Simple Style Guides for the Perfect Playsuit Outfit

Year after year, these amazing one-pieces keep making a comeback. We are talking, of course, about playsuits. They are the easiest thing in the world to make into a full outfit and they fit nearly everyone amazingly. But there are a few tricks to making a playsuit look good, and once you master them, it will surely become your new favorite piece. So to help you be perfectly on trend this summer, here is exactly what you need to know about wearing this fabulous piece of clothing.

Choose the right style

Just like you can’t bundle up all dresses under one name, you can’t do it with playsuits either. And a lot of people give up on a playsuit just because the first one they tried on didn’t fit them the way they wanted it to. For starters, let’s look at the tops. Tops of playsuits vary as much as tops in general, so going for something that you usually like to wear as a top will give you a better chance of finding something you like. If you wear wrap tops, tank tops, or off-shoulder tops, find a playsuit that features a similar style. As for the bottoms, there is a clear distinction: playsuits feature shorts, culotte jumpsuits are a bit longer, and traditional jumpsuits have a full-length bottom. Choose something you are comfortable with, that fits the occasion and that shows off your personal style.

Sizing

This is the tricky part. Even when buying a fitted dress, you can’t just drape it over your body. You need to see if the waist is in the right place, if there is enough room for the chest, etc. With rompers, it’s a step further than that, because you also have to figure out how high the crotch should be so that it looks flattering. This will depend mostly on the size and length of your torso and your legs. When you are picking out a jumpsuit, or ordering online, you might want to aim for a size up, unless you are very petite. A baggy look is a lot more forgiving than something too tight, so use that to your advantage.

Layers

An amazing way to style playsuits is to layer them with something. Because they are an outfit all by themselves, throwing in something over or under the playsuit can make all the difference. If you live in a colder climate like Scandinavia, you can still wear playsuits, layered perhaps with a turtleneck underneath. Or if you live somewhere where the weather changes often, like Sydney, summery playsuits in Australia can be worn with a rain jacket tied around the waist, ready to be put into action if it starts to rain.

Accessories

Depending on the print of the jumpsuit, you might not have to accessorize a lot at all. If it is a busy print, then necklaces and other jewelry will just get lost in the clothing. In those situations, consider accessories that don’t overlap with the romper, like hats, shoes and bags. However, if you are wearing a plain black jumpsuit, then it’s the perfect time for a colorful belt, long necklace, bracelets and all the other pieces that make your style truly your own. This can also help you with choosing your playsuit initially. If you are someone who likes to accessorize, don’t go for a heavy print, and vice versa.

Playsuits aren’t going anywhere as a style, and there are more and more of them to choose from every season, so get comfortable and remember – going to the bathroom in a romper is not as scary as everyone thinks it is!

How To Make Your Health a Daily Priority

How To Make Your Health a Daily Priority

Today our lives are busier than ever – building careers, family commitments, juggling hobbies and essentials – it’s no wonder really that modern life can often feel quite overwhelming.

But what consequences does having so many daily responsibilities have on our health and well being?

Well, when life gets super busy, as it often does, it’s easy to fall into the trap pof short cuts and bad habits that don’t prioritise our health. Acting on autopilot, we sacrifice ourselves and make a short-term choice, be that grabbing the quick dinner that we know is less than healthy for us or choosing to skip workouts and meditation sessions that normally keep us grounded.

By default, we tend to operate on auto-pilot mode, muddling through the days and making excuses to ourselves. The side order? A healthy dose of guilt and blame, as we recognise deep down that we aren’t making the choices we need to for our long-term health.

But life isn’t going to let up anytime soon, so what can we do to make sure health becomes a daily priority? It turns out some simple strategies can stop you having to compromise all the time…

Recognise The Choice Cycle

Trapping in feelings of self-doubt and tiredness, many of us avoid acknowledging our own agency in the matter. It’s easy to blame circumstances from ‘stopping’ us maintaining our health, but the truth is, although we can’t avoid what life throws at us, we can choose how we deal with it.

That autonomy is our gift, and refusing to accept that prevents many of us from achieving our wellbeing goals. Take a moment to step back from the situation and remove emotion from the equation. What would you say to you best friend or a relative that complained they were too busy to take care of themselves? Instead of judging yourself or blaming circumstances, acknowledge that life is busy and can be overwhelming – but also that you have a choice about how you react.

If you don’t actively choose to break the cycle, you’re going to end up stuck in a helpless, chicken and egg scenario – too tired and run down because of lack of exercise and healthy eating to make the right choices. Choose to prioritise your health – even if it means sacrificing something else. For example, if you love to fit in a morning HIIT workout, but don’t have enough time before heading to work – could you set the alarm a half hour earlier to fit it in? What if this meant going to bed a half hour earlier? What would you be missing? If the answer is another episode of that box set or a scroll through social media feeds then the choice becomes very clear.

