Body Art for Men: Trends for 2020

Body Art for Men: Trends for 2020

Body modification and body art is nothing new; men and women alike have been adorning themselves with piercings, tattoos and other forms of body expression for years now. Trends come and go, though, while a few old classics have managed to stand the test of time.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of the current most popular trends and men’s styles in body modification and art for both piercings and tattoos in 2020. Do you see yours on the list?

Piercings

Piercings will never go out of style. With so many different types to choose from, and so many different varieties of body jewelry, you’ll never get bored with your piercings.

Back in the late 1990s, when piercing hit a fever pitch, it was all about the tongue ring and the eyebrow ring. Those are still around, but they’ve fallen a little out of trend, in favor of other, newer piercing styles. While not new, labret piercings (in the chin), philtrum piercings (just under the nose/top lip), and septum piercings (under the nose as opposed to the side/nostril) are all hugely popular at the moment, and for good reason: all of them look really cool. All three styles are relatively easy to care for and don’t pose a lot of risk for infection as long as you take care of them.

Classic piercing locations that have stood the test of time are the lip piercing, the side nose ring, nipple piercings and the ever-traditional ear piercing (both earlobe and helix, which is higher up on the ear). All of these classic styles look great on any guy (or gal), and are easy to care for, with a huge variety of jewelry options available.

Then there’s some of the more avantgarde piercing styles, such as corset piercing and dimple piercing.

If you’re interested in making an appointment for men ear piercing, or any other type of body piercing, contact your local piercer or body studio to make an appointment. Many tattoo shops also do piercings.

Tattoos

Tattoos are also nothing new, but the technology that tattoo artists are using is always changing and just gets cooler and cooler. These days, tattoos are more than just your usual blocky design or quick-to-fade ink. Tattoos can be done in watercolor, in white ink or invisible ink, 3D style tattoos, and so much more.

In recent years, popular trends have waned from the usual blocky lettering or tribal tattoos of the past, with body art enthusiasts instead opting for lifelike portraits of loved ones, celebrities and even their own pets. These ultra-lifelike portraits are so detailed that you’d never guess they could be done on flesh, but they can.

Many enterprising tattoo studios are also starting to offer cover-up tattoos at lower or discounted costs for victims of abuse who may have scars, which is a really empathetic and creative way to give back to the community. And you’d be surprised at how amazing these tattoos look!

Tattoos used to have such a stigma attached but these days, almost everyone has at least one. So what are you waiting for?

Whether you’re interested in a piercing, a tattoo, or both, 2020 is a great time to take advantage of a hot new trend and get some body art that looks totally awesome.

Symbolization Of Wedding And Engagement Rings

Symbolization Of Wedding And Engagement Rings

https://www.pexels.com/photo/gold-colored-solitaire-ring-1449657/

No one can deny that marriage is one of the most beautiful things in the entire world. After all, the union of two people who are dedicating their entire lives to one and other is something that should be forever cherished. Because of this, the importance of engagement rings and wedding rings should never be overlooked or disregarded. After all, these two precious pieces of jewelry are a direct symbolization of the love shared between the two people and their promises to one and other. Read on to discover everything you need to know about them.

An engagement ring marks the initial proposal from the man to the woman and is the first declaration of the love shared. On the other hand, the wedding ring solidifies the union between the two people and eternalizes the love shared. This symbolization is something that has been constant for many years now. Wedding rings have signified love since ancient times.

The true symbolization lies within the design of the ring. There are certain qualities of engagement and wedding bands that lend them perfectly to the beauty of love. For instance, the unbroken circle of a ring – this showcases how the couple has declared their undying love for one and other. The relationship and the bond is one that is to last for an eternity. Furthermore, the roundness is symbolic of how the two people come together to make one and other complete. There is a feeling of wholeness.

Of course, you can choose to further enhance the meaning associated with the engagement ring and wedding band you purchase. After all, with the boom in popularity of custom made rings, you can choose to have your very own symbols incorporated into the ring. There are lots of great custom jewelers today, and you can read more about one here: yourdiamondguru.com/reviews/blue-nile/. It could be something as simple as a heart-shaped diamond for your engagement ring. Or you could have the date you first met engraved on your wedding ring. Alternatively, you could opt for something that is completely unique to you and your partner’s relationship.

