Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

There’s no shame in being insecure about something. In many ways, if you’re not insecure about anything, then you’re probably not human! It’s a natural way of life, we all have elements of ourselves that we don’t like. What’s more, it can take a lot to put these negative thoughts out of our mind and get over our insecurities for good. As such, every day is spent looking in the mirror and focusing on the little things that we don’t like, rather than the things we do like.

We all have different insecurities, but some are more common than others. Today, I’m going to look at the most prevalent beauty insecurities in modern women, and provide a bit of advice to help you get over them for good. My main hope is that this little guide can help all of you to start loving yourselves more!

My Face Is Full Of Spots

So many women are insecure about their appearance because they have breakouts on their face. They think this makes them look super ugly, and they’ll try and cover the spots up as well as possible. Often, this means going overboard with foundation, which just fuels the spots and makes the breakout even worse.

When you have constant issues with spots, it makes you so insecure that you’ll avoid leaving the house unless it’s essential. The thing is, there are so many solutions to this problem, and you’re probably going about it the wrong way. Instead of trying to cover your spots up with loads of makeup, work on addressing the cause of them. Is it because your skin is too greasy or oily? If so, work on cleansing your pores and taking better care of your face. Also, never sleep with makeup on and always wash your face before bed! Then, apply a thin layer of makeup, and only when necessary. If you’re not going anywhere, don’t bother with makeup around the house! If all else fails, see a doctor and they can prescribe acne medication to help you out.

My Boobs Are Too Small

When it comes to insecurities on the body, your breasts are usually at the top of the list. So many girls fear that they’re unattractive because they don’t have big boobs. Once more, the media has a lot to answer for this, as we’ve constantly seen attractive women with big breasts as leading roles in films, on magazine covers, and getting most of the limelight. Needless to say, you can feel very insecure when you don’t have big breasts, and this stops you from wearing things you might like the look of – such as crop tops, bikinis, low-cut dresses, and so on.

The good news is there are both temporary and permanent solutions to this insecurity. If you’re super self-conscious about your breast size and would kill to make them bigger, then why don’t you? Breast augmentation is common, and you can subtly enhance the look of your breasts if you want. It’s not for everyone, and I strongly suggest you see surgery details before you go through with this. This is the permanent solution, and the temporary ones can help give your boobs the appearance of being bigger, without actually changing their size. Things like push-up bras or padding can help make your boobs look bigger and fuller. You’ll be very surprised at how much of a difference a good push up bra makes to your breasts, and this can be all you need for a little confidence boost.

My Legs Are Too Chunky

Another body insecurity most women have is with their legs. A lot of girls see their thighs as being too chunky and wobbly. They feel like they jiggle when you walk, and it can make you so insecure. Especially around the spring/summer seasons where it gets hot, and loads of people wear shorts and skirts. You feel very insecure because you see everyone’s nice legs, and you think you’re being judged for being the only person still wearing jeans.

The reality is, you can easily take care of this insecurity if you’re willing to put in the hard work. All you have to do is start exercising and eating right. This will help you lose body fat, which slims down your thighs. They’ll lose that ‘chunkiness’ you don’t like, and you can also tone them up by doing squats and leg workouts. In fact, I’ll leave a video down below this paragraph of a sample leg workout to help you add muscle tone and firmness. In a matter of weeks, you can transform the way your legs look and feel a lot more secure about them.

My Eyebrows Are Too Light

Finally, we end things off with another insecurity that’s found on your face. Having light eyebrows has become a really big issue in modern times. There seems to be a big beauty trend at the moment where good eyebrows are a must. Everyone wants nice dark brows that are shaped well and finely trimmed. If yours are too light, then it looks like you have none at all, which causes major insecurities.

Again, there are both permanent and temporary solutions here. The temporary one is simply drawing on your eyebrows whenever you want to go out. Once more, I’ll link a video below this paragraph that gives a few tips on how to do this and make your brows look natural. When done correctly, you’ll see the effect looks so real, and no one will guess your eyebrows are really very light. The permanent solution is to get something known as an eyebrow tattoo. Essentially, you get eyebrows tattooed on you, so they always look a lot darker. It’s not for everyone and can be quite expensive. But, if you’re really insecure and can’t bear to even walk around the house with your natural brows, then this may be your best option.

