Tips For Beautiful Hands And Nails

The appearance of your hands and nails can speak a lot about you and your health. Most women take perfect care of their face but often ignore taking care of their hands including nails. If you are health conscious or beauty conscious then you must pay equal attention to the health and beauty of your hands and nails. Hands are prone to show early signs of aging as they are often exposed to the harsh chemicals like soaps and detergents most of the time. They are washed several times a day, which robs them of their moisture and make them harder.

If you take sufficient care of your hands then they will look pretty, clean and soft and will also possess equal nails. If you think that you do not possess such soft hands then you need not worry. You can learn some vital tips for beautiful hands and nails in this article.

The first tip for beautiful hands and nails is to use a moisturizing cream regularly and at least 4 times in a day. You should always try to clean your hands including nails before bedtime and apply a suitable moisturizing cream. And if you possess dry hands then you need to take some extra care. Extremely dry hands need to be moistened more often.

Hands lose their lipids due to frequent washing and being exposed to hard water. So you must select a cream for your hands that essentially contain natural ingredients so as to compensate for the loss of lipids. During winter time, you must use hands creams that have extra nutrition and contain more oiling substances like glycerin, paraffin, Vaseline, silicon, sunflower oil, or ceramids. You can get extra benefits if your hand creams also contain anti-aging elements. This way you will be able to delay the aging of your hands too!

Another useful tip for people, who have rough palms, is to massage their palms with a mixture of sugar and any oil mixed in equal proportion. If you have rough palms then you can massage your palms with this mixture for about a minute. Leave it for about 10 minutes and then rinse off with water.

A useful tip for beautiful hands and nails is to simply provide protection to your hands by wearing a pair of gloves while handling work that are rough in nature. It may include sweeping up your house and cleaning your lawn, gardening, etc. You should also protect your hands from an abrupt change in temperature, especially during the winter time.

In order to get beautiful nails, you must choose a product that contains stuffs and extracts of horse hair. These products can provide additional strength to your nails. If you have got stains on your nails then you can remove these stains by treating them with a mixture prepared by adding some lemon juice in water. You can also treat your nails every alternate day with olive oil to keep them strong and healthy. Avoid cutting your nail cuticles and file your nails periodically in an appropriate way.

Is Argan Oil that Magical?

Is Argan Oil that Magical?

Green Esthetics Argan Oil
Green Esthetics Argan Oil

Argan oil has been added here and there and just about anywhere, nowadays. Is it really that magical? It’s an oil that claims to be amazing for hair, skin, and nails, but when put to the test what does it offer?

I’ve learned that products that now contain Argan oil doesn’t hurt to have it in there as long as the individual doesn’t have any reaction to the oil. You can find it in shampoo, body cream, face cream, or nail products. The amount of Argan  oil in each individual product is hard to tell from some labels.

Personally, I started using a pure Argan Oil from Green Esthetics. It’s pure Moroccan Argan Oil. It contains no additives.

So what results did I see from adding it into my daily routine?

I started it on my face. I’m very sensitive, so this was a true test. It was fantastic. The oil is light and absorbs quickly. I noticed fine lines reduce within a week or so. It calmed any irritation I had going on prior. Argan oil has been known to heal and prevent acne.

Next, I tried it on blown dried hair. The slight frizz was tamed, without being weighed down or looking greasy. Also the oil can be used on wet hair for a deep treatment, and then rinse out.

I only tried it on my nails for a few days. That’s were I noticed the crazy results. My nails grew rapidly and strong within three days. Now, I guess it was also a result from my hands applying the oil elsewhere prior, but still the results were quick.

Sound too good to be true? Well here’s a chance to try it yourself for free. TipsfromTia.com and GreenEsthetics.com are giving away a full 30ml size bottle of Moroccan Argan Oil to one lucky winner.

Look Rich to Get Rich.

