4 Questions about Women’s Intimate Hygiene – Answered

Turns out that all women have the same questions and the same concerns about their personal hygiene, and many feel too embarrassed or afraid to talk about them. But our personal, feminine hygiene is crucial for good health, and you shouldn’t feel ashamed to ask questions about your body. You should always be aware of what is going on inside of you, and ask a professional for advice if you see some changes that you aren’t sure about. So, let’s answer some of the most frequent questions about your personal hygiene:

Are the odors normal?

We all tend to think that our bodies are somehow weird and different from everyone else’s. But actually, the odds are that whatever you are going through, a lot of people are going through as well. You might notice a certain odor around your vagina, but the discharge that it produces (which is also completely normal) often has a smell. The one thing you definitely mustn’t do is use strong soaps with a lot of perfume to try to cover up the smell, because that can do some serious damage. If you think that the odor is stronger than it should be, or if you find it unpleasant, it might be a good idea to check in with your doctor, because a strong odor might be a sign of an infection that needs to be taken care of.

Should I be douching?

Absolutely not. Your vagina is actually very smart and it takes care of itself really good. The discharge that you can sometimes spot is actually a vagina’s self-cleansing system, which, if you are in good health, works like a charm. Douching, or trying to clean the inside of your vagina in any way, can harm the natural balance and processes that your body has in place. Remember that periods are completely normal and that there is no need to feel dirty, while you are on your period. If you think that there is something wrong with your lady parts, instead of taking things into your own hands – visit a gynecologist and share your worries with them.

Should I groom my pubic hair?

That choice is entirely up to you. In the past, women and men would remove their hair to prevent lice, but in today’s modern society, we don’t have those worries. What’s more, your pubic hair actually protects your vagina from any dirt that might otherwise get to your labia. So, the choice is entirely up to you, but be careful with hair removal techniques, because your skin is very delicate in that area and ingrown hairs are a common occurrence. If you do choose to remove your pubic hair, perhaps it’s best to visit a professional beauty salon and let them help you.

What is the proper way to clean up?

While you are in the shower, you should wash the outer parts of your vagina with some warm water. If you want to use soap, make sure it is natural, mild and made for intimate care. Don’t ever let soap get on the inside of your vagina. Some places have equipment devoted to the task, like a bidet in Australia or Europe. These are especially useful for when you are on your period, because they make cleaning up very easy. But if you are out and about, traveling or camping, you can use intimate wet wipes for on-the-go freshness.

Remember that it’s up to you how you take care of your body, and health and comfort should be your top priorities. So, stay clean and fresh and be happy in your body.

Eye of the Tiger: How to Keep Your Eyes Healthy

By Guest Blogger Diana S.

Eye of the Tiger: How to Keep Your Eyes Healthy

Having a good vision and healthy eyes is an important part of your overall health and good quality of life. Even though most of us don’t think about our eyes until we start seeing (or rather not seeing) some changes, prevention is a much better option than treatment. There are many things you can do to keep your eyes in tip-top shape and maintain good vision well into your senior years.

Eat healthy foods

Ever since you were little, you’ve been listening how carrots are good for your eyesight, but that’s not the only veggie that will keep your eyes healthy. Vegetables like dark leafy greens (spinach, collard greens, and kale) will make you see like a falcon. Fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as tuna, salmon, and halibut, also have many health benefits for your eyes.

Protect your eyes from UV rays

During a sunny day, always wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Constant exposure to UV rays can cause cataracts, pinguecula and other eye diseases. However, not all sunglasses have UV protection, so read the label carefully and choose the ones that will provide protection against the harmful UV rays.

Wear eye protection

Every time you engage in sports, DIY projects or activities around the house that can be harmful to your eyes make sure to wear appropriate eye protection, such as safety glasses. Choose eyewear that is made out of polycarbonate that is strong enough to offer good eye protection. Also, never skip wearing your eye protection in your workplace and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

Don’t smoke

Smoking is as bad for your lungs, heart and throat as it is bad for your eyes. Many studies link smoking to the development of age-related macular degeneration, cataract, and optic nerve damage. All of these eye diseases potentially lead to blindness! So, ditch your smoking habit, or better yet, never start in the first place.