As I said earlier, I really want this guide to help everyone with these insecurities. First and foremost; don’t be ashamed if you’re insecure. Secondly; don’t be ashamed about wanting to change things about yourself. A lot of people say you should just grow to love your insecurities, but it’s not as easy as that. Some people get really badly affected by the things mentioned on this list, so doing things to change the way you look can help you love yourself for once!

Natural Ways To Care For Sensitive Skin

Natural Ways To Care For Sensitive Skin

Unfortunately, some people have much more sensitive skin than others. It would be nice if we could subject our outer layers to the same kind of abuse as some without the consequences, but instead, you might end up with rashes, irritation, inflammation, and exacerbating issues like eczema. When treating sensitive skin, you have to be careful to what you put on it, as well. Here are a few changes you can make to start treating your skin a little kindlier and hopefully help it start behaving, too.

Credit

Clean carefully

Sensitive skin doesn’t react only to how you treat it, but the environment you surround it in, as well. For a lot of people, most of their irritation may actually come from their home. The dust and debris that gathers are an allergen themselves and can certainly irritate the skin. But the methods by which we clean them can be just as harmful. Bleaches and many household cleaning products contain chemicals like ammonia and sodium lauryl sulphate. These might not be too harmful for the average person. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, however, you might have a much better time turning to green cleaning products. Lemon juice or vinegar can be mixed into water to create a surface cleaning solution, for instance, while baking soda and warm water can help you clean stains out from fabrics.

Treat thoughtfully

If you have a skin condition such as chronic inflammation, acne, or eczema, you want to make sure you’re taking some kind of effort to treat it. However, you may be aware that certain medications or creams that contain ingredients like steroids can end up causing your skin to thin, making it even more sensitive and prone to irritation. Dermveda.com shows some examples of alternative treatments that can be used to treat eczema, including using natural oils like coconut oil, Shea butter, or other medications like calcineurin inhibitors. When you talk to your doctor about treatments for your skin, don’t forget to bring up your ongoing skin sensitivity and see if there aren’t other medications or home treatments they might be able to suggest.

Beautify benignly

We all want to look our best, sensitive skin or no. If you’re like a lot of women, you have not just your makeup but your morning and nighttime skin care routines. But little do most know that the ingredients in so-called skin care isn’t always the healthiest. Annmariegianni.com sums up the ingredients you should start looking out for and the effects they can have that do the opposite of what those products are supposed to help with. Fragrances are one of the most notorious, using that label to cover all kinds of ingredients that can dry, age, and irritate your skin even further. Get into the habit of reading the labels for those red flag ingredients before buying skin care products.

Sensitive skin isn’t always the easiest to handle and if you start suffering serious problems with it, it’s time to visit your dermatologist. For everyday care, however, the tips above can help you keep the peace and avoid those unsightly breakouts.

Warning! Your Skin Products Are Actually Damaging Your Skin

Warning! Your Skin Products Are Actually Damaging Your Skin

What’s the sole reason we buy skin products? To try and improve any imperfections in our skin. We buy moisturizers to combat dry skin, face wash to deal with oily skin, and exfoliation products to help attack acne. It’s fair to say we put a lot of faith in these products, assuming that they’re good for us and will be of assistance.

But, did you know that many of your skin products are actually harming your skin? It sounds bizarre, but it’s very much the truth. Many factors come into play here, mainly in the form of bad chemicals. Naturally, you’re probably a bit afraid that you’re damaging your skin now. Thankfully, there are a few telltale signs that your products are doing more harm than good.

Image from pxhere

You End Up With Dry Skin

People with excessively oily and greasy skin will often look for products that take care of this problem. They claim to help get rid of your issue, leaving you with skin that’s less greasy and more ‘normal’. However, a lot of these products – along with other general face washes and creams – could lead to dry skin. If this happens, then it’s a bad sign, and you should stop using them immediately. Any product that solves one problem, but causes another, isn’t really doing you any good. It’s likely you end up buying another product (usually from the same brand, what a coincidence…) to combat the dry skin issue. This will probably cause another problem, meaning you look for another product, and so on.

Your Skin Burns Afterwards

Needless to say, if your skin is burning after you’ve used something, then it’s not a great sign. This is most likely because the product includes chemicals that react negatively to your skin. It makes sense to check the ingredients on the back of each product, and research any that seem a bit strange or have long, complex, chemical names. Alternatively, you could go for chemical free skincare to eradicate this issue from occurring. If you find this issue happens to you a lot, then it’s best to stop using the product that’s causing the irritation. It might not hurt that much, and the burning could only last a second or two, but it’s not normal and doesn’t do any good.

