What To Consider When Having Cosmetic Procedures

What To Consider When Having Cosmetic Procedures

Cosmetic procedures are something you should take very seriously. There can be many things that can go wrong, and it’s important you know what to expect so that you’re not disappointed. Here are some things to consider when having cosmetic procedures.

Do Your Research

Doing your research when it comes to any cosmetic treatment is essential. Whenever it’s something new, you want to have an awareness of what the procedure is and what’s involved. That way, you know exactly what you are getting yourself into, so you won’t be unpleasantly surprised by anything you weren’t expecting. It’s also good for your own safety too because there might be something that they do that will have a reaction on your body or that you know won’t be appropriate. So make sure that whatever the procedure is, you’re getting the right amount of research done to be fully aware of what you’re diving into. Even if you’ve had it done before, it’s a good idea to remind yourself what’s involved, especially if you’re going somewhere new.

Know The Risks If There’s Any

Risks are something that can tend to come with many treatments when there are products used on it or tools that might end up with the skin or body reacting to it in some way. So whether you’re having injectable fillers or have a non-invasive fat freezing treatment, it’s important to know what the risks are. Whatever issues you’re trying to tackle, whether it’s micropigmentation or the appearance of wrinkles, it’s essential that you know what those side-effects might be and any risks that you might be taking when it comes to getting the procedure.

Do It For You And Only You

When getting a cosmetic treatment like anything you do to yourself, it must be for you and only you. A lot of people will get these cosmetic treatments because of what seems to be normal to have in society or perhaps friends or family have recommended you get it. But that’s something you don’t want to be doing, and instead, it needs to be something that you do for you, and that makes you happy. If you’re doing it for other people, then you are certainly going to regret it or not be the happiest when it comes to making those decisions.

Keep Up With The Aftercare

The aftercare of any treatment is important to follow up. Just because you’ve done the treatment, it doesn’t mean that you don’t need to do anything else. For some treatments like lipocontrast, you need to be drinking lots of water and maintaining a consistent level of fitness and healthy eating. Make sure you ask all the relevant questions before leaving the cosmetic clinic to ensure you know everything that is needed.

Cosmetic procedures are a common practice for many people in order to change the way they look or the way they feel. Make sure that you’re doing this for you and nobody else, read up on the procedure itself, and know the risks or side-effects that come with it.

How to Stay Safe While Whitening Your Skin

How to Stay Safe While Whitening Your Skin

Image by Steve Buissinne from Pixabay

Even if all dark-skinned people are being encouraged to love their natural skin color and be proud of it, some of us still prefer a lighter skin tone, which isn’t a bad thing to desire – after all, to each their own. In Asia, fair skin is widely promoted as a beauty standard, so whitening products are big everywhere and some people even go to extreme lengths and pay hefty amounts of money just to have their skin lightened.

But health concerns have been raised as the skin whitening trend continues. Risks of cancer and other skin conditions are brought to light after some whitening methods are introduced, such as skin bleaching. Doctors also enumerated ingredients that should be avoided in order to stay cancer-free while having your skin whitened.

That said, let’s talk about how to stay safe while whitening your skin.

How Skin Whitening Works

Our skin has special cells called melanocytes, which is responsible for producing pigment, a.k.a melanin. If you have dark skin, it means your melanocytes produce more melanin compared to those of people with fair skin. In skin whitening or bleaching, this function of the melanocytes is blocked, reducing the amount of melanin they normally do, so that you’d have lighter skin in turn.

Safe Ingredients

If you wish to lighten your skin, only stick to products that use vitamin C, vitamin A, or vitamin B3 to reduce melanin production. These vitamins are safe blockers and you can find them in over-the-counter skin whitening toners and other topical products. Herb ingredients such as licorice and emblica, as well as fruit acids such as glycolic acid, are also safe for the skin and health.

Unsafe Ingredients

If you’re not careful when you shop, you may end up purchasing affordable but harmful products that increase your risk of developing cancer and other skin conditions. Every time you look for whitening products, always read their ingredients list, and avoid anything with the following:

  • Hydroquinone

Only 2% or less hydroquinone content is considered safe. Anything above is toxic to the body, so it’s best to stay away from this ingredient.

  • Mercury

Applying anything with mercury on your skin is one of the worst things you can do to your body. It’s a toxic metal that can cause kidney failure and problems to the nervous system.

  • Steroids

Steroids thin your blood vessels and reduce blood flow, making your skin look paler and thus fairer. With prolonged use, complications may occur in blood pressure levels, blood sugar, and even in mental health.

