Find Motivation in Minutes

My biggest motivation for me personally is my goals, which together form the vision of the man I want to become. That guy is easily my biggest motivation! I truly love my life now… but his life looks absolutely incredible! So every single day that vision motivates me and inspires me to keep putting in the work I need to in order to make that vision a reality.

In the past I struggled with being happy along the way, and for some silly reason I only allowed myself to be truly happy when I had achieved something amazing, which of course was only sporadically, setting myself up for months of unhappiness. But over the last four or five years I have really made the conscious decision to enjoy every step along the way.

It’s true what they say, it is as much about the journey as it is the destination. So for anyone out there like me who is super ambitious, please remember that you can allow yourself to be happy every single day, just by making the conscious decision to do so.

During a recent interview I was asked why so many people are not motivated in life. I stated that the reason so many people are unmotivated about life is because they don’t have anything in their lives to be motivated about. If you don’t have goals, or things you want to do or achieve, or things that you truly love doing, then there is no way you are going to be jumping out of bed excited about life to get to work every day.

As you probably know I am the founder of a full-service personal development called ‘Manifold Motivation’ and as our name suggests, we specialize in motivation. I think that motivation is both an art and a science, or a ‘why’ and a ‘how’ as I often describe it.

The reason one thing motivates some and not others has to do with our unique emotional triggers. When I am working with a client who has ambition to do something, but can’t seem to find the motivation, I use certain techniques to find out what really matters to them. I ask them questions that delve deeper and deeper into their ‘why’. Once I have done this and got some results it is far easier for that person to make progress towards their goals, as they’re no longer battling against feeling unmotivated. Instead they can focus all their energy on the important tasks at hand.

The next step is that after you have figured out your ‘why’, you then have to find your ‘how’. This will act as your ‘motivational hacks’ to jump start you when you’re feeling lazy or uninspired. For me, I have lots of hacks for various areas of my life, and they are all equally important to my productivity. You have to find your own ‘how’, and your own ‘hacks’, but only you have the keys to unlocking what those are.

So if I could offer any advice to someone struggling with motivation I would tell them that firstly, they have to find a ‘why’ that truly drives them and inspires them to take action. And secondly, I would tell them to work to find different hacks they can use that they know will motivate them in minutes. You can either do these things yourself, or you can hire someone to help you get there faster, but regardless of the route you take, make sure you do something, because there is a door that leads to all the places you have ever dreamed of; but the key to unlocking that door is your motivation.

So you see, the secret to motivation is having a powerful ‘why’ and an intelligent ‘how’. These two elements form the art and science of human motivation, and that’s the quickest way to get you from you are to where you want to be.