Your Skin Itches And You Get A Rash

Again, this is a clear sign that something is seriously wrong with the skincare products in your bathroom. I would say itchy skin and rashes are probably the most common issue people face. Furthermore, you often don’t realize your skincare products were the problem because you assume the rash came from something else. To figure this out, stop using your products for a few days and see if the rash and itching clear up. If they do, then you know it was the culprit!

Don’t spend money on beauty products that are causing you more harm than good. If you notice any of these signs, then there’s clearly something in your skincare products that don’t react well with your skin. Stop using them, look for better alternatives, and experience healthy skin for real.

How to Pick the Best Foundation and Concealer for Your Skin

How to Pick the Best Foundation and Concealer for Your Skin

With such a diverse range of skin tones, choosing the perfect foundation and concealer can be a true nightmare. Furthermore, if you’re dealing with acne-prone skin, or have to battle dark circles on a daily basis, you’ll need to learn a bit about colour correction before you can get that flawless complexion. From liquid, through creamy and all the way to stick concealers and foundations, it’s essential you find the right shade that will perfectly blend with your skin.

Foundation fundamentals

Picking out the foundation that will flawlessly blend with your skin is paramount, because your entire makeup look will depend on it. They call it foundation for a reason ‒ it’s the base upon which you build all the other layers of makeup products, creating something beautiful, so it absolutely has to match your skin perfectly. The best way to find the right shade is to test it on your jawline, or just underneath it on your neck. The foundation that becomes invisible once you apply it and rub it into your skin, is the one you should go for.

When it comes to the type of foundation, your choice should depend on the type of your skin. Liquid foundations will work with any type of skin. However, foundations that are thicker in consistency are much more suited for dry skin, than for the one prone to breakouts. Stick and creamy foundations are not very good for dry skin types, but they will do wonders for normal or combination skin. Powder foundations and liquid ones with matte finish are the best choices for oily skin.

Concealer tips and tricks

When you need to mask all the imperfections on your face, that’s where concealers come in. Whether you need to hide a blemish, conceal dark circles, or cover up your tattoo for some special occasion, concealers will do it all. Anytime you need to camouflage a certain colour, you should reach for either orange, green, red or yellow concealer. Colour correction means cancelling blue tones with orange correctors, red with green, and purple with yellow. So, if you’re facing dark circles around your eyes, make sure you know exactly what colour they are. The shade can vary from grey to purple, and the wrong corrector shade will only make things worse. Always colour correct before applying a foundation, so that you can touch up all darker areas later with the best full-coverage concealer that will also perfectly highlight certain parts of your face.

Picking out the right concealer shade is also very important, because a shade that’s too light can make you look like a raccoon, while a shade that’s too similar to your foundation won’t do much for your look. Therefore, compare the shade of your foundation with the one of a concealer, and choose one that’s  only a shade or two lighter than your foundation. However, if the green corrector for red blemishes isn’t enough to cover up the spot, either use a foundation or a concealer that matches the foundation shade, so you’ll avoid shade mismatching on that particular spot. Light concealers are great for highlighting the area under your eyebrows, as well as for contouring if you use them with a concealer that’s a bit darker. Sometimes, it’s much more affordable than splurging on contouring palettes. Furthermore, concealers can make you fix plenty of makeup mistakes. If your winged eyeliner isn’t as perfect as you wanted it to be, use an angled brush, dab a bit of concealer and erase a part of that thick line, and voilà, you’ll have the perfect flick.

Choosing the perfect foundation and concealer shade isn’t always easy, but with the previously mentioned tips, you won’t have such a difficult time choosing. Just make sure you know which colours to use for colour correction, don’t use a concealer that’s too light or too dark for fixing imperfections, and your makeup will always be on point.

Feminine Issues Of A Modern Kind

Feminine Issues Of A Modern Kind

Be honest, women; we struggle for our beauty. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. It isn’t easy to be preened and perfect. In fact, a lot of hard work often goes into the effort. And, the battle never ends. The fight only intensifies as the signs of age threaten to come to the fore.

But, many of us pay the price. After years of rigorous routines, it isn’t unusual for them to start taking their toll on our bodies. And, when they do, it can become harder and harder to achieve the image we want. It’s a vicious cycle. And, to help you get off the ride, we’re going to look at a few of the main issues, and how you can get around them.