Rest your eyes regularly

Resting your eyes is essential, especially if you spend a lot of time doing activities that are strenuous to the eye, like working at the computer. If you focus too much on one task, you might forget to blink and overwork your eyes which causes headaches, shoulder pain and dry eyes. In order to rest your eyes, you can try the 20-20-20 rule. Look away at about 20 feet in the distance every 20 minutes and don’t move your eyes for 20 seconds. This reduces eye fatigue and relaxes your eyes.

Don’t ignore the signs of vision deterioration

As soon as you start noticing some changes in your eyesight, make an appointment with your doctor. If you notice signs like hazy or double vision, difficulty seeing in low light, eye redness, flashes of light, floaters or eye swelling and pain, don’t ignore them for a second.

Have regular eye exams

According to recent studies, about half of Australia’s population wears glasses or contacts on a regular basis. Additionally, the number of preventable eye diseases is rising as well. All of these numbers could be significantly lower if people went for regular eye exams, at least once in two years. Your optometrist or ophthalmologist can also make sure your glasses or contacts prescription is up to date. So, don’t take any risks and book an eye test in Sydney the first chance you get.

Know your family’s eye problem history

Knowing your family’s history of eye conditions is very important for your eye health since many of these conditions can be hereditary. If you know you fall into a high-risk category, you will be able to react in time and take proper care of your eyes.

Even though there is no step you can take to completely prevent eye diseases and vision deterioration, healthy lifestyle, eye protection and regular eye tests will certainly help keep your peepers in top condition.

How to Choose Swimwear According to Your Skin Tone

By Guest Blogger, Diana S.

How to Choose Swimwear According to Your Skin Tone

Even though it seems completely unimportant, the color of your swimsuit can really affect your overall appearance. I don’t know why, but people still tend to neglect the importance of colors of their clothes, and especially swimwear. As the most revealing garment, your swimsuit should compliment your body all the way – from your curves all the way to your skin tone, in order to make you feel confident while wearing it.

Determine your skin tone

Roughly, you can divide skin tones into two categories: cool and warm. There are three ways to determine which one is yours.

  • Take something pure white, such as a sheet of paper or a towel, and hold it under your chin under the natural light source without any makeup on. Your skin has a warm tone if it is slightly yellow hue and a cool one if the hue is slightly blue.
  • If the veins on the underside of your wrists appear blue, you have a cool skin tone, and if they appear green you have a warm skin tone.
  • If gold looks better on you, your skin tone is warm, and if silver looks better on you, your skin tone is cold.

Now, when it comes to warm skin tones, they can be dark, medium or light with golden or caramel undertones. Generally, people with this skin tone have orange, yellow, red or gold hair with brown, green or hazel eyes.

Contrary, when it comes to cool tones, they can range from very pale porcelain with no color in the cheeks all the way to darker skin that has red or pink undertones. Hair usually has hints of violet, blue or silver with blue, grey, green, black or cool brown eyes.

Light skin plus light blond/red hair

Soft colors are the best choice here, since really bold colors can show off your pale side even though they make a statement. Opt for soft greens, pinks and beiges. Black can be either a hit or a miss depending on whether your skin is more on the cooler or the warmer side. Girls with red hair and this skin tone look fabulous in white and cobalt blue.

Avoid yellow and orange.

Creamy light skin plus dark hair

I like to call this combination the Snow White combo. The best choice for you would be any shade of blue such as turquoise, navy and baby blue, as well as emerald, plum and fuchsia.

Avoid white and orange.

Medium-light skin plus brown hair

Your warm side can be accentuated with deep reds or rich earthy tones. Peachy and beige tones as well as dark ones, such as black or grey, can make you look washed out a bit, so try to avoid them.

Olive/light brown skin plus medium/dark brown hair

Oh, aren’t you lucky? From black, over blues all the way to army greens – you can rock every single color on the wheel. You can also opt for bold and colorful signature swimwear from Australia if you want to spice things up a little bit and give your skin color some more depth.