When buying both rings it is important that you consider them as one piece, rather than a separate engagement ring and a separate wedding band. After all, they are going to be worn together and therefore they will effectively become one symbol and one piece of jewelry. Therefore, when purchasing your wedding ring you need to ensure that it looks great against your engagement band. Most people tend to opt for a simplistic wedding ring and a more elaborate engagement band for this reason.

Nevertheless, there is no denying that the combination of both kinds of rings can prove to be a bit tricky to the untrained eye. This is why it is important to make sure that you choose a jeweler with care. You need someone with a lot of experience who is going to be able to create the perfect rings for you.

How to Be Safer At Home

How to Be Safer At Home

The home is your castle, and that means that you want to be able to step through the front door every evening after work and relax. The best way to relax? To know you are as safe as possible at home. At work, your employer puts measures in place to keep you safe and keep your job safe, too. Feeling safe at home and actually being safe are not the same thing, and you can never guarantee your safety in your home. However, you can work to make your living space the safest possible place to be. Let’s take a look at how you can be safer in your home.

Light It Up.

You need to add some exterior lights to your house and brighten your surroundings as the first step to making your home a safer place to be. You may have your license to carry application in, but you have to wait for that for a while. Lights are the alternative! You want to make sure that you light up the area to startle possible thieves, and you want to know that if you have CCTV installed, you can see everything the video catches. Think about your interior lights, too. They need to be up to date and energy efficient so that you are not at risk of fire in the house. It’s a big part of safety, to avoid fire hazards, and your lights need regular checks to ensure that they are not going to burn out.

Add Blinds.

When the night rolls in and the lights are on, you need to consider that people can see right into your home with the lights on and the curtains open. Blinds will block out the light and allow you to keep your valuables hidden away.

Cut The Bushes Back.

Overgrown bushes out the front and back of your home provide excellent cover for those who want to rob your house. Don’t give people the chance to hide away – cut them all back and you can ensure that there are no hiding places for those with negative intentions. There’s nothing to fear of the dark when there are no hiding places for shadows to go!

Make The Right Repairs.

When the house is creaking and groaning, you can bet that there are some issues that need to be fixed. When it’s windy, the house will creak, but you’ll definitely hear the difference between a creak and an actual loose part of the house blowing in the wind. Make the fixes that are necessary and you can keep the house from falling down.

Add a Night Light.

If you add a light in the house in the evening when you’re not home, it gives the illusion that you’re indoors and therefore make your home less of a target.

Join Neighborhood Watch.

If you have a neighborhood watch group, join in! You can all look after each other and keep an eye on the local area as a whole. This will mean that you are all taking responsibility for the local street together. You can feel better secure when this is the case.

Three Reasons Why It’s Important To Take A Break From Tech

Three Reasons Why It’s Important To Take A Break From Tech

Technology has been a wonderful thing in our lives, it has meant that we can stay connected to people all over the world, we can send emails in seconds, video chat with people on the other side of the world and find out news instantly and from all over like never before. However, with all the benefits our laptops, smartphones, and tablets bring, they have also brought a lot of stress and anxiety to people’s lives, and they are not always good for our health. People have become so reliant on their phones that a new cell phone law has been introduced as many people cannot cope for a couple of hours without using their phones. How did we cope before we had phones? There are many reasons why we need to take a break from tech, and here are three of them.

To better connect with people.

While you might think that you are connecting with people on your phone, you’re not – not properly. If you put your phone down, you can connect with those people you are with in real life. It’s easy to think you’re connecting with someone because you’re sat having dinner with them, but if you’re constantly looking at your phone or even just aware of your phone, then you’re not giving the other person your full attention. Have some time where you switch off your phone and spend time with people, get them to turn theirs off too, and see what a difference it makes. If you find that you’re struggling to make conversation, then it shows that you’ve been spending too much time on your phone and is definitely time to take a break.

You’ll be more productive.

