Teaching Your Kids the Trigger Points. Tips on Triggers:

So the other night, my niece couldn’t go to sleep; she had every excuse in the world, except the one that I was there and she didn’t want to go to bed.

She said she had a headache, belly was hurting and a few other ailments. This all could have been true or it could have been a ploy.

Remember, kids are constantly growing and that can have some pain to it; hence the phrase, Growing Pains. So, it is important to take what they say with compassion, but don’t let them play it too far.

So, I listen to her and then I told her to get into the bed and rub the fatty web between the finger and thumb. I explained that would help get rid of the headache.

I told her while see was doing that to rub her little feet together, with one on top of the other, then switch. I told her this would make the rest feel better. She does them both the best she can and says, “My headache’s gone!” I smiled and told her to lay there and continue to rub the feet together.

Long story short, she was asleep within 10 minutes. Rubbing the feet can make things better, but also allows relaxation, which in return can make a sleepy child, relax and fall asleep.

Teaching them trigger techniques early can allow them to feel control on their body and give you a bit of peace in knowing if they are hurting this helps, also they will not be up and down all night just because they don’t want to sleep. (if that’s the case of it)