Avoid colors such as brown and grey – they are just too lifeless for you.

Caramel skin plus brown/black hair

Caramel beauties have a built-in glow which they can enhance even more or tone down with the right choice of color. If you are one of them, opt for deep oranges, warmer purples or teal if you want to point out your golden character, and if you want a little calmer vibe that still catches the eye opt for mint green or navy.

Very dark skin plus dark hair

Chocolate beauties look amazing in pastel colors such as soft pinks, baby blues, pale yellows, minty greens and light greys. However, they should avoid white, brown and orange colors.

That would be it. I think we can all agree that, even though summer is the best season of them all, a perfect and flattering swimsuit on you can make it even better.

How to Properly Care for Hair Extensions

By Guest Blogger, Diana S.

How to Properly Care for Hair Extensions

In today’s age of countless styles and ways to present yourself to the world, we want to take full advantage of all the options we have. And if we’re being honest – how else are we supposed to meet all of the ridiculous expectations the world has? One of those advantages is hair extensions: an easy way to change up your hairstyle in a moment, as well as add volume and length to your hair without the expensive, harsh treatments. But hair extensions are an investment, and just like any other, they need care if you want them to last you a long time. So, let’s see what are the proper ways of taking care of your extensions.

Brush them out

There are two most popular styles of hair extensions: clip-in and sewn-in. If you are using clip-in extensions, you should take them out every night before you go to sleep and brush them out thoroughly. Be gentle when brushing them so that you don’t damage the hair. If you are wearing sewn-in extensions, brush your hair every night all the same, and then loosely braid it or wear soft pigtails, to stop the hair from tangling up.

Wash them regularly

This really only applies to clip-in extensions, since sewn in extensions will be washed whenever you wash your hair. A lot of people think that they don’t need to wash their extensions so often, since they remove them every regularly, or, on the other hand, think that they need to wash them every time they wear them. Depending on how often you wear your extensions, you should wash them anywhere from once a week to once per month. It’s important to remember to always thoroughly brush and detangle the hair before washing it. Next, submerge it in a sink of lukewarm water and use a little bit of paraben- and sulfate-free shampoo, lathering it up and rinsing off. If you prefer, you can apply a little bit of conditioner and treat it as you would your own hair. Don’t use too many products at the same time because you risk damaging or over-moisturizing the extensions.

Style & store

After washing the hair is ready to dry, and stylists recommend to always let the hair air-dry. This might be difficult, especially if you are wearing non-removable extensions, but letting your hair dry on its own is the most harmless way of drying it. After that comes the time to style it, and you might want to style your hair differently each time you wash it. Generally, stylists warn to avoid heat, since it is your hair’s worst enemy, but, if you are using high-quality clip in human hair extensions, and protecting them with some heat spray, you can use low heat tools to curl or straighten the hair. As far as storing the extensions is concerned, you should always store them clean, dry, brushed and ready to use, or you might be met with a moldy mess the next time you want to use them. Store them in an airtight container that fits them perfectly, because you want to avoid the hair getting tangled in a small box or damp from the moisture in the air.

Hair extensions are a great way to change up your look and effortlessly add some volume to your hair. You can use them daily to extend and style your hair, or for special occasions, if your hair is lacking in length or volume for a certain hairstyle you want to try. If you are planning on using them for the first time for a special occasion, either go to a professional or try to create the look at least once before the event, just to make sure you get the hang of it before the big night.

Secrets of a Well-Lit Bedroom

By Guest Blogger Diana S.

Secrets of a Well-Lit Bedroom

The bedroom is the place where we finally leave our daily woes behind. It is meant to be a place of comfort and coziness where we can feel good in our skin. In many ways, it is the last “bastion” of the kingdom that you can truly call your own – a home. This is why it is important to take care of every aspect of this room to create a truly comfy place and making an effort when it comes to light sources can truly pay off. If you are interested in how to do this, here are some secrets of a well-lit bedroom.

