Hair Dryer Smells Burnt, Clean It Out Easy. Tips in Action:

By Tia Cristy

Tips in Action: Hair Dryer Smells Burnt, Clean It Out Easy.

If the hair dryer is smelling like it’s burning every time you turn it on, it’s time to clean it out. Dust and lint get trapped in the back screen. Cleaning it out can prevent the dryer from catching fire or burning out the fan and motor.

Remove the back screen and use a clean dry cotton swab in between the blades. Flip the swab to the clean side, and dust the screen off as well.

Put the dryer back together and it should run as good as new.

Tricks for Sunless Tanning.

Tricks for Sunless Tanning.

Problem: Hi Tia. It’s time for the pool to open, and I don’t want to look pale in my suit. Do you have any tips or tricks when it comes to self tanning?

Answer: Good question, and really, it’s a great alternative to tanning in the sun.

Sun is important for Vitamin D, but the rays can be harmful with too much indulgence. Sunless tanning can be natural with the right product, and only you, can determine which product and color is right for you. Trial and error may be what you have to do to find the right one; there are sprays, airbrushes, lotions and wipes to choose from.

Do a sunless tanner the day before you need a tan. It’s easy to correct any mistakes or darken your color if needed. Jumping in water after applying sunless tan, will just leave you a streaky mess and it’s not good for the pool water either. So plan accordingly.

First tip, use a separate face tanner, on the face, unless the tanning product says, full body. Body tanners can slightly dye hair, and darkening facial hair is not a goal for most.

The next tips would be, don’t shave legs before applying tanner, if possible. Exfoliating your legs and body before tanning is a good way to get a longer lasting tan. Shaving before hand can cause razor burn or darken pores. Shaving is best, after tan color has been achieved.

Remember, tanning can dye clothes, so be sure to wear dark colors while waiting for color to take. Wash hands well when finished, when using a lotion or wipe. Do forget to get around jewelry, if wearing it. Color can tend to build up behind rings.

If hands have turned color or you have any darker patches, use peroxided on a cotton ball (wring out, so no drips or runs happen) and wipe the area. It will fade the color to blend within a few hours.

Tips on Triggers: Relieve Stress.

Of Course, there are many methods of relieving stress, and here is just another quick response area, to relieve stress swiftly.

Massage firmly above the breasts, yet below the collar bone, on the chest with your fists, in a circular motion. Move the radius of motion, towards the center out towards the arm pit. This will loosen the muscles, while it relieves stress and push toxins towards the glands, for release from the body.

Deodorant Not Working. Tips in Action:

Tips in Action: Deodorant Not Working.

Deodorant not working? Don’t go clinical strength, if you don’t have too. Sweat is a good thing; sweat releases toxins and other things you don’t want in the body. You may smell, but a good cleaning, should wash is away. If it doesn’t, clinical strength deodorant, isn’t going to change that, you got to change from the inside out. Stink means, fungus and/or bacteria.

To Get rid of both fungus and bacteria, vinegar will kill both.

Get gauze and soak it with vinegar and apply to armpits for 5-10 minutes. The armpit will absorb the vinegar. This will reset the balance in your armpits.

Keep Lip Color on Longer, While Moisturizing and Protecting. Quickie:

Quickie: Keep Lip Color on Longer, While Moisturizing and Protecting.

There are so many products on the market now to make lip color last. But, what are the ingredients? It may leave your lips feeling sticky or doesn’t have protection properties in your shade.

The old school way to keep your lips protected and lush is putting your foundation on your lips as well as the rest of your face. Foundations have moisturizers, SPF, are well tested for years; being hypo-allergenic and are not sticky. Another bonus is, you will get a true shade of color, without the lips natural tint, altering the color.

Let the foundation set for a couple minutes, then add on your favorite shade of lip liner and/or lipstick. It won’t last all day, but it will set naturally and last longer than plain lipstick alone.

Quickie: Get a Smooth Shave on Legs.

To get a quick smooth shave on your legs, use hair conditioner to shave your legs. The conditioner will soften the course hair. I do not recommend using conditioner on armpits or vaginal areas due to fragrances that could change your body’s PH.

Quickie: Bring Back Natural Hair Highlights After Winter.

Natural highlights always seem to dull during the long winter months. Boost back highlights, by adding a small amount of lemon juice to shampoo. Adding only a couple drops, will help the sun brighten your locks naturally, without bleaching. For getting a lighter effect, add more lemon juice and let it sit for a couple minutes, before washing out.

Freezing the Odor Out of Your Shoes. Stupid Tip of the Day:

By Tia Cristy

Stupid Tip of the Day: Freezing the Odor Out of Your Shoes.

There are many tips out there that people say are true, I try to give you the tips that are true, and point out the ones that aren’t.

I heard freezing your shoes will remove odor. Fact is, freezing the shoes can sometimes only freeze the bacteria and fungi that is making the shoes smell in the first place, so once it is frozen, some top layer, bad stuff, may die off, and the smell will go away. But, once your feet warm up the shoes, the bacteria and fungi that didn’t die off, will thaw, have an extra moisture source and begin to grow again. And, may make the situation worse.

So, freezing is not the way to go, kill odor with vinegar. Wiping shoes down with a vinegar soaked cotton ball and letting it dry will kill the bad stuff and reduce the smell. Keep this in mind, bacteria and fungus can penetrate deep so I recommend rubbing shoes down with vinegar once a week, even if there is no odor.