How is your hair?

Our hair is one of the first things to suffer, and it’s no surprise. While dying hair was once the reserve of those fighting the greys, most of us now turn to this past-time for beauty purposes. It’s just stylish to opt for unnatural colors, such as red and purple. And, as if exposing our hair to toxic chemicals wasn’t enough, we then insist on burning them into place each day. In short; we don’t treat our hair kindly. The good news is, there are easy ways to fix this. The best thing about hair is that it grows all the time. As such, no damage should be permanent. Give your hair time to heal and let your natural color grow out, or dye less often. Think, too, about using something like a keratin shampoo. These work to repair the hair, and also help it appear straight. You can read more about the best keratin options here. In short, though; the right choice could potentially save you having to straighten at all.

Not so much fun in the sun

Of course, the damage doesn’t end there. Many of us also fall foul to the idea that tanned skin is healthy skin. How many times in your lifetime have you described a tan as a ‘healthy glow’? Well, it’s time to think again. In reality, a tan is quite the opposite to healthy. Effectively, it means you’ve cooked your skin. Take a moment to think about that. It isn’t good! Imagine the damage that can do in the long-term. Most of us already know that time spent in the sun can drastically age our skin. What less of us realize is how severe that damage can be.

To ensure fun in the sun doesn’t prematurely age your skin, it’s important to take action. For one, reduce your time spent ‘tanning’ as much as you can bear. If you can go without it altogether, your skin will thank you for it. Instead, opt for some of the many tanning creams on the market which achieve the image without the risk. Think, too, about addressing the damage you’ve already done with your skin care. Regular use of moisturizing products can make a huge difference.

Let’s talk organic skin care: things you should know

By Guest Blogger, Cate P.

Let’s talk organic skin care: things you should know

Just because something says natural doesn’t necessarily mean it’s really organic or good for your skin. Maybe you have noticed that after switching from one “natural” product to another there can be a lot of difference on the look of your skin. After months or even years of being unsure what the sources of your skin imperfections are, it is about time to alter your skin care and start using organic instead. And now, you probably think what to do first. Well, go through these tips and tricks that will help you with taking that first crucial step.

Find out what is your skin type

It is very important to know your skin type before choosing your skin care. Don’t just buy what you find visually appealing, or what you think smells good because it may damage your skin and leave you with consequences that will show later on. It is normal for your skin to get thinner as years go by, with tendency to become wrinkled, but why not slow the process?

With the right preparation, you can achieve bloomy looking skin that glows and postpone the aging process. Read the labels; find organic products that are made for your exact skin type to keep it elastic, healthy and nourished. It is time to change the way you took care of your face and body, to get rid of all the bad habits and start treating your skin the right way.

Try DIY

There are tons of DIY skin care alternatives that you can apply to your face and body to get the results you want. There are recipes you can make with various fruits and vegetables that can be helpful not only for hydrating but for exfoliating too. Exfoliation is very important because that way you remove dead skin cells and as a result, get smoother skin while keeping it fresh and clean. Applying homemade apricot face scrub is the best way to exfoliate your skin because of the abrasive texture provided by the fruit itself. Try using high-quality honey to make face mask since honey is natural antibacterial and it also hydrates and calms the skin.

Read everything

Be sure that you have read everything written on a cosmetic product before purchasing it. Educate yourself about the impact different chemicals have on your skin, such as parabens or phthalates. Many researches show that using products consisting aluminum can severely damage your health so think about the consequences. Check the list of ingredients on the products you are using now and replace them with organic chemical-free cosmetics to prevent skin irritation or allergic reaction. Think in advance to help your skin retain its elasticity and freshness. So be smart, choose your organic skincare products wisely and start making changes. Help your skin look beautiful, be smooth and stay healthy.

Avoid strong perfumed products

Avoid purchasing perfumed cosmetics since it is more likely to be filled with harmful chemicals. It can irritate your skin or make it look unappealing. Natural organic skin care usually have mild smell, mostly you can recognize it as scent of natural ingredients. If you really need your cosmetic to be fragranced, try combining it with essential oils for the extra touch of aroma. For example, using tea tree oil not only will make your skin smell good but also make it healthy and reduce the amount of acne. Not to mention you can use it on your hair as well to make it stronger and give it shiny look.