What do you need to do in order to detox your body and mind? Treat being kind to yourself as a commitment that you choose to prioritise over all the noise in daily life, and you are taking back to the power and making a positive step – and that in itself can be very energising.

Isolate Your Eating

How many of choose to eat while distracted? In fact, sitting there munching mindlessly while we catch up on emails is very harmful to your health. Studies have shown those who eat while distracted consume more calories, as the brain is switched away from it’s task of sending the message that you’re full to your stomach. So when you eat, make it the main event.

Sit down properly at the table and take the time to engage your senses – what can you see, feel and smell? If you need to, scheduling in a half hour for a meal really emphasises your commitment to mindful eating. Ask yourself about your emotional state if you find yourself reaching for a sugary treat you don’t need. What is making you crave it? Are you bored or upset? Resolve to fix the root cause rather than using food as an emotional tool. Savour each bite, learn to recognise when you’re approaching full up and reconnect your mind and body as you eat. When your finished, you’ll find that you feel more satisfied and are free to continue your day with renewed energy and a clear mind.

Have a Plan for Stress

Stress is a daily factor in our lives. In fact, a little bit of the right kind can be very effective as a motivating factor that keeps us on track – so you shouldn’t be seeking to erase every trace of it from your life. The key is to learn how to manage stress. If it gets out of control, it can act as a major trigger for overeating or drinking too much alcohol, cause relationship issues and get our hormones out of alignment, leading to multiple health problems.

Recognise that you can’t control every factor and that life will throw you curveballs – but understand also how to deal with them. Keep crucial perspective by moving yourself forward in time mentally – will this issue matter in a week? A month? How about in a year’s time? Learn what it takes for you to avoid critical levels of stress – do you need to learn how to delegate more at work? Do you need to put aside more time to rest? Or is it simply a question of scheduling in 10 minute power walks outside to keep you balanced and get some fresh air?

Treat Health as Its Own Reward

If you choose to ‘reward’ yourself with food and alcohol, it promotes all kind of negative associations and cycle of guilt and rebellion. Recognise that these things are not ‘bad’ or ‘good’ in themselves, it’s our approach to them that has positive or negative intentions. Processed treats should never be used to cope with stress or as a reward for doing something. Choose health and wellbeing for its own sake, as a conscious decision that you know enhances your life. Find comfort in other things, such as a deep aromatherapy bath, spending time with your loved ones, or finishing a chapter of that must-have thriller novel. Turn around your reward system and the effects can be life changing.

Choosing to put your health first is not one big decisions – it’s a series of daily choices. Commit to them and you will see positive results!

Beating The Body Blues: Positive Changes To Boost Your Spirits

Beating The Body Blues: Positive Changes To Boost Your Spirits

You wake up each morning and stare at yourself in the mirror as you get changed for work. There are a number of things about your appearance that you wish you could change instantly. From lumpy love handles to blemished skin you’re becoming increasingly unhappy with the way you look. You need to take action and start to work on your beauty insecurities; they will never better if you sit back and complain about them. You have a handful of options at your fingertips so start exploring what might work for you and feel body beautiful again.

Easy Enhancements

If there is a certain part of your body that you have been unhappy with for a long period of time, you might want to look into ways to change it. You were born with certain features which make you unique and distinctive, but it is understandable if some of these things are making you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. If you’re serious about making a change then look into a local plastic surgeon, who will be able to advise you. Even if you just book an initial consultation to explore your options, it is worth having a look into how they could help you.

Skincare Smarts

If you’re prone to regular skin breakouts and acne, then it’s likely to be getting you down. Your face is the first thing you will inspect each morning to see how bad your skin situation and it isn’t easy when you have to stare at zits all the time. Try changing up your skin care regime and stop using products which are full of toxic chemicals. Opt for plant based organic products which are made from natural ingredients. Tea tree oil, lavender and rosehip are all amazing products to use for sensitive and spot-prone skin. Use a clay face mask once or twice a week to clear out the impurities in your pores. You will soon have brighter and fresher skin, which will make you feel more confident.

Effective Exercise

You think your thighs are too thick or your bum is too wobbly; of course these are the things which make you beautiful, but you should consider targeting your problem areas with exercise. You will never be fully happy in your body, so you can’t expect perfection. All you need to do is take part in regular exercise which makes you feel good. If you enjoy the workouts you are taking part in you will soon begin to feel more energetic and positive. Exercise releases endorphins which make you feel happy, so there really is no excuse for skipping out on your next gym class.