Once you find yourself in the world of business, you will realize that there is much more than just doing a good job that influences you and your company. It’s about many other factors as well, including advertising, observing the market, trying to beat competition, and keeping up appearances. It’s not just the way you dress that can determine whether you will sing the next contract or not, but the way your office looks too.

Sharp dressed men and women

It is not necessary to spend all your savings on acquiring designer clothes and pieces so you have no money for food afterwards just so you can look rich. You can achieve the ‘rich and sophisticated’ look without breaking the bank. Wear well-fitting clothes, and make sure every piece on you is clean and in good condition. What is more, you don’t have to wear pieces that have designer logos stamped all over them; designer clothes usually are discreet with their logo placement, but you should make sure all your clothes are of good quality and preferably from natural materials. In addition, you can find a tailor and have at least some items custom made for you – no better way to ensure your clothes are well-fitting.

The space you work in

What good is it to be dressed in the best clothes when you will be sitting in a broken down chair in a dusty office that even has no windows? You need your office to reflect the air of wealth if you would like to attract similar clientele. This means a comfortable couch and armchairs in the waiting room, classy office chairs around your desk, and an office desk made of high-quality materials such as glass, steel, mahogany, and marble. You should also make sure there is enough natural light and plenty of functional and stylish lamps which will make the best atmosphere. However, try not to make your working environment too sterile; make sure your furniture is comfortable, and have live plants and fresh flowers around to liven up the atmosphere.

The details that matter

Painting Fingernails

Remember, it is not just the way you dress and decorate your office that counts, it’s the way you pay attention to details and take care of yourself.

Dirty fingernails are repulsive unless you are a gardener or a mechanic, so manicure is a must. In addition, dandruff all over your shoulders and dirty hair will make you look messy and less professional. Clean hair or at least a hairstyle which will disguise the fact that you are dying to wash it will do the trick; and this is one of the reasons women love braids and buns. Having a few expensive accessories will make you look good and professional even when paired up with plainest possible clothes: good watch, designer sunglasses, expensive tie, or a discreet piece of jewelry.

Remember, keeping up appearances and always looking your best is incredibly important, but that doesn’t mean you should forget about other things completely. Always offer the best service, focus on professionalism, and be honest with your potential and regular clients and customers, as well as with your employers. After all, money doesn’t fall from heaven and you should make an effort and have a lot to offer before you get rich.

Sexy Hair Tips is Coming to TipsfromTia.com

Sexy Hair Tips is Coming to TipsfromTia.com

I am so please to present TipsfromTia.com newest contributor, Sexy Hair guru, J. Christian. Before I tell you J.’s first tip he shared with me, let me fill you in on how the stars aligned and our paths crossed.

I was out and about with a friend the other week. We had just enjoyed a delicious plate of the most incredible sautéed brussels sprouts with goat cheese and we were acquiring our final cocktails, when a group of men walked past us, fully painted ebony with gold leaf swirls painted across their chests. Needless to say, it caught our eyes. The chiseled men posed with patrons as a classy, professional business woman stood guard over them. I asked the woman what was the deal. Marcy, as she introduced herself, told me it was a charity event for the local children’s hospital and her husband, J. Christian and their salon donated their time and painted these live statues for the event. Moments later a man with long, rocker hair, tattoos and rings on every finger opened his arms to me as he said, “Tia, I’m J. Christian.”

J. and Marcy were instantly friends of mine. I adored them for taking time to help the children. Yet, I fell in love as I learned about their history. J. has been an international artist and teacher when it comes to the hair industry. Marcy is the business part. They have one rule with each other, Marcy writes the checks and J. does the hair. The posh J. Christian Studio in Hockessin has one rule too. “Ensure everyone that comes in contact with the salon is elevated by the experience and looks and feels better about themselves and lives.”
Helping children isn’t the only charities J. Christian participates in; they donate a lot of time, yearly raising money for various charities. J. spends his daily time teaching not only his employees on how to be the best to their clients, but also teaches his clients the right techniques for their individual hair types. J. has high standards when it comes to his staff. But, that is what makes the salon so award worthy.

