wrinkles and heal chapped skin. It’s a very shiny look has been desired by some to highlight features on the skin.

While it has these great benefits, it is very sticky and putting it on the eyelids is just a no, no. It can cause the eyelid to stick, which will be irritating and also dry out your eyes.

You can put Petroleum Jelly at crow’s feet, laugh lines and near lips but use caution, keep it out of eyes and mouth.

If you want a highlight on your eyelid use a pale shadow or concealer, this will give highlight without any negative side effects and a natural shine. Keep the jelly no lower than the arch of your brow.

Tips In Action: Really Ripe Bananas

Really Ripe Bananas have many great purposes, But we’ll get to the others at another time. This tip is how ripe banana skins, can help dry out pimples.

If you have a painful, full pimple and trying to reduce it over night, this is a good tip to try. Peel a ripe banana and put the fruit aside. (wrap up the banana, to eat later) the peal is what you need.

Scrape the inside of the peal and apply the gooey paste to your targeted area. Put a gauze bandage over the area tightly for the night. Go to sleep. Overnight it will draw out the material in the pore. Next morning, you should notice a decrease in the swollen area. Wash face as normal. Don’t scrub or rub to hard. It may cause the pore to fill up again. Repeat process each night as needed.
SIDE NOTE: Cut the peel into pieces, store in a freezer bag. Freeze remained of peel for future use.