Whether you’re looking to straighten out your nose, tighten your wrinkles or tone up your bum, make sure you start being proactive about your imperfections. You don’t need to live with these stresses and strains, just look into your various options and choose what works for you.

Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

Common Beauty Insecurities And How To Get Over Them For Good!

There’s no shame in being insecure about something. In many ways, if you’re not insecure about anything, then you’re probably not human! It’s a natural way of life, we all have elements of ourselves that we don’t like. What’s more, it can take a lot to put these negative thoughts out of our mind and get over our insecurities for good. As such, every day is spent looking in the mirror and focusing on the little things that we don’t like, rather than the things we do like.

We all have different insecurities, but some are more common than others. Today, I’m going to look at the most prevalent beauty insecurities in modern women, and provide a bit of advice to help you get over them for good. My main hope is that this little guide can help all of you to start loving yourselves more!

My Face Is Full Of Spots

So many women are insecure about their appearance because they have breakouts on their face. They think this makes them look super ugly, and they’ll try and cover the spots up as well as possible. Often, this means going overboard with foundation, which just fuels the spots and makes the breakout even worse.

When you have constant issues with spots, it makes you so insecure that you’ll avoid leaving the house unless it’s essential. The thing is, there are so many solutions to this problem, and you’re probably going about it the wrong way. Instead of trying to cover your spots up with loads of makeup, work on addressing the cause of them. Is it because your skin is too greasy or oily? If so, work on cleansing your pores and taking better care of your face. Also, never sleep with makeup on and always wash your face before bed! Then, apply a thin layer of makeup, and only when necessary. If you’re not going anywhere, don’t bother with makeup around the house! If all else fails, see a doctor and they can prescribe acne medication to help you out.

My Boobs Are Too Small

When it comes to insecurities on the body, your breasts are usually at the top of the list. So many girls fear that they’re unattractive because they don’t have big boobs. Once more, the media has a lot to answer for this, as we’ve constantly seen attractive women with big breasts as leading roles in films, on magazine covers, and getting most of the limelight. Needless to say, you can feel very insecure when you don’t have big breasts, and this stops you from wearing things you might like the look of – such as crop tops, bikinis, low-cut dresses, and so on.

The good news is there are both temporary and permanent solutions to this insecurity. If you’re super self-conscious about your breast size and would kill to make them bigger, then why don’t you? Breast augmentation is common, and you can subtly enhance the look of your breasts if you want. It’s not for everyone, and I strongly suggest you see surgery details before you go through with this. This is the permanent solution, and the temporary ones can help give your boobs the appearance of being bigger, without actually changing their size. Things like push-up bras or padding can help make your boobs look bigger and fuller. You’ll be very surprised at how much of a difference a good push up bra makes to your breasts, and this can be all you need for a little confidence boost.

My Legs Are Too Chunky

Another body insecurity most women have is with their legs. A lot of girls see their thighs as being too chunky and wobbly. They feel like they jiggle when you walk, and it can make you so insecure. Especially around the spring/summer seasons where it gets hot, and loads of people wear shorts and skirts. You feel very insecure because you see everyone’s nice legs, and you think you’re being judged for being the only person still wearing jeans.

The reality is, you can easily take care of this insecurity if you’re willing to put in the hard work. All you have to do is start exercising and eating right. This will help you lose body fat, which slims down your thighs. They’ll lose that ‘chunkiness’ you don’t like, and you can also tone them up by doing squats and leg workouts. In fact, I’ll leave a video down below this paragraph of a sample leg workout to help you add muscle tone and firmness. In a matter of weeks, you can transform the way your legs look and feel a lot more secure about them.

My Eyebrows Are Too Light

Finally, we end things off with another insecurity that’s found on your face. Having light eyebrows has become a really big issue in modern times. There seems to be a big beauty trend at the moment where good eyebrows are a must. Everyone wants nice dark brows that are shaped well and finely trimmed. If yours are too light, then it looks like you have none at all, which causes major insecurities.

Again, there are both permanent and temporary solutions here. The temporary one is simply drawing on your eyebrows whenever you want to go out. Once more, I’ll link a video below this paragraph that gives a few tips on how to do this and make your brows look natural. When done correctly, you’ll see the effect looks so real, and no one will guess your eyebrows are really very light. The permanent solution is to get something known as an eyebrow tattoo. Essentially, you get eyebrows tattooed on you, so they always look a lot darker. It’s not for everyone and can be quite expensive. But, if you’re really insecure and can’t bear to even walk around the house with your natural brows, then this may be your best option.