For many things you need technology to get the job done, but how many times do you go to look something up and then get distracted by notifications and end up down a rabbit hole watching Youtube videos that are completely irrelevant to what you wanted to do in the first place and in fact you have forgotten what you were going to do in the first place. If you have jobs you need to do, turn the notifications on your mobile phone off, close down your social media pages on your computer, and cut down the distractions so that you can focus on whatever it is you want to achieve.

You’ll reduce stress. Being connected 24/7 is very stressful, whether it’s work who can contact you or it’s you checking your work emails all the time, there’s never time to switch off. Not only that, but too much time on social media means that many people are experiencing higher levels of anxiety from comparing themselves to other people and constantly feeling the pressure of how they look in their photos or what they are doing with their lives. Using technology can also disrupt your sleep, which is no good for stress, so it’s a good idea to turn off at least an hour before bed and read a book. Start doing this, and you’ll soon begin to feel less stressed.

We Love Ride-sharing, But It Is Any Safer Than Traditional Transport?

We Love Ride-sharing, But It Is Any Safer Than Traditional Transport?

There’s no doubt that ridesharing has exploded in popularity over the last few years. Uber and Lyft have both seen massive growth in their businesses. And now they are finally beginning to reflect their lofty valuation (which many people believed were excessive).

Ridesharing is likely to explode in the future as vehicles become more autonomous. In the next five to twenty years, we are likely to see the mass rollout of taxis driven by computers and available through apps. You tap on your phone, and then a taxi in the vicinity will come and pick you up and take you to your destination, perhaps without any driver at all. That’s the promise, anyway.

Is Ridesharing Safer Than Traditional Transport?

The question of whether ridesharing is safer than other modes of transport is going to become more critical as costs come down. Some analysts believe electric vehicles and autonomy could make the cost-per-mile of ridesharing half that of a contemporary motor vehicle. The technology, therefore, is likely to become dominant in the future. People won’t bother with personal motor vehicles if they know they can get an Uber at half the costs

Even so, risks remain. Ridesharing companies do an excellent job of vetting their drivers, but they’re not perfect. And even if the cabby is a professional, they can still make mistakes in the course of their work, putting people at risk.

Remember, these ridesharing services are a tool people can use to get around the high fares charged by licensed taxi services. The idea is to make city transport cheaper and more sustainable. But that means that you now have many people who have nothing more than a driving license, ferrying people around. And it is leading to added risks for passengers.

The good news is that the legal profession is getting on top of the problem. You can now recover the following damages if taking a ridesharing service causes injury: lost wages, medical costs, future medical care, and future lost wages. Thus, if a drivers’ negligence causes damage to you, you’re able to get back all of the money that you would have lost otherwise, and sometimes more.

The question of whether ridesharing is safer than traditional transport is difficult to answer. There are pros and cons to each. The most common belief, however, is that it is more dangerous because of the degree of autonomy drivers have.

For instance, a train driver is less likely to make mistakes, even if they are fatigued or drunk. An Uber driver, by contrast, always has to have their wits about them. If they lose concentration, they may shunt the car in front, causing whiplash, or skid off the road if they speed too fast around a corner.

Poor vehicle maintenance is another issue with which passengers must contend. Ridesharing “partners,” as the industry calls them, spend most of their time out on the road. Sometimes, they don’t have the time or inclination to service their vehicles, and something can go wrong.

Skin Tags: What Are They, And Should You Be Worried?

Skin Tags: What Are They, And Should You Be Worried?

Being healthy is about more than just eating well and exercising regularly. It’s even about more than making sure you’re well hydrated and getting plenty of sleep. Good health is also about awareness. It’s about taking the time to understand our bodies and know when something out of the ordinary manifests. For instance, checking your breasts regularly and properly is the best way to ensure that you catch the signs of breast cancer early. Likewise, we need to learn how to read our skin. Everything from poor hydration to diabetes and even cancer can be spotted early by understanding how your skin looks and feels under normal circumstances.