Go soft

The key thing when it comes to a well-lit bedroom is not to overdo it. You do not need a fixture that can throw a blinding light with the strength that can rival theater reflectors. In order to have a relaxing bedroom, you have to go soft.

This is not a dining room or a living room where you can “show off” the light show and where you can experiment with interior design coupled with a variety of crazy lights. In fact, too much light in your bedroom can be a form of light pollution when you think about it.

This means you should avoid LED light bulbs in your bedroom at all cost. They may be a good solution for your kitchen or your bathroom, but they are known to cause a lot of stress for your eyes, which is something you cannot have in this environment.

Bet on lamps

Chandeliers are superfluous in bedrooms. They tend to be bulky and hard to clean, not to mention there is always the danger of something falling off while you’re asleep and, if the bed is directly under the chandelier, waking you up in a very unpleasant way. It is a much better solution to install wall fixtures and add a dash of milky glass cover over the bulbs, something that will make the contrast dimmer and contours of the room smoother.

This is why lamps are such a good type of lighting to bring into your bedroom. They can be heavily stylized, different and colorful – they are a perfect tool to bring something aesthetically distinctive into your bedroom while fulfilling their basic lighting function.

Their best feature is that they are completely optional and movable – it is easy to throw them out of the room or replace them if you find a more suitable lamp. Salt lamps are a very popular choice among the people who lead a healthy lifestyle. Even if you do not believe in the health benefits of salt lamps, they can look very appealing and give your bedroom a very distinctive look.

Have an electrician on speed dial

Short circuits and malfunctioning light switches are nothing particularly special. In fact, they are the bane of every household’s existence. When it comes to electrical issues and emerging problems, you will probably notice something is wrong in your bedroom long after the evening has started.

This is why every household needs to have a reliable emergency Sydney electrician on speed dial. Being able to call a repairman at any time of the day is truly an invaluable luxury that usually does not cost much.

Each room in your household should come with its own set of distinctive light sources that emphasize the role of the room. As the bedroom provides a space of safety and comfort, you need to adjust and install the light fixtures accordingly. Do not overdo it, and go for gentle solutions above all else. If you strike the right balance, you will end up with a perfect bedroom and you will truly be able to leave your stress at the door.

Creative Ways to Decorate Your Front Door

By Guest Blogger Diana S.

Creative Ways to Decorate Your Front Door

Every season brings many changes to our surroundings. No matter whether you live in a house with a yard or in an apartment on the 3rd floor, there are certain spaces that can be decorated and freshened-up.

Nature itself will always complement the look of your house, especially if you own a yard, but when decorating our front doors with something creative and unique, we’re bringing a whole new look to our living area.

Here are a few creative ideas on how to decorate and refresh your front doors without necessarily copying your neighbors’ ideas, or without getting stuck with uninspiring decor examples from arts & crafts magazines.

DIY Decor

The main entrance to your home can reveal much more about you than you’d ever think, so why choose universal decor ideas when you can get creative with the DIY approach? Express yourself by going for the inspiring front door decor designs and you’ll be surprised to see how many creative solutions will emerge in the process.

If you want to pay homage to your family name, the DIY monogram letters are a great solution for such front door decor. Use a pattern to cut the shape of the letter and cover it with moss, twine, fabric, or buttons. Even led lights can do the trick and they will light up your front door at night.

Freshen up your front door with flowers, umbrellas, rainboots, and watering cans. Place some faux flowers in an old umbrella and use a hammer and a nail to hang it on the front door. Or put the flowers in a pair of rainboots and place them at the center of the front door.

Don’t go for the common wreath decor. Take a watering can, fill it up with plants and secure it with a ribbon to make an adorable decorative solution.

Use a custom-made chalkboard as a front door decor by painting the interior of a frame or tray with chalkboard paint. Write some welcoming and heartwarming words to welcome your guests in a creative way. This solution is helpful when you need a few hours of peace and quiet because it takes a second to write the messages like ”On vacation!” or “Shhhh… a lunch break!”. Also, you’ll certainly be surprised from time to time when you discover cute messages that were written by your friends and loving neighbors.

