You don’t need to know the complete science behind why humidity triggers joint pain, for those that have these issues just know how painful it can be, and wish it would stop. Some people take medication to help with joint pain and it still can be, not enough to relieve all the discomfort. Well you can’t stop the rain, but you can try to comfort your joints.

When the joints start to twinge, try a hot shower; letting hot water hit the muscles and joints can relax the area. The water from the shower is introducing a instant precipitation to your body instead of the pressure of humidity building in the air around you. This can bring much relief.

If you are still experiencing the pain, or unable to shower, try a heated compress on the joint. And for extra support and warmth around the joint, try a bandage wrap around the area for the day. Keep a bandage wrap in the car or at work in case it happens unexpectedly. Keeping the joint and muscles warm, can help in keeping the area relaxed.

Feeling bloated and unable to have a bowel movement, can be a bit uncomfortable. There is no reason to feel embarrassed by digestion issues. There can be several reasons that can cause the body to get stopped up, for example, a bad diet, a change in diet, a crazy schedule, medications or a number of others.

Softeners can help the system get back on track, but some people fear what can actually happen, if they’ve never taken the medication before. I recommend calling your doctor when thinking of taking any medication, to see if it is best for you, as an individual.

If your not comfortable with medications or they are not for you; the body does have a trigger point for helping with constipation.

Feel about 3 inches down from your knee cap. Use that point of reference and move to the outer side of the leg. There is where the trigger point is. Press and hold that spot for 5 seconds and release for double the time, then repeat the hold again. Repeat this process about 10 times.

Using this trigger point daily can be a useful aid to many stomach issues and help you keep the peace with going #2.

The day is long and you didn’t get enough sleep, but you need to get through just a little longer. Your eyes are starting to close and you can’t control it.

Here’s a sensitive trigger point that can help you get a jolt to the eyes quickly. At the base of your head where it meets the neck is your occipital. Slightly rub on both sides with a light massage. This will give your eyes a burst of energy.  Don’t rub too hard. Too much pressure can cause damage, so be gentle to your sight.

It doesn’t always last long, so make sure you’re not operating heavy machinery, including driving, relying on this trigger point to get you to your finish line, but it will give you an ability to make it through that file or that end of the day board meeting.