Now that you know what, why and how to do it, there are no more excuses. Think about the results and the impact switching to organic cosmetics will have on your skin, and how good will it make you feel. As we all know – if your skin is clean and you truly feel beautiful you will indeed be in a good mood, ready to seize the day!

8 Anti-Aging Tips for Your Skin

By Guest Blogger, Luke D.

8 Anti-Aging Tips for Your Skin

All women want their skin to be healthy, glowing and youthful, so it’s no wonder that we’ll try anything to retain that ageless look. While certain skin changes are inevitable, without proper scare, you’ll expose your skin to the risk of premature aging. Therefore, it’s essential that you develop a regular routine that will help you have soft skin, pore-free complexion and a youthful look.

Mind your diet

Your diet can greatly affect the look of your skin, so it’s of the utmost importance that you eat foods that will help you nourish your skin. Although you’ve probably heard the expression “you are what you eat” so many times before, keep repeating it to yourself in order to leave all those harmful substances behind. Processed sugar is definitely one of the ingredients that shouldn’t be a part of your diet. Why? White sugar weakens the collagen in your skin, speeding up the aging process and causing premature sagging and wrinkles. Another substance you should avoid consuming is alcohol because it can dehydrate your skin. Instead, your diet should contain a lot of protein, vitamin C, foods rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acid, all of which can help your skin retain a youthful look.

Hydrate your skin

Dehydration can lead to a pale, paper-like complexion and sagging skin, so keeping your skin hydrated is essential for preventing premature aging. This entails drinking plenty of water (around eight glasses per day), as well as eating foods rich in water. Since your skin tends to lose moisture during night, you should eat plenty of watery foods before going to bed – drinking water before bedtime will keep you up all night. In addition, make sure that skincare products you use have hydrating formulas.

Have a professional facial treatment

Every once in a while, you should schedule a professional facial treatment in a trustworthy spa and wellness centre. There’s plenty of different treatments, each one offering certain benefits. For example, an endermolift facial treatment will help you reduce your fine lines and wrinkles, restore your skin vitality and firmness and reactivate the production of collagen in your. Occasional facial treatments will help your skin attain a natural tone and a glowing complexion.

Wear sun protection

Exposure to the sun’s harmful effects can cause serious skin damage, as well as premature aging, age spots and discoloration. To keep your skin supple and youthful, make sure to use sunscreen regularly with at least 30 SPF (sun protection factor). When choosing a sunscreen, you should opt for one that has moisturising properties and antioxidants and doesn’t contain alcohol. Additionally, don’t limit your use of sunscreen only to the occasions when you’re going to the beach or know that you’ll be heavily exposed to sunlight. You’re exposed to UV radiation on a daily basis, so you should wear appropriate protection at all times.

Keep it simple, but effective

In the attempt to keep their skin healthy and young-looking, many women start using dozens of skin products. However, this can actually irritate your skin and cause even more serious issues, including clogged pores, breakouts and redness. Instead, you should stick to a minimalist skincare routine that entails using a limited number of products. Keep in mind that it’s better to invest more in one or two products than buying a lot of cheap ones.

Don’t forget to exfoliate

Exfoliation is a necessary part of every skincare routine that will help your skin look brighter and smoother. Our skin sheds dead cells on a daily basis, but this process tends to slow down over time, leaving you with a dull complexion. Therefore, it’s essential that you help your skin lose those dead cells by exfoliating regularly. However, this step shouldn’t be applied daily, but only up to three times a week.

Go to a hammam

Another secret to preventing premature aging is simply relaxing and a hammam is the perfect place for that. By treating yourself to a hammam therapy, not only will you be able to unwind, but you’ll also establish a connection between your body and mind, detoxify your body from harmful substances, cleanse, hydrate and exfoliate your skin and get in touch with your inner self.

Cream up

When buying skin creams, make sure to read the labels and pick those that are rich in vitamins, antioxidants and hydrating properties. Furthermore, you should choose those that are suitable for your skin type – if you have sensitive skin, gentle creams with soothing properties are your safest option. In addition, you should buy them from reliable and trustworthy labels, such as the Neostrata skincare products, to ensure your skin’s health. Since skin creams are essential for preventing premature aging, you should invest in high-quality ones.

To give your skin a glowing, natural and youthful look, you should develop a regular skincare routine, pick high-quality products, undergo occasional facial and hammam treatments and protect it from UV radiation.