Safety First

Our working and living areas should be secured with high-security measures, no matter whether you’re a homeowner looking for a safe solution, or a business owner who’s after a high-performing security system for your company. There are a few smart and creative solutions for securing the front doors, you can always turn to a professional locksmith in Parramatta whose superior customer services will get your house back on track by providing it with safety and security.

Opting for the old-school security measures will only bring the vintage looks to the doors, so turn those classic chain locks and padlocks into a door decor rather than the security solution. The multiple-point locking systems are great for the indoors and main door security, as well as the double locks with built-in alarm systems. No one wants to see their beautifully decorated front door scratched and damaged in the burglar’s attempt to break in. Always secure your home since the aesthetics are conditioned by the safety.

These ideas will help you look beyond the wreaths and padlocks and have your creative flow going. Choose your favorite idea and start decorating!

5 Simple Eco-Friendly Home Improvement Projects

By Guest Blogger by Diana S.

5 Simple Eco-Friendly Home Improvement Projects

Every home needs a change every once in a while. And since today it’s all about going green, you can use this opportunity to make your home greener. This way, you won’t only aid in saving the environment, but you’ll also be able to save a lot of money on your bills. Even though some of these projects may seem costly now, when thinking long-term, these home improvement projects will save you tons of money in the future. But with so many things you can do to green up your home, choosing the upgrades you’ll go for can be quite challenging. That’s why we came up with a list of five simple eco-friendly home improvement projects that might just be what you were looking for.

Add more insulation

Having a high-quality insulation means you’ll have to spend way less money on keeping your home cool during summer and warm during winter. Many older homes aren’t as insulated as new ones, so depending on when your home was built, you might want to think about adding more insulation to it. Luckily, this is a project you can do yourself and avoid calling in professionals. If you decide to add a layer of fiberglass, which is the easiest way to make your home more energy efficient, all you’re going to need is a utility knife, a straightedge and a little bit of effort.

Let natural light in

Another great way to make your home more eco-friendly is to start relying on natural light more than you do now. Think about the rooms in your home where the light is always on and see if they’re able to fit a new window or two. By relying on natural light, you’ll be guaranteed to save a lot of money on your electricity bill. Also, it has been shown that natural light has a positive effect on your productivity. So, if there’s an office or study room in your home, installing more windows there is definitely a good idea.

Buy at antique shops

Antique shops are great places to visit when you want to make your home more environmentally friendly. That’s where you can find tons of different doorknobs, lighting fixtures, and coffee tables which might just be what you need in order to give your home a fresh look. Moreover, when shopping in antique stores, you’ll be investing in repurposed items, which is always a good thing to do when trying to save the environment. Make sure you visit all the local antique stores, and you’ll be guaranteed to find items that will match the style in your home perfectly.

Ventilate your roof

Most of the homes have heat trapped in the roof. If this is the case with your home, this heat is going to make things uncomfortably warm during the summer and make you use your air conditioner more often. And in order to make sure this doesn’t happen, you should think about ventilating your roof. There are Whirlybird vents which are powered by wind and are guaranteed to keep the air in your roof fresh. So, if you want to green up your home, make sure you get one of these and contact experts who offer Whirlybird installation services and can have it set up for you.

Use low-flow showerheads

We all tend to use large amounts of water when taking a shower. Still, most of that water goes to waste and when going green, reducing the amount of wasted water should be one of your most important goals. Luckily, you can now get low-flow showerheads that will help you reduce the volume of water used when taking a shower to a mere fraction of the water that was wasted before. Some of these even come with a timer which can alert you when it’s time to wrap it up.

All the projects we mentioned above are going to help you aid in saving the environment and save money. Still, make sure you always keep looking for new ways to make your home greener.

How to Look Great at the Gym

By Guest Blogger Diana S.

How to Look Great at the Gym

Losing weight and staying fit is tough work and sometimes it’s hard to look your best when you’re covered in sweat from head to toe. But, if looking extra fly will motivate you to work out harder and more often, then you must try to get some new gym wear that will inspire you to hit the treadmill. The right gym clothes will not only make you look amazing but also make your workouts more efficient and easier. So, what to wear, what to wear?