  • BHT or BHA

Butylated Hydroxytoluene andButylated Hydroxyanisole are proven to cause cancer in animals as per tests. If that’s the case, it’s best to steer clear of these ingredients.

  • Dioxane

This is unregulated in most countries because of its toxicity, so stay away from dioxane as well.

  • Fragrances

If you have sensitive skin, fragrances may give you allergic reactions such as irritation, itchiness, or inflammation, so it may be better to avoid them.

DIY Skin Whitening

If you’re super health-conscious but would still love to whiten your skin, you can try a DIY bleach formula. It only consists of pure lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide, but be extra careful when using them, because they may get in your eye and irritate it. If you have dark spots you wish to eliminate, safe home remedies include apple cider vinegar, aloe vera, and green tea extract, so opt for any of those.

Remember that all skin colors are beautiful, so even if you wish to lighten yours, keep in mind that your darker skin still makes you beautiful and it also deserves your love and praise. Treat your skin with care by using only products that are proven safe and effective.

Skin Care at Any Age

Skin Care at Any Age

One of the biggest questions I receive is people wondering what is the best age to start taking care of your skin.

Skin is the largest organ we have and taking care of it starts from the day you were born.

The day you were born…

Gentle soaps and lotions are used on babies to hydrate and protect. Think of it this way… Your skin has been nourished since day one.

Terrible teen years…

Being a teen is rough on skin. Hormones are raging and marching across your face. Breakouts from poor diets and poor makeup can wreak havoc on our complexion. Introducing a good gentle cleansing program can be beneficial. Washing with honey and water can help clear up acne since honey had natural antibacterial properties.

Ah, twenties…

The twenties are for learning a lot about life. That includes learning what to eat and taking care of yourself. You become aware of the millions of makeup products that are available and have a top drawer full of them to prove it. Most important thing to remember is to clean your face. Use fragrance-free makeup wipes or cleanser before you go to bed. Sleep helps cells regenerate. And a clean face will allow your cells to do their job properly. Don’t forget to clean your makeup brushes as well. Bacteria grows fast, and you don’t want to slather bacteria all over your skin.

Moving towards your thirties…

By your late twenties/early thirties, you should have a solid skin regimen. Cells are slowing down, which makes it harder for skin to bounce back like it used to. Using natural products like Nakin anti-aging eye treatment and lip balm can help skin stay plump without harmful ingredients. The eye cream is silky, not greasy. The lip balm is minty and cool, not sticky and dry. Natural products can be extremely helpful in maintaining healthy skin.

Over forty-plus and fabulous…

Collagen loss is a major issue after a certain point in life. A healthy diet can help boost collagen reproduction. Bone broth, B vitamins and amino acids can be a secret weapon against prematurely aging. As for skin care products, adding moisture to your skin is a must. Products with hyaluronic acid is a good way to hydrate.

Correction of skin issues are mostly possible. The most important thing to remember is, improvement takes time. Don’t get discouraged if using a product for a few weeks and you don’t see a change. Some products can make skin worse before it becomes better. This is the process of ‘purging’. Side note: purge can take about three months.

So, what is the best age to start taking care of your skin? I say, the best time to start taking care of your skin is when you ask yourself that question. And the first step to protecting your skin from aging poorly is to invest in sunscreen for your face. Your future skin will thank you for it.

These Simple Habits Can Help You Look and Feel Younger

These Simple Habits Can Help You Look and Feel Younger

by Guest Blogger, Dana B.

Ever feel like you’re 35 going on 65? Feeling older than you actually are is usually a strong indicator that you need to change your lifestyle habits. Aside from the emotional impacts, feeling older can mean that your physical health is being affected by your everyday habits. Still, it can be tricky knowing which advice to follow when it comes to healthy aging, The best lifestyle changes to make are ones that are backed by research, like the ones below.

Eat More Gut Healthy Foods

Listening to your gut is crucial for important decisions, but it can also be important for healthy aging. According to Gaiam, there are several links between gut health and overall health, including inflammation and lowered immunity, but these changes can be easily reversed to promote healthier aging. While supplements and treating infections are helpful, you can also turn to gut healthy foods to restore the balance in your own internal microbiome. Most people already know that yogurt contains healthy bacteria, but it’s possible to boost gut health with garlic, almond milk, pickles and even dark chocolate. These vitamin-, probiotic- and prebiotic-rich foods either contain the same gut-healthy bacteria or helpful fiber, both of which can help maintain balance in your digestive system.