6 Skincare Myths You Probably Believe

6 Skincare Myths You Probably Believe

When you’re getting skin care advice left right and center, how do you know what to believe? It seems like everybody has their own idea about what makes a great skin routine and there are so many different skin products on the market, it’s hard to know where to start. Amongst all of that conflicting information, you’re bound to get some bad advice floating about. When that bad advice gets online and spreads around it can quickly become a myth.

The problem with these skin care myths is that they’re actually doing you a lot of harm and there are so many people out there that are following these myths, thinking that they’re protecting their skin when they’re actually doing the complete opposite. To help you avoid ruining your skin routine, make sure you don’t listen to any of these skin care myths.

Tanning Booths And UVB Rays

When research into tanning booths found that the UV rays were harmful to the skin and increased your risk of getting cancer, it looked like they might fall out of fashion completely. But the companies that make tanning booths came up with a solution, or so they said. They claimed that the harmful bit was the UVB rays or ‘sunburn’ rays as they called them. They claimed by filtering them out, they’d made the tanning beds completely safe again. It would be great if that were true, but it’s nonsense. There are still UVA rays that aren’t being filtered out and they penetrate the skin and increase your risk of cancer still. So why not just filter out the UVA rays? That doesn’t leave much left and you wouldn’t get a tan if you did. To cut a long story short, there is no safe way to use a tanning bed at the moment, regardless of what you might have heard.

Blackheads

Everybody gets blackheads, that’s not the myth. But when you think you see blackheads it could actually be something different. On your nose, you get something called sebaceous filaments. They’re hair like structures that cause a build up of oils in your pores. They look very similar to blackheads but the color is usually a lot paler. Sebaceous filaments exist for a reason; to moisturize your skin. If you’re wondering how to get rid of sebaceous filaments, you need to be careful. They are actually a natural part of the skin and you don’t want to get rid of them completely. Exfoliating regularly will help to stop build up of oils.

The problem is, most people mistake them for blackheads and start using treatments to get rid of them. It becomes a vicious cycle because you cause yourself more skin problems by getting rid of them. You should use treatments sparingly to make sure that you’re not drying out your skin.

Popping Pimples

Whenever you get a spot or a pimple, the natural reaction is to pop it. That’s what everybody does because you need to get the pus out of the pimple to make it heal, or so the myth goes. In reality, popping the spot does way more harm than good. Some of the pus is going to come out when you pop it, but the majority actually goes in deeper. That can lead to scarring and most of the time, you’ll get another spot pop up nearby in just a few days. While it might not look great, it’s better to leave the spot to dry out naturally instead of picking away at it. But if you’re absolutely set on getting rid of it, don’t just burst it. You can buy a specific product called a comedone extractor that does it without pushing any of the pus further in.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is one of those buzzwords that’s way fancier than it sounds. All it really boils down to is gently scrubbing the top layer of your skin off. The thinking behind it is that you clear off all of that dead skin on the top layer, leaving the healthy new skin underneath. The reality is actually quite different. When you scrub too hard, you take off a lot of the protective oils on your skin, increasing the chance of it drying out. You’re far more likely to suffer with acne if you’ve taken away all of the protection on your skin as well. When you’re washing your face, you should be gentle with your skin so you aren’t taking whole layers off it, and normal soap is just fine.

Expensive Products

The price variations in skin products are pretty massive. You can get some cheap non-branded stuff for just a few dollars, but the most expensive stuff can exceed a hundred dollars for a small tube. Surely that expensive stuff must contain a load of crazy ingredients that work wonders on your skin? Otherwise, they wouldn’t sell it for so much, surely? Actually, it’s all clever marketing. The ingredients in most anti aging and other skin products are basically the same, whether you buy the cheap brands or the ridiculously expensive ones. That’s not to say the expensive ones don’t work well, but you can usually get the exact same thing for a fraction of the price.

Lasers

Laser skin treatments are the latest thing in skin care. They’re marketed as a miracle tool that can make you look years younger in just a few treatments. Lasers are easy to market in this way because most people don’t know much about them and they seem futuristic. Unfortunately, they aren’t quite as amazing as everybody thinks they are. The technology is improving and the results from some laser treatments are good, but you need to manage your expectations about what they can do for you. They can help with sun spots and wrinkles but they aren’t going to undo years of damage. Too many people spend years doing damage to their skin and then expect laser treatments to be a quick fix but that’s not the case at all.

These myths are doing some serious damage to your skin so the sooner you stop believing them, the sooner you’ll get the results that you’re after.