J. Christian Studio

Sitting in his vibrant red chair while he cut my hair using a dry technique, he schooled me on the history of hair care products. The discussion focused more on what ingredients not to use, instead of what products I have to use, like other salons try to do. I found out that he was named a top 6th artist in the world, and this New Yorker chose Hockessin, De. to call home during this time in his life. People will travel to get a cut and color at the J. Christian Studio, and by the time he pulled off my cape I could certainly see why. But, it wasn’t just a cut… It was a fulfilling experience. I felt beautiful and smarter by the time I got out of his chair.
Before I left the studio, I ensured J. Christian for my readers to learn as well. He is now our newest addition to the group and he will contribute hair care tips on a regular basis for TipsfromTia.com.
I welcome him and his company, and I hope you take advantage of his upcoming tips and share TipsfromTia.com links with your friends and family.

Ok, time for the very first tip I got from J. Christian. He shared with me… Don’t put tea tree oil in the shampoo for dandruff. For better results, Apply the tea tree to the scalp  a few minutes before washing your hair to beat dry scalp this upcoming winter.

2015 is the Year of Nails: 8 Hottest Nail Trends to Watch Out For. By Guest blogger, Kathleen

2015 is the Year of Nails: 8 Hottest Nail Trends to Watch Out For
Mani fans, listen up! 2015 is going to be the year of surprising nail trends and you’re definitely going to want to try them. Remember Rita Ora’s $56,000 VMA manicure last year? And what about the ombré, marble and nail, tape trends – will they stay or will they go? It’s time to find out what your nails are in for in 2015!

1. Negative Space is Positive Taste

All Photos Provided by, Guest Blogger Kathleen

Short nails are definitely in for the coming spring and with it the A+ trend of negative space nail art. By not painting in creative shapes, you can craft pretty and eye catching art on your fingertips. Crescents, stripes, chevron, you name it – they can all be designed by cleverly using some tape.

2. Criss-cross Your HeART
2One of the biggest trends for the Spring/Summer runways, carefully painted criss-crosses seem to have taken over. It’s the perfect nail look for sophisticated events, parties and even for when you say, “I do.” Such nail art is taught by reputed beauty schools such as Marinello all over the country, so if you’re interested in learning nail art, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting the training you need for it.

3. Pretty in Pastel 3
Who says you need glitter to look glamorous? Sheer, nude and glossy pastel shades are in! It may surprise you, but that age old beauty tip – “keep it simple,” applies to manicures too! The best part is, you won’t need a fancy artist to do it for you – it’s easy enough to do at home.
4. Think Linear Thoughts
If you can recall Sarah Hyland’s 2014 Emmys manicure you know you can’t go wrong with nail tape. It adds elegance to dainty tips and is super easy to use. It’s no wonder the trend is still popular, and will remain so. Don’t be surprised if you see it again on the red carpet this year.

5. Double French Tips
4French manicures are classy by themselves, but add a little twist to it and you’ve started a new trend. Two different polishes, a steady brush and ready fingertips and you’ve got a cute manicure you can wear for a bachelorette party.

6. Ombré Monday to Friday
Even those not really into fashion noticed the trend of half dyed hair. Blending a color into another became popular enough to try on nails and what a trend it has turned into! Ombré nails will not be ushered out anytime soon. If you didn’t try it last year, 2015 gives you a whole new chance!

7. Geometrical Patterns

8Triangles, squares, rectangles – you can make the Pythagorean Theorem fun with a shapely pattern on your fingernails. With a little creativity, you can create your own never-before-seen mani. It’s guaranteed you’ll want to experiment with this trend more than once.

8. In 3/4 Time
Going geometric is gorgeous, but if you’d prefer something simpler, simply paint ¼ of a nail one color, and the remaining ¾ another. Nail art doesn’t get simpler than that – and it doesn’t look too shabby either. Here’s to another nail trend you can try at home!