Find Ways to Maintain Hydration

You’ve heard it over and over again: Hydration is important. Although you may recognize this importance, you may not fully understand the benefits of hydration for your mind and body, especially when it comes to feeling older. For example, hydration can provide an energy boost, improve the appearance of skin, and even promote weight loss. So, you will look and feel younger, no matter your real age. Drinking all that water can be a challenge for many folks, though, which is why it’s useful to have some hydration tricks to make yourself drink more often. Pack a large water bottle in your bag before you head off to work, or add some fruit to your water, to make staying hydrated less daunting and something you start to look forward to each day.

Always Wear Sunscreen When Outside

When people who look and feel younger talk about their habits, they also tend to emphasize the importance of sunscreen use. That means wearing SPF any time you’re going to be out in the sun. Damaging UV rays—which can cause changes to skin appearance and skin cancer—are present whether you can see them or not, and seeing skin damage in the mirror can definitely make you feel older. The next time you’re going to be outside in the daytime, dermatologists recommend applying sunscreen that contains SPF 15 or 30; anything higher might actually provide false skin protection against the sun’s rays.

Stop Following Every Fad Diet

Maintaining a healthy weight can help you look and feel better. If you’re turning to fad diets to achieve that trim body, however, you may actually be risking your health. For instance, one fad diet claims that you can eat bentonite clay (volcanic ash) to help you lose weight, but according to Dr. Anton Emmanuel, gastroenterologist, you’re putting your digestive system, kidneys and heart at risk of failing. So if you want to change your diet, just focus on eating whole, nutritious meals that you can easily prepare at home or obtain from a delivery service if it’s in your budget.

If you Google “healthy aging,” you’re bound to be bombarded by a lot of wellness fads and complicated information. Really, though, looking and feeling younger just takes some simple changes to your basic everyday habits. So drink more water, wear sunscreen, and eat foods that will nourish your gut, your body and your overall health. Because those little, research-backed habits really can help you age better and feel younger.

Beauty Hacks You Should Know About

Beauty Hacks You Should Know About

Hacks! What is a hack really? Well, it is a way to make something quick. To use a product in a new way. To make things easier. Some are life-changing – like the current photo of how you should be packing your suitcase, and others are just a bit smart, like ditching shampoo and learning to co-wash for people with curly hair.

Here are some quick tips to help you manage your skincare and beauty routine a little bit better.

Sunglasses are laden with sweat and bacteria.

More often than not, people put them straight back on their face without cleaning them. If you have time for a breakout then cool, if not keep a pack of alcohol wipes in the sunglasses case, or your bag – and set a reminder for every day of the summer. Your pores will thank you.

Ditch shaving cream.

If you are using a razor instead of other hair removal techniques, then next time your shaving use a conditioner instead. It makes the skin slippier, smoother and adds hydration. Many women finding making this switch lessens shaving rash too.

Cleavage needs some love too.

Sunscreen is not a hack; it is an essential, however; the hack for looking a bit perkier is highlighting in all the right places. If you need a lift, or just really want to feel super confident then try silicone inserts or a great push up bra. If you need a more permanent solution, then Kitto Plastic Surgery might be worth a look.

Natural make-up remover?

Well, while some of the chemical-filled ones really will do the job, and some micellar waters are for sensitive skin to be even more basic – in a good way – use a reusable cotton pad and some coconut oil. The oil will get rid of every single drop of make-up and is really hydrating. If you are prone to breakouts, then cleanse after as usual.

Eye cream is essential.

Your eyes take a heck of a lot of damage from the sun, from us not drinking enough water and of course all that laughing we do. It is the first place that is likely to show your age, or even age you. The skin can become dry there too. A rich night eye cream will give some serious hydration. The hack? Use it around your mouth too. It’s gentle enough not to cause a breakout and designed to plump out fine lines and wrinkles.

Vaseline is still queen.

There are so many other slaves on the market, but if you are looking for a quick fix to pretty much, any beauty problem vaseline is your friend. Dry lips? Vaseline. Chapped knuckles? Vaseline. Need to slick your brows? Vaseline. If you are heading somewhere after work and don’t have your kit with you – a slick of vaseline on your cheekbones will work in place of highlighter too.

Confidence.

Working on your confidence will be a long term thing really, but you can quickly make yourself feel better by slinging on your favorite lipstick, favorite shoes, and hold that superwoman pose for a few minutes. It will make you feel powerful and ready to take on the world.

