Natural Ways To Care For Sensitive Skin

Natural Ways To Care For Sensitive Skin

Unfortunately, some people have much more sensitive skin than others. It would be nice if we could subject our outer layers to the same kind of abuse as some without the consequences, but instead, you might end up with rashes, irritation, inflammation, and exacerbating issues like eczema. When treating sensitive skin, you have to be careful to what you put on it, as well. Here are a few changes you can make to start treating your skin a little kindlier and hopefully help it start behaving, too.

Clean carefully

Sensitive skin doesn’t react only to how you treat it, but the environment you surround it in, as well. For a lot of people, most of their irritation may actually come from their home. The dust and debris that gathers are an allergen themselves and can certainly irritate the skin. But the methods by which we clean them can be just as harmful. Bleaches and many household cleaning products contain chemicals like ammonia and sodium lauryl sulphate. These might not be too harmful for the average person. If you have allergies or sensitive skin, however, you might have a much better time turning to green cleaning products. Lemon juice or vinegar can be mixed into water to create a surface cleaning solution, for instance, while baking soda and warm water can help you clean stains out from fabrics.

Treat thoughtfully

If you have a skin condition such as chronic inflammation, acne, or eczema, you want to make sure you’re taking some kind of effort to treat it. However, you may be aware that certain medications or creams that contain ingredients like steroids can end up causing your skin to thin, making it even more sensitive and prone to irritation. Dermveda.com shows some examples of alternative treatments that can be used to treat eczema, including using natural oils like coconut oil, Shea butter, or other medications like calcineurin inhibitors. When you talk to your doctor about treatments for your skin, don’t forget to bring up your ongoing skin sensitivity and see if there aren’t other medications or home treatments they might be able to suggest.

Beautify benignly

We all want to look our best, sensitive skin or no. If you’re like a lot of women, you have not just your makeup but your morning and nighttime skin care routines. But little do most know that the ingredients in so-called skin care isn’t always the healthiest. Annmariegianni.com sums up the ingredients you should start looking out for and the effects they can have that do the opposite of what those products are supposed to help with. Fragrances are one of the most notorious, using that label to cover all kinds of ingredients that can dry, age, and irritate your skin even further. Get into the habit of reading the labels for those red flag ingredients before buying skin care products.

Sensitive skin isn’t always the easiest to handle and if you start suffering serious problems with it, it’s time to visit your dermatologist. For everyday care, however, the tips above can help you keep the peace and avoid those unsightly breakouts.

Moisturising

Moisturising your skin as when possible is one of the best remedies to deal with dryness. Apply Olive oil before going to moisturise your skin naturally. You can also use Milk cream, Honey, Yogurt or Aloe vera instead of going for thick cosmetic creams.

Moisturise your face 2 – 3 a day as and when you feel dryness.

Scrubbing

Take 2 ripe bananas and mash them, add a pinch of sugar and honey. Honey helps in moisturising the face naturally. Gently massage your face with this scrub and wash your face.

Another Face scrub that you can make at home is using orange peel and dry it completely in sun. Make a powder of it. Add honey to it and apply the paste on face and massage gently on face.

Instead of Orange peel, you can also opt for Lemon peel.

Toning

Wear light-colored clothing

It seems just lovely when you have a date, a prom or an important interview, wearing light-colored dress will be one of an ideal option to let other parties know that you are dandruff-free. The likelihood of being noticed with dandruff will be very low. You can realize dandruff on the hair is because the hair is black or in other dark colors. Wear a hat, cap or scarf

Instead of wearing white clothing you might choose to wear a hat, scarf or a cap. All of them can hide your hair which means they can hide your dandruff too. No matter what you wear such as a cap, a bowler, it will assist you partially in hiding your dandruff from other people. However, sometimes it can be stranger if you wear a scarf during hot summer days.

 Wear a wig

It might not be everybody’s ideal option. However, it is still useful in some aspects. Wearing a wig can be considered as one of the safest and quickest fixes for your hair when you have dandruff. Moreover, wigs have become more and more fashionable throughout decades. Let’s try and see how natural you look like when wearing a wig.

Use a good hairbrush

Brushing your hair seems to be another excellent choice to get rid of dandruff in seconds. Not only does regular brushing can help distribute your sebum, hair oils, but it also cleans your scalp by removing dead skin cells, dirt, and buildup from the hair. There are two kinds of brushes for those who are suffering from dandruff which is highly recommended. If you have long hair, a boar bristle brush makes an excellent choice whereas thick hair will need large spacing between the bristles. On the contrary, if your hair is short, select a nylon ball tipped smaller plastic brush.

Use a scalp brush

While a boar bristle brush can clean your hair and distribute the oils on your hair, a scalp brush will be able to do the same thing to your hair. It can not only spread your sebum. However, a scalp brush can also invigorate your scalp by getting rid of flakes, buildup, and dirt.

Moisturize your scalp

There are so many things such as hair mask or some other natural home remedies to keep your hair always moisturized. In this article, we will introduce you two most outstanding ways to keep your hair still moisturized.

Shea Butter

Appears widely in both Africa and Asia, shea butter can act as a natural moisturizer as well as medication for centuries. Moreover, raw shea butter is mostly fat extracted from the shea nut – a species that is native to Africa. If your hair has dandruff and dry scalp, you should try shea butter. The butter is high in oleic acid, the excess of which can lead to an outbreak. Therefore, if you have sub derm, you should use other natural remedies rather than shea butter.

Hair mask

Instead of shea butter, you can choose hair masks to cure your dandruff as well. Once incredible thing about this is that it can significantly combat dry scalp. Including a significant amount of oil, the hair mask can help you in the control of dandruff, dry scalp as well as flaky scalp.

Restyle your hair

Similar to wearing a wig, this might not be an optimal choice for some people. However, it can still help you in some aspects. The lesser hair you have, the lesser dandruff you will have. If you do not prefer your hair being cut off, you can just restyle it. Brush it forward or pull it back is your choice.

Use a dry dandruff shampoo

The last choice is to adopt a dry shampoo which is specially formulated for those who suffer from dandruff and dry scalp. Though it is not the fastest choice, you can still expect to be significantly dandruff free in a month or less if choose the appropriate shampoo. Here are several tricks you can consider before purchasing the shampoos.

Go for a gentle and sulfate – free shampoo as strong detergents found in shampoos can lead to irritation which can allow easier invasion of microbes and many other harmful chemical irritants, perpetuating the cycle. Shampoo which brings an organic or natural certification which can guarantee freedom from other irritants. Besides, these shampoos can also bring benefits of healing and soothing effects which come from chamomile, aloe vera and antifungal tea tree.

Avoid washing your hair on a daily basis. A gentle shampoo can assist you in cleaning well and balancing sebum production without stimulating the oily scalp to produce excess oil or an over – dry one to flake more and more. Try to extend washing frequency by 3 – 4 days so that your hair can refresh in between with shampoo which contains dandruff busting herbal properties.

Apply an overnight treatment to begin your dandruff, dry and flaky scalp treatment. You can use your hairbrush to remove any loose flakes and then sparingly apply the herbal balm such as argan oil or coconut oil on the scalp. After that, use the shower cap to cover your hair and wash off your hair in the next morning to get rid of any excess balm. You can consider using Dove Anti Dandruff Shampoo which is one of the most well – known hair products for the use of salicylic acid as well as sulfur/ Salicylic acid does an excellent job in cutting down a number of fungi as it consists of antimicrobial, antiviral and antibiotics properties.