Image by Life of Pix via Pexels

When something unexpected shows up on our skin, it can be a source of great worry and anxiety. However, when it comes to skin tags, it’s easy to get freaked out. They look unsightly to some, and because they are packed with tiny blood vessels, they can be prone to bleeding. Here, however, we’ll address the myths and misconceptions while helping you to better understand skin tags.

First of all: It’s important to acknowledge what skin tags are not

Skin tags are not cancerous, and they will (in the overwhelming majority of cases) never be cancerous even if left untreated for the rest of your life. If you spot a skin tag, you may find it a minor irritation in otherwise unblemished skin, but they’re perfectly benign.

At least 25% of all adults will get skin tags somewhere on their bodies at some point in their lives. We tend to be more prone to them when we go above the age of 30.

What does a skin tag look like?

Just so we’re all clear, a skin tag is a small flesh colored growth on the skin that looks a little like a wart. Unlike a wart, however, it often grows out of the skin on a little stalk. In some cases, a skin tag may be a darker color than the rest of the skin.

Where do skin tags come from?

Medical science has yet to prove conclusively where skin tags come from and what causes them. The most popular theory, however, is that it may happen when little clusters of collagen and blood vessels get trapped inside thicker pieces of skin. Because they are more common in areas where the skin creases or folds, it’s possible that they could be caused by skin rubbing against skin.

Where can you get skin tags?

Skin tags can occur anywhere on the body, but are most commonly found on areas like the armpits, neck and eyelids. They can also occur in more intimate areas. They may occur on the genitals or the anus and can be mistaken for genital warts. Here’s some advice on how to remove anal skin tags. Because skin tags can catch and bleed, there are many who would rather remove them for practical and aesthetic purposes.

How do I remove skin tags?

Skin tags are not removed by regular skin care. However, they do not necessarily need surgery to be removed. Like warts, they can usually be removed by over the counter treatments. A skin tag may be an unwelcome sight, but if you don’t like the idea of removing it, you can rest easy that it will cause you no health problems.

Real Estate 101: Why isn’t Anyone Buying your Property?

Real Estate 101: Why isn’t Anyone Buying your Property?

If your home has been on the market for quite some time, then there are a few things that you need to do about that. Find out whatever you need to know, right here.

You’re Overconfident

Being in a seller’s market may mean that your home is going to get bought for a very high price, regardless of its condition. This isn’t always a strategy you should count on though. Sometimes homeowners and agents become overconfident and they get lazy too. If you want to help yourself here, then you need to be as realistic as you can from day one. Sure, you might love your home but you need to be willing to let it sit on the market for quite some time. You also need to prepare yourself for not having your home snapped up immediately.  Staging is also key, and if you are able to take this into account then there is no reason at all why you shouldn’t be able to come out on top.

The House Price is Too High

If there is a high demand but a very low supply, then you can usually expect to get more money for your home. That doesn’t mean that the sky is absolutely the limit when it comes to your listing price though. If you are in a seller’s market then you may feel completely comfortable pushing the asking price higher but at the same time, this can be a mistake.  Determining the best asking price for your home is a key point of your sale. If your home is at a price which is far above the market value, then you will certainly miss out on prospective buyers. The solution to this would be for you to make sure that the price is right. Get an analysis done of the local market and go through an agent as well. Utilising market trend data is also key as this will help you to get the best result overall.

Your Home Needs Some Love

Paying for home improvements might seem pointless when you are about to move out, but at the same time, it is the best way for you to try and get the most for your home. If you have pests or if you have holes where pests have been then it is vital that you sort this out as soon as possible. Look up how to get rid of mice and also make sure that you tend to any damages. If you don’t then you may end up losing out on a huge amount of money for your home and this is the last thing that you need.

Your Photos are Bad

Studies have shown time and time again that it only takes around 7 seconds to make a first impression. This concept does apply to your home. 90% of buyers start their search online and if they don’t see images of your home that they like, then this will really work against you. If you want to help yourself here then try and make the effort to take quality photos, or make sure that the angles your agent is using show your home in the best light.

5 Things to Consider When Buying a Motorcycle

5 Things to Consider When Buying a Motorcycle

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels

Millions of people around the world buy a motorcycle every year. An exciting vehicle to own as it’s so exhilarating to drive, so many adventures can be had from purchasing it. However, before you take the leap and buy one of your own, there are certain things that you’ll want to consider.