The Top 5 Natural Skin Care Tips for Aspiring Models

The Top 5 Natural Skin Care Tips for Aspiring Models

As you enter the exciting and glamorous world of modeling, you will notice that clients and modeling or talent agents will always take a good look at your face first as you enter the room. Because of this, it is important to maintain flawless, glowing skin that will help you stand out from the competition and give you a higher chance of getting the job.

As such, regardless of your age, if you want to become a successful model, you need to take care of your skin. You must develop the right habits to maintain soft and healthy skin with a clear, glowing complexion.

Having healthy, flawless skin, however, does not mean spending a fortune on expensive beauty products. To have a beautiful face that stands out, follow these tried-and-tested natural skin care tips:

1. Drink more water.

Ensuring that you are always properly hydrated is one of the simplest yet most effective techniques in maintaining a youthful, radiant, and beautiful complexion.

Drinking eight or up to 10 glasses of water every day will help improve the texture and complexion of your skin. It will also keep wrinkles at bay and prevent dryness since you will be fully hydrated inside and out.

To reach your required water intake throughout the day, always bring a large bottle of water with you. Consider adding cucumbers, a squeeze of lemon, or a sprig of mint to your water so that you will have a more refreshing, flavorful natural beverage that you will always want to drink.

2. Break a sweat regularly.

Sweating daily by working out will give your body several benefits.

For one, breaking a sweat every day will help you shed pounds and maintain a healthy weight. Moreover, after healthy perspiration, you will feel a glow that is great for your skin. This is the result of more blood and nutrients flowing to the surface of your epidermis. This, in turn, stimulates and keeps your complexion young and radiant.

Additionally, whenever you sweat, you flush out toxins and open up pores, which are all excellent for your skin.

If you don’t feel like working out, head to a spa and book a sauna bath instead. It is an excellent way to sweat and relax at the same time, which is fantastic for rewarding yourself and practicing self-compassion.

3. Reduce your sugar intake.

Studies show that sugar can cause breakouts. This unhealthy ingredient speeds up aging as well since it encourages the premature appearance of wrinkles and fine lines through the process called glycation.

Under glycation, the sugar you consumed will enter your bloodstream and form molecules that destroy collagen and elastin. This process will then cause your skin to lose elasticity and make it more prone to wrinkles and lines.

By avoiding sweets or reducing your intake, you can prevent the signs of premature aging on your skin. You will then maintain a youthful, lovely face — one that will easily impress anyone who sees you.

4. Remove makeup properly before bedtime.

To maintain healthy, radiant skin, never go to bed with your makeup on. If you do, the harmful substances will clog your pores and prevent the skin from breathing. These two do nothing good for your skin.

If you want to be sure you have completely removed all the makeup from your face, double cleanse. This means using milk, foam, or gel cleanser with natural ingredients to remove the remaining bacteria, dirt, or debris in your pores.

By taking the time to thoroughly remove makeup from your face before sleeping, you will ensure you have great, healthy skin all the time.

5. Exfoliate and moisturize naturally.

Finally, removing dead epidermis is essential to maintaining smooth, bright skin. To do this effectively at home, try dry brushing.

Use a natural bristle brush to remove the dry or dead epidermis. Afterward, take a shower and get rid of any excess dry skin by exfoliating with a homemade natural scrub such as green tea or sugar and salt body scrub.

After exfoliating, make sure you use a moisturizer. Again, use something natural such as avocado, coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe.

By doing these at least twice weekly, you will get soft, radiant skin. However, if you have sensitive skin, do this only once a week.

To get far in the competitive world of modeling, always take care of your two most valuable assets: your face and skin. You can do this by following the tips above.

Makeup Trends For A/W 19/20

Makeup Trends For A/W 19/20

Spring and summer are full of glitters and brights. The glossy lip, highlighter that speaks to you on a deep soul level, beach wave hair… It’s relaxing, colorful, and glowing.

But then when autumn and winter hit, the sky is a little let bright, the air isn’t as warm, and the trends begin to change. Skincare routines change too. The moisturizer you use needs to be a little thicker because the cold can chap your lips and skin pretty quickly. Those once loose and lovely beach waves get blown around and get frustrating.

But! Never fear, because your A/W trends list is here.

Barely-There

There is always space for the ‘no makeup, makeup look.’ And thanks to all of the beautiful youtube influencers, we have the perfect guides on how to achieve it. Shout out to Tati Westbrook for her gorgeous tutorial.

This is a runway classic that comes back year after year.

