You’ve heard the term “Spring Cleaning”, well that is because it’s a great way to trigger the feeling of Spring. Deep cleaning your place is good to do twice a year, but most importantly around Spring time, to remove the dust and dirt that has piled up over the winter.

Open the blinds, wash the curtains and let that sun shine in even if it’s still a bit chilly out there. Wiping your place from top to bottom will make that stagnate air, fresh.

Don’t forget to clean the ceiling fans, you’ll be using them soon enough when the heat finally kicks in. It is so unsettling, when you turn on the fan and dust bunnies fly across the room. The easiest way to clean your ceiling fan is to take the dirty sock pile, put your hand in a sock, apply the dust cleaner and use your hand to wipe the blade. Pull off your hand inside out if the dust is really thick and get another sock for the other blades. When done, shake the socks out over the trash can while turning them right side in, and throw them in the wash. And wash your hands, of course.

Using steam to clean fabrics that are unable to go into the washer is a great wash to disinfect and deep clean.

Adding Spring colors as accent colors to a room will give a Spring time feel and lighting floral scented candles or getting air fresheners will give you the sense that Spring is in full bloom.

Winter blues can hit anyone. Hibernation is what the animals do; as humans we are just suppose to layer up and keep moving. But, the feeling of fatigue it hard to deny on cold dreary days. Seasonal depression is a real and serious condition that affects many during the winter months. And, if you feel you are suffering from seasonal depression you should call your doctor.

If you just need a pick me up on a sunless day, pick a comfy spot and watch a comedy, one you already know, that will make you laugh. Play a funny game with your family. Tell old joke or funny stories with your partner. Laughing will release the pleasant feelings in your brain, that in return will make you feel pleasant and able to combat the cold.

If you are feeling tired with no energy, oddly, watch an exercise video or an action flick. Solely watching, without partaking in action will make your body react as if it is involved. Your body will actually burn off calories and you will feel more energy. And, if it is a workout video, you may decide to take part in the workout or turn off the t.v. and turn on the music and dance, melting more calories away.

Emotions have a deep impact on how we can handle the season. Keeping your emotions in check during the winter season is important, so remember to laugh and get that heart pumping to keep your brain pumping. Seek medical help if you help with season changes.

Kick Start the Metabolism During Winter for Resolution. Tips on Triggers:

Tips on Triggers: Kick Start the Metabolism During Winter for Resolution.
Woman Doing Sit-ups

So, you have the resolution to shed some pounds for the new year. It’s OK, that’s the most common of resolutions every year.

First thing is first, you must keep your immune system up. Exercise is a way to build you immune system as well as diet. Adding Vitamin C is a great immune builder. Once your insides are feeling good, your outsides will start to show results. A healthy immune system will help your metabolism kick start and work properly.

A few good herbs to add into your diet will help in digestion and trigger the metabolism to become active in a dormant winter. Those herbs are things like parsley, basil and cinnamon, which are also great to help with digestion. Adding these garnishes to your meals and snacks, can have a positive outcome on your system. SIDE NOTE: Some individuals have allergies to herbs, use caution if it’s the first time trying any herb.

Eating 17 almonds (no more), daily, can help boost the metabolism.

Adding in activity, proper diet and portions will allow one to see results faster, but don’t get discouraged if the numbers aren’t quickly lowering, feeling good it the key. Don’t over do exercise or labor, remember slow and steady wins the race. Many times, people tend to over workout in one day and can’t move for days later; not effective.

There are so many trigger points in the body, but there are also scents and herbs that can trigger the brain. So if you are feeling fatigue, tired, exhaustion, lackadaisical, burnout, loss of memory and concentration, eat fresh or cooked Basil, which you can find usually, at any grocery store.

Basil has many healing properties including fighting the flu, gout, coughs, aches and many different exhaustion’s. If you can take the time to get the fresh herb or cook up the herb and add it to a dinner as a garnish on top, (don’t forget to eat this one) I’d say that’s the best method of kick-starting that
trigger in the brain and body.

Basil is also available in aromatherapy, where you can add the scent into your environment without ingesting, most aroma oils are not to be eaten, just enjoyed by scent.

Either method should start the brain to build up energy and give you back some concentration.