So to help guide you, here are 5 things that you have to keep in mind:

  1. Your Budget

One of the first things that you’ll want to think about is how much you want to realistically spend on the motorcycle. They don’t come cheaply and you might want to save ahead of time before setting your heart on your dream one. Also, you’ll have to think about how much the maintenance will cost, fuel, routine MOTs and the safety gear you’ll need to wear when driving it.

  1. New or Used?

Another thing that you’ll want to consider is whether you want to buy a motorcycle new or used. This will depend on several factors, including your personal preferences and what your budget is. However, there are also practicalities of each option.

For example, a new bike will come with a warranty – which will ensure that if anything happens to it in the first year or so of owning it, you’ll be covered. However, the newer the bike, the more expensive the initial outlay. Which is why it’s a good idea to compare and contrast the two options first, before settling on the one that you want.

  1. The Style

It’s important to know that motorcycles come in different styles. From touring motorcycles that are ideal for long-distance driving to sport bikes designed for racing to achieve maximum speed. Before deciding on one style, it’s therefore worth looking at the variety and what they have to offer.

  1. The Engine Size

This is a very important factor to take note of. The engine size will vary hugely depending on the type of bike you’re looking at – from 50cc for a moped to 125cc and more. This means that the speed and fuel economy will be affected – two factors that will undeniably impact your purchasing decision.

  1. Motorcycle Insurance

As part of your purchasing journey, you’ll also want to think about what type of motorcycle insurance you purchase. Not only in terms of its inclusions (liability coverage is frequently the number one choice because of what it includes) but how much it costs. It’s also a legality in many states.

Helping to protect you in case of property damage or from a typical motorcycle accident victims sustain, it gives you the peace of mind you need when on the road. Even if you’re striving to be a safer driver, this is a must-have from the get-go.

Final thoughts

So, there you go! Those are the top 5 things you’ll want to consider when buying a motorcycle. As long as you think about the above and factor them into your final decision, you’ll feel more prepared for the process.

How To Be A Safer Driver

How To Be A Safer Driver

Every single driver on the road assumes that they are the safest out there. They believe that their techniques are the best on the road and yet there are certain things on the road that can be a real threat – including you. You want to ensure that you are driving well, and that means examining your own habits and making improvements where possible.

Did you know that there are 490 pedestrian hit-and-run deaths every year? That’s 490 deaths too many, and you do not want to be a part of causing that statistic. You may already be a relatively safe option out there, but in the meantime you can work on yourself and share the road properly with the rest of the drivers beside you. Let’s take a look at how you can be a safer driver.

Remain Confidence

Are you aware that most people believe that they are confident drivers, and yet, they are aggressive? Aggressive driving is a big problem and it really does affect the rest of the drivers on the road. If you are not a confident person behind the wheel, you are going to end up driving aggressively in fear – that’s not the way to drive.

Remove Distractions

As you drive, you should be paying full attention to the road. You should avoid using your cell and you should try not to drive with blaring music. Distractions can kill you and other road users. It’s a privilege to be able to drive and you must respect your vehicle and its limitations.

Keep Your Distance

You will be hyper aware of how you drive and of those around you, and you need to keep a watch on the behavior of other drivers on the road. If you notice a vehicle swerving or speeding, you need to distance yourself from that driver. You can easily get caught up in a crash if you don’t.

Be Polite

If you want to be a good driver, be polite on the road. Let people go ahead of you when they are in the right, and if you see someone merging into your lane, you’re far more polite when you let people in. Try to lay off of beeping the horn at people and let them see how respectful you are on the road.

Follow The Law

The best way to be a good driver is to follow the law. You want to make sure that you know how to drive according to the law. You may be tempted to speed, and you may be tempted to drive through a yellow light. Don’t. The law says not to and it’s not a smart decision! You need to abide by the rules of the road and make sure that you don’t end up in a courtroom.

Being a safe driver is the most important thing to remember about being on the road; and you can stick to the rules and avoid becoming a statistic