Undergarments

Even though it looks super cute on you, that lace bra and underwear might not be the best gym clothes option. It certainly makes you feel sexy on a date night, but it will only make you feel uncomfortable at the gym. In general, no underwear will be as comfy during exercise as a sports bra and athletic panties. Sports bras provide some extra support, limit breast movement and pain, and typically come in light and breathable materials that help keep your skin dry. Men have it a bit easier here, just make sure your undies are comfortable.

Socks and shoes

Athletic socks should be your number one choice to wear during your workout because they’re made of light, synthetic materials that wick away sweat and don’t scratch your skin. No matter the length you prefer, sporting goods stores have all kind of athletic socks for you. When it comes to shoes, you should choose them according to your preferred activity. For instance, if you love to run, then getting cross trainers is just not a great idea, and if you’re an avid weightlifter, running shoes will not do the job. Don’t be scared to splurge some more money on high-quality shoes, otherwise, you’re risking injuries and all sorts of unwanted side-effects. But, generally, look for shoes that are light, comfortable, keep your feet cool and provide ample support.

Shirts

Both women and men have a wide variety of options here. Ladies usually opt for T-shirts, tank tops, long-sleeved shirts or sweatshirts for the gym. In general, gyms permit all sorts of tank tops, but halter tops and shirts that show excessive cleavage are usually frowned upon. Just to be sure, check your gym’s dress code to ensure which shirts are appropriate. Guys better avoid tiny tank tops, even if you’re a pro bodybuilder. We get it, you have a killer body, but obviously, you have an even bigger ego. Instead, get a high-quality sleeveless shell tank that will show off your arms and hint at your abs just the right amount. And as with all gym clothing, ensure your tops and shirts are made of light, stretchy fabric that keeps you cool and doesn’t limit your mobility. You can also check out some moisture-wicking options.

Pants and shorts

For many women, the only criterion when buying gym pants is that they match with their shirt. But, your foremost priority should always be to find shorts, yoga pants and sweatpants that are light, comfortable and allow a wide range of movements. Some ladies prefer elasticized biking-style shorts, while others favor the comfort and freedom they find in yoga pants. When it comes to the gentlemen, don’t try to make your swim trunks do your gym work. Instead, pick up a few pairs of men’s gym shorts that offer breathability and comfort.

Hair and makeup

If you feel too naked going to the gym without any makeup, then choose a sheer, light foundation, a couple of coats of waterproof mascara and pull your hair out of your face. It’s an easy and functional look that still allows you to look polished at the gym

Now that you know what to wear and what to avoid in the gym, there are no more excuses. Grab your gear and hit those dumbbells.

How to Lose Your Weight in Fun and Exciting Ways

By Guest Blogger Diana S.

How to Lose Your Weight in Fun and Exciting Ways

Weight has become a sensitive issue. On one hand, the first world countries have a growing number of obesity problems, and on the other hand, it has become a political issue. In spite of all this, people are always looking for a way to live a healthier lifestyle and these days, there are a lot of fun and exciting ways to lose your weight.

Become a smoothie master

One of the first things you hear when it comes losing weight is to cut down on starch, milk and milk derivatives. This means most of your meals will consist of fruits and vegetables, and this is where the fun way to lose weight emerges.

Since 70% of our body is water, we need a higher liquid intake to speed up our metabolism and lose those extra pounds. Therefore, you could combine the best of both worlds and turn your fruits and vegetable meals into juices. There are a lot of recipes online that even combine fruits and vegetables into a single smoothie.

However, you can go one step further and start developing your own recipes and combinations. This can be an exciting culinary adventure that can lead you in many unexpected directions. You just need a blender and a juicer and you are good to go.

Start trekking and discover the undiscovered

At first glance, the activity like trekking might sound too boring and hard for a casual person. However, with the right group of friends, this can be turned into a fun and exciting activity. For starters, find a group of people with which you click when it comes to adventuring.