As I said earlier, I really want this guide to help everyone with these insecurities. First and foremost; don’t be ashamed if you’re insecure. Secondly; don’t be ashamed about wanting to change things about yourself. A lot of people say you should just grow to love your insecurities, but it’s not as easy as that. Some people get really badly affected by the things mentioned on this list, so doing things to change the way you look can help you love yourself for once!

Get Buff: How to Build Muscle Without Fat

By Guest Blogger, Diana S.

Get Buff: How to Build Muscle Without Fat

If you’re aiming to get big, you need to know the right formula so you don’t end up gaining too much fat. This is the trickiest part of getting bulk: you need to find a workout that will allow you to build muscle, burn fat, encourage muscle growth and recovery and decrease fat gain. Finding that sweet spot is not easy and is different for everyone, but here are some of the main points you have to follow.

Say no to alcohol

This is an advice as old as time, and yet, not many people seem to follow it. Taking alcohol while bulking (even if you take the right supplements) will tamper with your protein synthesis and it will take you much longer to get back on schedule. The hangover and the general effect of alcohol will slow down the muscle recovery and it will prevent you from giving your all in the gym. Additionally, alcohol is full of calories and can cause increased fat storage, especially around the gut. So, if you’re trying to see real progress and build muscles and not fat, you should stay away from booze.

Hold your horses!

If you’re used to doing cardio every day (which is great for your heart and lungs), you might actually be harming your bulking progress. Over-exercising can destroy your metabolism, so try to take it easy with cardio; otherwise, you can find it really hard to add muscle mass and keep fat at bay. Exercising always produces adrenaline, but too much of it will cause over-saturation that can make some of your organs feel sluggish. This will slow down your metabolism and boost fat accumulation. Additionally, it can also cause your supply of testosterone to get smaller, and testosterone is highly necessary for muscle growth and recovery.

Have a proper form

One of the classic mistakes people make when bulking is lifting too much weight. However, muscle gains are really made when your muscles are already stretched out. That means you should focus on form, especially “on the way down”. Here’s an example: when bench pressing, keep the weight up for 2-3 seconds and try to slow down on your way down. Make this portion of the movement last for about 5-7 seconds. Try to do same when doing squats, curls and pull-ups.

Pick the right supplements

Supplements are great—they improve your performance and allow you to shed fat and gain muscles more easily. However, don’t think that more pills automatically mean more muscles. Getting the right type of quality pre-workout supplements and hitting the gym hard will give you the best results. Don’t concentrate on supplements so much that you neglect your workouts!

Be careful with carbs

A little excess of protein will not make a huge damage to your body, but too many carbs will eventually become fat. But you need carbs to grow! They create fuel for your body, they enhance post-workout recovery and keep your cortisol levels low so the stress doesn’t destroy your body. So, how can you find that golden ratio and get enough carbs, but not too much? Most professional bodybuilders and personal trainers advise loading up on carbs after the workout. This is the ideal way to gain muscles and keep fat from accumulating.

Keep track of your progress

If you’re serious about your muscle gain, you have to keep track of your progress ON PAPER! If you can memorize all your measurements and training statistics, then congrats—you’re a genius, but most of us can’t do that. Writing things down is your safest bet. Putting the numbers of your reps and your weight on paper will increase your chances of reaching your goal. Pro tip: sharing your goal on social media and talking about it with your friends will additionally increase your motivation.

Get enough sleep

Catching enough ZZZs is super important during bulking. If you don’t get 7 or 8 hours a night, you can seriously set yourself back and put your progress in jeopardy. Sleep will recharge your metabolism and optimize your body for fat loss!

If you follow these tips and tricks, you’ll manage to gain muscles and avoid getting fat. You’ll also feel full of energy, both in the gym and out of it, and ready to give 100% towards reaching your dream body.

7 Fitness Benefits of Skating

It helps in boosting the body metabolism, and also loss of excess weight and fat accumulation in the body.

  1. It helps in burning down of calories

Poor posture can sometimes lead to back pain which will require sleeping in a good mattress to correct.

Several conditions that affect the heart including heart attack and stroke can be avoided by doing aerobic exercises frequently. This helps to strengthen the heart and prevent it from being susceptible to these diseases. Skating has been known to increase the rate at which the heart beats easily. 1. Diabetes control

This is also caused by poor lifestyle and poor diet. The recommended control of this disease is regular cardiovascular exercises. Skating is one of the leading cardiovascular exercises that can be done every day. You do not also require too much skating time every day, 30 minutes is enough. The Dos & Don’ts When You’re Trying To Lose Weight

The Dos & Don’ts When You’re Trying To Lose Weight

From

Losing weight isn’t an easy feat, but then, if it were, no one would be overweight. Unfortunately, there is also no one-size-fits-all solution for those want to lose a few extra pounds, as everyone is different and everyone’s body burns off fat differently. However, there are a few general rules that everyone should follow when they’re trying to lose weight. Here they are for you to consider.