The makeup is lightly glowing, soft and the pops of spring neon yellow are replaced with soft smoked out nudes. It is the perfect time to pick up a new eyeshadow palette too. Well-nourished lips look plumper and healthy, and you can achieve it with a simple balm and a small blob of gloss in the middle of the bottom lip.

Swapping black mascara for a brown one keeps the look soft and natural too.

Glitter

Twice a year it (or more if you love it) glitter reigns queen. Festival season, where more is more and the festive season – where there is no such thing as too sparkly.

Keeping the rest of the face minimal, eyes were beaming on the runway. There is nothing subtle about glitter coated eyelids, so you can go all out when the mood takes you. OR, you can skip the eyes and try a glitter lip.

Halpern, Dries Van Noten and Rodarte took the glitter bold and beautiful.

The good news is you can find planet friendly glitter, and eye-safe glitter – so if you’ve been skipping the pretty plastic flakes for the sake of the planet – then fear not, you’re covered.

Bolds

But very subdued. Which seems like it just isn’t going to make sense, but Guy Laroche put paid to that. Replacing a black winged liner with a bright red. Again, the rest of the face was soft and dewy, making the bold swipe of color the star of the show.

If you already have a feel for the color you’d like to try then grab a colored eyeliner and get some practice in. If the only color you have on your face is your eyeliner, those wings need to be razor sharp.

If a winged liner is not your thing, then a light dusting of green or deep blue slightly blended out from the corner of the eye is rather eye-catching.

Gold

Ah, the true old faithful of A/W – any year, ever.

You can opt for a more metallic eye, with foils and creams or a softer look with gold used with browns and taupes. Just remember if you’re using creams and foils without a good primer, they can settle in the lines of your eyelids and age your eyes.

For a dramatic look, get the eyeliner out and smoke out that perfect line.

Big Lashes

Some of us love them, others – not so much. But if you spend some time working on your application now, you might just find come winter you are an eyelash master.

If falsies are too much faff, then pick up a volumizing mascara, and if you want to go even bigger – something with fiber.

If you remember the royal blue mascara from the ’90s, then you might love the next trend in lashes. Hot pink, white and blacks with a purple or blue hue. The rest of the face remaining subtly made up.

Lips

This probably doesn’t even need to be mentioned anymore but berries, reds and ultra glossy glosses and the go-tos.

However, the K-beauty smudged lips are pretty gorgeous. If you aren’t one for those perfectly lined lips, then the soft bloom of color that the smudged lip gives you is perfect. The hap-hazard style isn’t for everyone, as it can come off as unfinished rather than youthful.

Mattes be gone! A/W will see the rise of the gloss. Leaving lips looking moisturized, soft and hydrated rather than the dry matte look from the previous months.

So there you have it, the significant makeup trends for your autumn/winter of 2019 and early 2020. A nude base with some gorgeous twists.

Swap Your Way to Radiant Skin

Swap Your Way to Radiant Skin

Many of us strive for perfectly clear, radiantly glowing skin, but lots of us fall far short of the mark despite how many expensive skincare products we use. That’s because, although the right products can certainly help to improve your skin, it is often our lifestyles, and particularly what we eat, that determines how good or bad our skin looks from day to day.

The good news is, it’s possible to make a number of simple swaps to your life to achieve the radiant skin you’ve always wanted…

Swap Processed Foods for Whole Foods

I think we all know that highly processed foods are not the best for our health, especially eaten regularly in large quantities, but did you know that they’re really bad for your skin too? Most processed meals and snacks have a high-glycemic index, and this spikes the blood sugar, causing insulin to be released. When insulin reaches the bloodstream, it can get in the way of collagen production, and since collagen is what keeps our skin looking full, soft and supple, that can lead to dull, older looking skin.

Switching to a whole food diet that is rich in protein, slow-release carbs and vitamin-rich vegetables will ensure that you produce plenty of collagen and all of the nutrients you need to build protein, repair skin damage and get a healthy glow.

Swap Smoking for Vaping

Smoking is bad for your health, period. As well as causing cancer and heart disease, amongst other things, it can also make your skin look bad because those toxins that are released in the smoke are pretty harmful. If you smoke regularly, chances are you will age prematurely.

Luckily, companies like Blazed Vapes now offer an alternative in the form of electronic cigarettes, which don’t contain any of the nasties that threaten your health and your skin. Swap your usual pack of cigarettes for a vape pen and you should start to notice the difference pretty quick.