Then go out whenever you can and start conquering those hills and valleys outside of town. You can even agree to go to a different location every time and enjoy hours of talking and trekking as you explore new territories and discover beautiful vistas you’d never think you’d find so close to home.

Play soccer and bond with friends

Soccer is not as violent a sport as American football and it can be played leisurely. It contains the element of socialization that will build up your bond with the members of your team and the respect of your opponents as you try to think of new strategies.

The 90 minutes (the length of one soccer game) will pass in a blink of an eye and you will start losing that extra weight before you know it. This is a fantastically fun sport that can work for a variety of people of all shapes, sizes and ages. No wonder, therefore, it’s called the favorite pastime of the world.

If there are no quality soccer terrains nearby, you can pop into a well-equipped soccer shop and buy a pair of goals as well as some additional accessories and make your own terrain for you and your friends. Since these accessories enable you to play wherever you want and modify the size of the terrain, you can even do it in your own backyard if other options are not available.

Do some doga

Yes, you’ve read it right. It’s called doga and it’s a combination of two words – dog and yoga. If you want to go completely wacky and fun with in order to lose your weight, why not add your pet to the mix? Believe it or not, doga is actually becoming a trend, as it’s a fantastically hilarious way to stretch and push your body and simultaneously bond with your pet. As it’s evident by numerous YouTube videos, it’s a potential source of countless funny situations which will help you forget you are even practicing. It’s far from the traditional way to lose weight, but try it out, and you’ll discover it’s as effective as it is fun.

We all want to push our bodies into shape. No matter the size of our bodies, we all feel much better once a physical activity that requires discipline is thrown into the lifestyle mix. In order to get the best of all worlds – in other words, have fun and lose weight – just try any of the aforementioned methods, and you’ll see yourself laughing through those extra pounds before you know it.

Stay hydrated

Water is essential throughout the whole year, but during the summer you have to pay attention to it even more. Summer can be harsh on our bodies since strong sun dries out our skin and we lose plenty of water by sweating. That’s why you need to start drinking plenty of water right now. Additionally, if you are working out for the summer, the lack of water will make your workout sessions less effective because hydration is essential for performance and fat-burning.

Cut back on processed food

Bread, pasta, bagels, crackers and cookies are all filled with bad processed carbohydrates that will do you no good. They certainly are tasty, but such foods are filled with sodium and preservatives that will hold water in your body and cause bloating. So, if you are craving some food and you are at the store, check the ingredients listed on the package. If you cannot read or pronounce the ingredients, don’t eat it. Instead, opt for small servings of fresh fruit and veggies that will actually help you get ready for summer.

Increase the intake of natural diuretics

In order to lose a few pounds and get rid of all the toxins in your body, you should rely on natural diuretics. Such foods will make it easier for your body to get rid of excess fluids. These include cucumbers, lemons, green tea, asparagus and any other foods that have a higher concentration of potassium, vitamin C, magnesium and caffeine. Plus, such foods are rich in antioxidants that will protect your skin from the negative effects of the sun.

Exercise more

If you want a bikini body, then you must not skip exercising. Get your gym wear ready and commit to an intensive full-body strength workout at least three times a week. Such a workout will burn the calories, boost your metabolism and help you develop muscles. Also, make your belly and bottom top priorities. Glutes (bottom muscles) are some of the biggest muscles in your body and they will require more energy and effort, which will result in more burnt calories. As far as your belly is concerned, it is one of the essential elements of looking good, so commit to some core exercises three times a week.

Reduce alcohol

Every type of alcohol contains plenty of bad calories that will only pile up. So, if you’re used to drinking every once in a while, try cutting back. You will reduce the calorie intake and you will feel better overall. Plus, you will manage to preserve a healthy metabolism and it will be much easier to exercise and get better results with a limited alcohol intake.

Try fake tanning

Lastly, you can try out fake tanning and be completely ready for summer. You don’t want to show up on the beach pale and almost see-through and lack of tan might get you some serious sunburns. So, try out different tanning options before you go out and enjoy the sun.

Don’t wait the last minute to start working on your summer body. Commit to exercising and watch your diet and you will be ready in no time.
