Are E-Cigarettes Unsafe?

The health risks of smoking cigarettes are now widely known and the ever-increasing prices of cigarettes are intended to discourage people from smoking. Also, in many countries, it is now illegal to smoke in a public place. Many smokers use e-cigarettes as an alternative, with vaping largely free of the negative connotations associated with smoking. However, research has shown that e-cigarettes are not a whole lot healthier than the time-honored tobacco equivalents.

Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine, which is known to have addictive properties and to make users more susceptible to other addictive substances. Researchers from the New York School of Medicine found that nicotine from e-cigarettes could lead to cancer due to damaging string DNA. Also, Swedish researchers discovered that the use of e-cigarettes containing nicotine results in increased heart rate and blood pressure within 30 minutes.

Boost Your Health By Making These Small Changes

Boost Your Health By Making These Small Changes

Our health is vitally important to us, but there are some things we do each day without even realising that could be hindering our health in some way. It may only be a small thing, but over a longer period, some of the things we do, eat or drink can have an adverse effect on our health. Of course, we all have to live a little and enjoy treats and life, but at the same time perhaps changing the way we do things or our habits would improve our health overall and make us ultimately feel much better. So I thought I would share with you some of the smaller changes you could make that could end up having a big impact on your health.

Give up smoking

Smoking is one of those things that can become a habit very quickly. Many people who smoke may have just started on a whim years ago and now feel like it is more of a comfort to them and find it difficult to stop. But I’m sure some of us are aware that smoking can cause damage to our health in the long term. So taking this habit and ditching it for good could be one of the best health decisions you make. Of course, it’s a decision only you can make yourself.

Embrace sobriety

Drinking alcohol for some can be something you do socially when you are out of the house on a night out. Some will drink quite a bit, and others won’t tolerate too much. But there are some people that could be drinking everyday of the week, perhaps in small or larger quantities. But excessive alcohol can cause damage to our health, and it’s important to understand whether you are drinking too much. Some people really embrace sobriety and others choose to give up midweek drinking, whatever you choose there is plenty of resources available on how to stop drinking that could be life changing.

Increase the amount of water you drink

Water is an excellent resource to boosting your health and wellbeing. Not only can it help rid your body of bad toxins naturally, but it can also improve your mood and energy levels. It can be hard to get into the habit of drinking more water, especially when we have so many options of carbonated and squash drinks. But water is a great way to feel better on the inside, and it can also show on the outside by improving your skin tone and condition.

Cut sugar from your diet completely

Sugar is in most foods these days. You may think it’s as simple as not eating biscuits and chocolates, but you will find sugar in ready meals, in yoghurt and natural sugars in fruit. But sugar can be bad for your health and our teeth, and it is something we can become addicted to without even realising. If you can, try and cut sugar from your diet or at least in the foods you are aware of it in and see how you feel after a few weeks.

I hope this has inspired you to make some small changes that could have a big impact on your health.
