Steady Hand for Applying Liquid Eyeliner. Tips in Action:

FreeDigitalPhotos.net/by moggara12
Applying a straight line on anything can be difficult. Especially, when it comes to your face, it can be nerve racking!

A simple little trick to get a smooth straight line for your upper lid doesn’t have to be rocket science, truly. In craftsmanship over the centuries, people use dowels to help steady the hand to get a straight line or apply something delicately.

By using the dowel concept, you can get a straight line on your lids too. Use your opposite hand as your dowel; keeping the drawing hand steady for application. If you only have one hand available to apply your eyeliner, then use your two free fingers as your dowel and rest them against the cheek to get the steady hand. This will help you achieve a good line a majority of the time. Like all things though, practice makes perfect!

Joint Pain and Golf Swing. Tips in Action:

Joint Pain and Golf Swing. Tips in Action:

It was a request to post a tip for joint pain suffers and golf. I’ve have heard that the Ten Finger grip also known as “baseball grip” is the best grip for joint pain suffers.

It’s a grip that most have also adopted for beginners and those with smaller hands to get more control on the ball.

The grip consists of simply locking the pinkie finger of the trailing hand close against the
index finger of the lead hand.

I love the sport, but I’m not a pro, but I know a pro that can help.

Golf pro Art Whaley, 2012 Eastern Shore Golf Hall of Fame Inductee, is teaching golfers the right way to do it in Bethany Beach, Delaware at the Salt Pond Golf Club. Book a lesson with Art Whaley to reach your inner pro.

Thanks to the Salt Pond Golf Club for their support of TipsfromTia.com and the Breastcancer.org Golf Outing.

Golf Outing Results, Pink Wins!

Golf Outing Results, Pink Wins!

I am so sore and tired, just like many of those that took part in the Breastcancer.org Golf Outing. But, congratulations to all that did take part in it to help, that no person has to live their life that way everyday, because of breast cancer.

I was there with my assistant Mady and hundreds of golfers, staff and volunteers. It was a fantastic day with great weather for us. I was honored to be part of the day. I proved that my golfing skills are not up to par, but whether the golfers did well or the course was unkind, we shown our human compassion skills were above excellence. The kindness of people and the workers made for a great day for us and for the cause. So the big winner of the day was pink and Breastcancer.org!

(Above: Tia and Assistant Mady in the golf cart) “Thank you for having me be part of this!” Tia

Remember, learn how to give yourself, self exams, be sure to get your mammograms and when in doubt consult with your doctor. Early detection is important and breast care knowledge can save lives.

So, I’ll be using my Tip in Action all day today to help soothe my sore muscles in my legs. Epsom Salt soak to loosen the muscles and wrap with heating pad to calm the ache. It was well worth it!

Flatter Abs Quick. Tips in Action:

Getting healthy doesn’t have to be hard and with a few quick tips you can enjoy flatter abs as well. With the summer months approaching we all feel that we have to start to fear how we are going to look in less clothing. There is no need to fear. When it comes to getting flatter abs its a lot easier that you would think, you just have give it 10 minutes every day.
I personally use my 4 step rule of 30 method.

Step 1: Sits up (High and mid abs)
 – Feet flat on the floor (Together)
 – Arms crossed over your chest
 – Come all the way up
-Stop 75% of the way down and come back up
 – Only need to do one set of 30 daily

Step 2: Modified Russian Twist (Obliques)
 – Feet apart on the floor, Flat
 – Finger tips touching your head
 – Do a sit up
-Once you reach the top twist to the one side
(Stay to the ONE SIDE for all 30)
 – Switch sides and repeat

Step 3: Bicycle Crunch (Mid and lower abs + obliques)
 – Legs 6 inches off the floor
 – Shoulders off the floor
 – Finger tips at your head
-Bring one knee in with the other leg straight
-Bring the opposite elbow to meet it
 – Repeat with other leg and elbow
 -This is a double count
(ex: hit, hit 1. hit, hit 2)

Step 4: Side Plank
(lower abs + obliques)
 – Elbow and forearm on the floor
 – Feet stacked on one another
-Raise hips to be level with the angle of your legs
 – Hold for 30 seconds
 – Come down SLOWLY
 -Switch sides

Cleaning Mini Blinds. Tips in Action:

By Tia Cristy

Tips in Action: Cleaning Mini Blinds.

Cleaning mini blinds are a pain to clean. Taking them down, finding the right cleaner to put on them and then, finding the scrub brush to get them clean.

Well, with an occasional wipe down over the weeks, you may only have to pull them down once or twice a year, especially in areas where the can collect a lot of grease and stickiness.

Put the blinds in the tub and spray with that famous spray bubble cleaner, let them sit for 5-10 minutes. Then, just rinse.

It really eats away at the grime without hurting the blinds.