Don’t Starve Yourself

The first and possibly most important piece of advice for anyone trying to lose weight is to never starve yourself. Not only is this incredibly unhealthy and could lead to anorexia, but it also isn’t a successful way to lose fat. In fact, your body will try to store more fat than it’s burning, and you’ll lose muscle instead. You will also likely start overeating at some point and will put on even more weight than you initially lost.

Do Create A Meal Plan

Instead of starving yourself, make an effort to eat foods that are healthy and full of nutrients, rather than fat and sugar. Creating a meal plan will help with this, as you’ll know what you’re supposed to be eating for each meal, so won’t just order a takeaway or buy a microwave meal on a whim.

Don’t Expect A Quick Fix

There is no quick fix for losing weight, so don’t look for one. Despite what the internet may say, there is no magic pill that will fix all of your problems. Liposuction won’t work either, as it is meant to contour the body after weight loss, rather than remove large amounts of fat. Just look at some liposuction videos, if you don’t believe me. Losing weight is a long game, I’m afraid.

Do Drink Lots Of Water

It’s important that you drink enough water each day for good health, but if you’re trying to lose weight, it’s even more important. This is because it is necessary for metabolism to occur, which burns calories and fat. It also helps you to feel full, so you don’t feel the need to eat as much.

Don’t Cut Out Foods

If you want to eat healthily and lose fat, the last thing that you should do is deny yourself the odd doughnut here and there. Trust me, having an unhealthy snack once in a blue moon isn’t going to ruin your weight loss, but not having one could, as you’ll just crave unhealthy foods more and more.

Do Have Will Power

Unfortunately, once you’ve had one unhealthy snack, you might want another one, so you’re going to have to stop yourself. Don’t start thinking that it’s okay to have two slices of cake just because you’ve had one, because, before you know it, you’ll have had the whole thing to yourself. You can treat yourself, but you can’t overindulge.

Losing weight is difficult, and it’s different for everyone. However, as long as you follow these general rules, you should find it a lot easier to shed your fat and lose a few pounds.

It’s Time You Started To Take Better Care Of Yourself

It’s Time You Started To Take Better Care Of Yourself

Lifestyle

The way we live is what overall affects how our body feels and changes, and it’s important that we protect it in our lifestyle. From what you eat to how much you move around in a day is what your body has to go off of, and surprisingly this can have a huge impact on your health. If you’re leading an unhealthy lifestyle you may really start to feel it physically, and you’re a lot more likely to fall victim to serious health issues. Typically, when it comes to starting the new year, people try to make a new year’s resolution to work on their diet or start up a new exercise plan. It’s hard to stick to, but you have to be determined!

Checkups

If you don’t often see a doctor, it might be worth booking yourself in for a quick checkup to make sure everything is fine. That’s not to say that you should expect bad news, but there’s no harm in making sure! Even if you do find out there’s bad news, the sooner you find out about it, the more chance you have of getting the best result. You might find yourself needing specific drugs to help out with any conditions you have, which can be pretty expensive if insurance does not cover it! You should check out ePharmacies to help you find the best deal out there on the market. You never know how much you could save, and when it comes to an essential purchase like this; you want to make sure that your payments are going to stretch!

Bad habits

Bad habits are often the worst causes of damage to our bodies. It’s quite common to see people with smoking addictions, and they bring such substantial health risks to themselves and people around them. Managing to quit this addiction doesn’t only help save your body from potential illnesses, but you’re also going to be saving yourself significant amounts of money. It’s hard to give up these addictions, but there are many services and treatments you can invest in to help you quit. The problem with most people’s addictions is, they don’t usually want to give them up, but it can be made a lot easier if you take the available treatments. For example, with the latest e-cigarettes, you don’t really have to give up smoking in a sense, but instead, you can lower your chemical intake significantly by using those instead. Smoking isn’t the only habit that people tend to get addicted to, alcohol is quite a common problem these days, too. Which again, not only compromises your health but leaves a massive hole in your wallet.

The sooner you start to take care of your body, the higher the chance you have at a healthier future. The last thing anyone wants is to be given some bad news based on some silly compromise on their health, like smoking or a lack of exercise. It seems like fun at the time, but it’s something that you would seriously regret when the time comes.