New year, new resolutions, new fashions and new nails. Give your tips a treat this year and try out a few of these nail art trends to celebrate 2015.

Trigger Nail Growth. Tips on Triggers:

Trigger Nail Growth. Tips on Triggers:

Painting Fingernails

You may have heard this as an old wives tale, but it has some true science behind it. Tapping your finger tips, with a few repetitions, can in fact, stimulate the blood to the tips and help in the growth of finger nails and good circulation in the hands.

Remember, it can be rude to tap your fingers while engaged in a conversation, so leave the reps till your in your private time.

Lighten Up Yellow Finger Nails. Tips in Action:

By Tia Cristy

Tips in Action: Lighten Up Yellow Finger Nails.
TipsfromTia.com Don't Forget

Finger nails can yellow for several reasons including things like, fungus, smoking, dying hair, painting and most commonly wearing nail polish constantly, due to lack of oxygen on the nail.

A tip to lighten that yellowing is getting gauze pads and soaking them in peroxide. Then take the gauze and wrap 1 pad around each finger and leaving them on for about 15-20 minutes. This is good for the nail because of its antibacterial properties and bleaching abilities.

This will give a bleaching effect to the nail that will continue well after removing the gauze, which is more noticeable the next day. The nails can be painted over after the treatment, the treatment just provides health benefits to the nail and nail bed.

If you have major yellowing of the nails, talk to your doctor about nail fungi, and medical support for it.

Liquid Paper as Nail Polish. Stupid Tip of the Day.

By Tia Cristy

Stupid Tip of the Day: Liquid Paper as Nail Polish.

white out tipsfromtia.com

OK, so we may have all been there. Got some place to go and your nails look atrocious? Maybe you’re at the office and happy hour is calling your name but you nails are screaming ewww! Or you could be bored in the classroom, and painting your nails would be a good way to pass the time, but all you have is a “correction” bottle.

Liquid paper dries quickly, as we know, so applying a coat, will hide those nails from the world. Here’s the only problem with that quick trick. It will save you embarrassment for the happy hour, but people tend to leave it on till it flakes off. Don’t do that!

Take off your quick concealer as soon as you get home. Or if you have the option of polish or liquid paper use the nail polish. The fumes in liquid paper are strong, you will be able to smell the product days after it dries, and the chips that flake off are unhealthy so you don’t want it to flake off by itself and end up in your foods and eventually in your stomach.

Painful Cuticle. Tips in Action:

By Tia Cristy

Tips in Action: Painful Cuticle

On the side of your nails, sometimes the cuticle can pull away and become painful and infected. This can happen if your nails are in a need of care. The result is painful, but treating it before an infection sets in, is very important.

When you see the cuticle frayed away from the nail, take a sterilized pair of nail clippers and cut down as close to the skin as possible, without clipping the skin. (Side Note: there maybe no need to trim the nail down, to treat the area)

Rinse with hydrogen peroxide. (it may or may not sting)

Then, apply antibiotic cream to the nail and allow it to soften and heal the cuticle. Reapply ointment if needed. Use a bandage if necessary.

Once the area is healed, it might be a good idea to visit your local manicure table. Nail techs can help get those nails back into shape. Remember above all, nail health starts on the inside. So talk with your doctor if you’re having issues with your nails. A quick change in your diet or B vitamins might just do the trick to having better nails.

Speed Dry Nail Polish. Quickie:

By Tia Cristy

Quickie: Speed Dry Nail Polish.

Taking time to pamper yourself is a great thing, all women deserve. But, what happens when you don’t have time for a full mani/pedi; you just have enough time to put a quick coat of polish on the nails. Dry time can put you behind schedule.

Here’s a quick tip to help seal the polish from nicking or smudging. Let the polish air dry for a few minutes. Then, run the nails under lightly running, cold water. Water and oil never mix, so the water will raise the oils in the polish a rinse them away. This will help reduce dry time, and nails won’t be tacky.