Swap Sugary Snacks for Fruit

Sadly, sugar is really bad for your skin. It can interrupt the production of collagen and elastin, which keep the skin supple. It can also give you a dull, dry complexion due to the fact it can spike blood sugar and cause inflammation.

If you really must have something naughty and sweet, then choosing snacks that have been sweetened with sugar alternatives like Stevia is a good choice. However, you’d be far better off eating a piece of fruit instead. Fruit does contain sugar, but it contains fiber and other vitamins and nutrients, which offset it’s negative effects too. Fruits also contain antioxidants, which improves the appearance, Vitamin C which is able to neutralise free radicals and keep skin looking youthful and even flavanols that plump the skin and help to minimise damage caused by sun exposure.

Swap Sun for Shade

It’s pretty obvious, but spending less time in the harsh light of the sun and more time in the shade is a great way to minimise skin damage and maintain fresh, radiant skin. Of course, some sun is good for us, so you shouldn’t dodge it completely, but when it’s really hot, hit the shade, and always wear sunscreen.

What’s Stopping You From Wearing Shorts This Summer?

What’s Stopping You From Wearing Shorts This Summer?

Winter has been long and unforgiving this year and, if you’re anything like most, you’re pleased to see that March is at least bringing some sunny days along with it right now. After what seems like forever, you can finally put those chunky jumpers away and start looking towards the season of salads and shorts. And, it couldn’t come soon enough.

The only trouble is that shorts are looking a little daunting now you’ve been able to cover your legs all winter long. The idea of bearing it all is pretty petrifying right now. By the end of last summer, you were wearing shorts loud and proud. Now, though, you’ve lost your nerve. And the chances are there are reasons why.

Shorts are just one of those items which can be tough to pull off. At the very least, you have to be confident in your body to make these work. While they can look fantastic when worn right, they can also become a fashion disaster. That’s especially the case if you make one of many short faux pas when wearing them.

But, what exactly are these faux pas, and are they behind your short-based fear this year?

Thunder thighs

After all those winter carbs, it’s possible that your thighs aren’t exactly streamlined right now. Who can blame you? Anything to get through the colder months. The trouble is that thunder thighs and shorts don’t go hand in hand. Before you know, you’ll be sweating it out in jeans through the warmest weather. Don’t let it happen. Instead, turn your attention to thigh fat now to ensure you slim down before summer hits. Something simple like bike riding or squats can make a difference here. Pair these with a more summer-based diet, and you could be bossing shorts before you know.

Trashy tattoos

Some short-based worries are a little trickier to address. Take, for instance, people who have unflattering tattoos on their legs or ankles. It may be that you got a terrible tattoo when you were young, or that you thought it’d be romantic to get a partner’s name. For whatever reason, you can’t stand showing that mark to the world. Perhaps you broke up with your partner during winter or grew up a bit. Either way, embarrassed doesn’t even begin to cover your feelings about it now. Admittedly, the cure for this isn’t as easy as exercising, but there are ways to work around this for short success. First, ask questions like ‘how does laser removal work?’ and ‘how much will it cost me?’. Once you know these basics, you can book up for a removal procedure well before the hottest weather hits. As simple as that, you’ll be able to reach for shorts without thought.

Shaving rashes

Shaving rashes are another common reason for worry when wearing shorts. No one wants to leave their chicken legs on display, after all. The trouble is that, if you aren’t careful, it’s all too easy to fall foul to this issue. This is especially the case if you’ve gotten lax with shaving during the winter. Suddenly shaving off that long hair could lead to all manner of problems. At least, it can if you don’t take care. As a general rule, though, there are things you can do to avoid this issue. Using high-end sharp razors can be a huge help in itself here. You should also aim to exfoliate and moisturize after every shaving session. And, if you haven’t done so in a while, it’s worth starting shaving now. That way, you can address any issues which arise in the initial aftermath of your first shave of the year.

What about height?

Sometimes, short aversions come about due to little more than height issues. People who are either tall or short may feel self-conscious with this choice as it can highlight your legs, and thus your height. Of course, there isn’t much you can do to address your height on the whole. What you can do, though, is consider different types of shorts. For taller people, extended options like Bermuda shorts could be the thing to even your legs out a little. For shorter ladies, low-rise shorts are sure to serve better. They can really lengthen the appearance of your legs.

If you’ve been shuddering at the idea of wearing shorts this year, it’s past time you addressed these issues. With a bit of luck, you’ll be wearing a pair loud and proud by the time the sun starts shining.
